The positive- no longer have freezing while streaming and much cheaper than TDS. You can actually reach local technical support without waiting on the phone for 20 minutes to talk to someone in another country. No offense to foreign customer service, but there can often be communication issues. The negative- had a problem within a week of installation and had to go into the office to trade out the equipment. Within another month, had trouble connecting to the internet. Solved by rebooting, but a pain in the neck to do and time consuming phone call. The employees are young and nice but do not have basic customer service skills. First rule of customer service, when talking to an angry/frustrated customer apologize for the inconvenience. Also, no clear explanation of why the problem happened. They do ok dealing with the problem, but not good at dealing with people, and I have a more calm and patient personality than most. Really need to train their people. read more

We switched from TKS to Infowest wireless for (hopefully) faster service and fewer interruptions. Initially we were plagued by a number of issues that were very frustrating and in the beginning their "after-hours" phone support was not helpful. Finally I spoke with Erica and we began to address the problems. Tyler came out to our home and went through our system top to bottom and repaired some potential trouble spots in our wiring. This still didn't fix everything, so he came out again and replaced the radio on the antenna. We now appeared to have good service to the computer and TV but not our phones. Poking around in my Linksys router settings I disabled "device prioritization" and everything was finally working (at first). Unfortunately after continued use and observation we were still having dropouts and interruptions. After a few weeks of experimentation and Tyler's persistence we determined that the Linksys and Microtik routers we tested would not work consistently with the PPPoE connection protocol that Infowest uses. However, we found that ASUS and Apple Airport routers worked fine. Moral of the story here is that getting good internet service can still be a complex and frustrating experience in the 21st century, but don't give up on these guys! Be patient and let them work though the issues with you. They truly want you to be happy with their service. read more

Let's cross our fingers for good service. The speed is certainly quicker than what I was getting from Centurylink. The acquisition of Awi by InfoWest meant the merging of personnel. Sales and customer service did not get off to a good start, but my installer tried really hard to make up for it, and I'm willing to give the a chance. Please God let me have a good experience. This company came in and bought out my previous company, and following, the service, both human and physical, deteriorated. Finally they said that they couldn't service me anymore because it wasn't profitable for them, which costed me thousands in changing to another company. What gets me, as you can read from my other posts, is that every time a big corp comes in and buys out a smaller, local service of mine I get screwed financially, or service quality deteriorates, or both. Ever since Info West took over AWI it's been horrible service! The people are nice enough. But the internet constantly drops service. It takes them forever to call us back when there's an issue. You can hardly get through to technical support I'm guessing because they're so busy because their Internet sucks. If you could get your Internet through anyone else that's what I would recommend to do! Very poor support service on weekends. Internet speeds slow to a crawl on weekend with out explanation. Paying for 50 map download and receiving 5 - 12 mbps on weekends. Two years in a row we stayed at Temple View RV Park. Two years in a row the Wi-Fi was worse than spotty. Two years in a row we put in a call to 435-627-5678 which is the number listed on the Temple View information sheet. Two years in a row nobody answered. Two years in a row we left a message requesting a call back. Two years in a row we got nothing! Don't expect to be able to do anything that requires Internet from these jokers. Terrible internet service. Got us into a 2 year contract promising 7Mbps down at $39.99/month, which was still high in my opinion but I was OK with it. When the tech came out to install, they said that we are "out of range of the new towers" and we would have to be moved to the $49.99/month plan that was UP TO 5Mbps. We rarely get more than 2Mbps down, with speeds often dipping well below 500kbps, making it practically unusable at least 40% of the time. Now we are moving (closer to st. george from far out in hurricane) and they say that we can't even get service at our new location. We are still expected to pay the contract, even though they can't hold up their end of it. Their customer service reps are always condescending as well. Many times they act like you're an idiot for calling them to fix their horrible service. If I could, I would rate 0 stars or even negative stars. read more

They try so hard but constantly fail to deliver. WiFi is intermittent at best, and they make us go through the same process every single time the network goes down, even if its the very next day. 45 minute phone calls making us go through a series of useless power cycling on and off, them trying to see if its our equipment ultimately realizing it is actually their problem then they finally do the action we asked of them 45 minutes earlier, "remote antenna restart," and the system is back up. This happens 3-4 times per week. They bit off more than they could chew, have incompetent tech support and not enough ground technicians to keep their hardware running properly. The only reason they are still in business is they are the only wireless game in town. read more

