Terrible experience. Not only did my piercing get horribly infected, I was over charged 2x the normal amount, and I was given the wrong hardware. I got a double helix piercing and they gave me a dermal piercing. if you know anything about piercings that's completely incorrect, the piercing was way too short and way too thick to be put into a cartilage, which is why it got infected. do not come here. I now have eight tattoos, six from artists at this shop and two from artists at the West location. I definitely recommend this place and this particular Ink & Needle location. I had good experiences at West, but I've had great experiences with the artists at East. I can personally recommend working with Ally, Dreux, or Forrester if you're looking for a piece that fits their