I would go negative stars if given the chance. First of all I paid for 25 mbs and averaged 7-8 mbs. Next, when I tried to cancel they told me "no" that I had to return the equipment before they would cancel me. Total BS. I didn't even sign up with them in the first place, I signed up with another company that was acquired by them. If I would have known I would never have signed up with that company because I have dealt with Infowest in the past and have not been impressed. I've been with Infowest for just over 2 years, (my contract was 2 years long). The are ups and downs with them, unfortunately, their flaws greatly out-way everything else. Here are a few things you should consider before choosing Infowest: Pros: 1. Installation is quick and on time. 2. Local customer service is usually friendly and helpful. Cons: 1. Their best internet bundle is 30MB/s (megabits per second) at 70$ a month. This is very costly for such a low speed. I just switched to another company that offered me 100MB/s for $30 a month. 2. They do have a data cap (how much internet you're allowed to use during the month). Once you hit the data cap, they drop your internet speed to the lowest possible setting. About 2MB/s! No other companies that I've researched have data caps! Conclusion: If you don't care about paying way too much money for mediocre internet speeds, then Infowest is the internet service provider for you! I recommend considering CenturyLink, or TDS Telecom before you decide on an internet service provider. read more

InfoWest is great! I've never had more reliable internet service and they are priced reasonably. I've only had one day of less than optimal speeds and it was resolved after contacting InfoWest. Their customer service is excellent. They are personable and available. I recommend InfoWest to anyone considering internet service in St. George. I have experienced other internet providers who refer to "they" as in a mystery group of people that nobody knows will fix a problem...and it never gets fixed. Internet has been out since Friday. Spent 1.5 hours troubleshooting with 3 reps only to be told they would need someone to call me Monday. This is ridiculous. My neighbor has Infowest and Utopia fiber just like we do and his internet is fine. I understand that there are more important issues going on right nowhere the world, but having kids trying to access school work and working from home without internet isn't feasible. read more

We are paying $69 for internet, with Infowest. About the same price we were paying Cox back in Vegas, for twice the speed. We had no issues, with Cox. Here in St. George with Infowest it's a different story! I signed up for the two year contract based on the good reviews here, but after the first month of service (you have one month to cancel your contract) it has just gone down hill! For the first month, the signal from the satellite dish they installed on my roof was working good. No, interruptions. Now, that we are in our second month with Infowest the internet signal will just randomly drop. And, be dead for about thirty minutes to an hour and a half. For the last two nights around 10 pm at night it went out for about an hour to hour and a half. Today, right in the middle of a webinar meeting it cut out again for the third time in two days! I called tech support and spoke with Jeff. He couldn't give me an answer as to why the satellite lost the signal three times, in the last two days! He said, he will ask the senior tech. I asked Jeff to patch me into the sales and billing department. Which he did. I spoke to a young lady, in billing and sales, sorry I can't remember her name. I explained my problem and concern. I told her the signal cannot be going out so often and in the middle of the day. It's is just not possible for me to have internet service for which I cannot rely on. She said, the problem was not with Infowest, but most likely with my router! How would she know if the problem was with my router? She then told me the next time I need to patch into a webinar meeting , I should hard wire into my router. To avoid any interference over wifi. I then asked her, why am I paying InfoWest $69, for internet when I as the customer must fix and or work around the problem with internet from InfoWest? She then said, it wasn't InfoWest's problem! She said, I was locked into my two year contract. And, there was nothing she could about that. All she could say was, when you have another drop to call the tech support, again. And, try and trouble shoot, again! No, apology. No, offer to send a human out to look at my satellite dish. NOTHING! Please, do NOT sign up for a two year contract with this company!!!!! The internet is fine when it is working, but it will sometimes go out for hours to days at a time. The phone tech support people have always been pleasant, but usually there is nothing they can do to fix it so they have to send a technician out to fix it so you have to go another day or two without internet. Bottom line, you can count on paying for a month of internet, but usually only get 28 days or less of working internet. read more

We have been with InfoWest for some time and for the past several months the service is so bad my husband and I both have them on speed dial. Every morning we lose internet and when we call it is a different reason everyday, one day they actually said that they had to defer to a plane. Today's reason was that there was a power outrage at the tower which on the surface sounds legit unless it is the 5th day in a row that you have lost service. One tech swore he would get with his boses and get to the bottom of our continual outages, he promised to call back that day with an update.... still waiting.Only sign up with them if you have a lot of free time to constantly be calling to get your service restored. Don't use infowest! They lied to use and trapped us in a 2 year contract that would cost $250 to cancel. We paid for 20mbs and never got more than 8 mbs. There techs told us the only thing we could do was pay for more internet. They were not giving us what we paid for. I would give them less than 1 star, but I have to give them at least one. I wish I could give them zero stars. We are locked into a 2 year contract and can NOT wait to get rid of them. We've lived in a couple of different houses and the internet has been in and out at both places. We had to pay $100 to have the service moved to the new house, and it's worse than ever. We KNOW it's their equipment. I called them 5 times in 3 days because the internet stopped working. They had me unplug my router. Not the problem. Then they had me unplug their equipment. EVERY TIME it worked after rebooting THEIR equipment. They finally escalated it to service call status, which will take another 2 days. It's just gotten worse and worse, and they tell me the reason for the delay is the huge volume of problems they currently have. I've had techs come check wires and went and bought a new router but nothing has helped. I've made countless calls because my internet seems to be down more than its working. I'm so disappointed.
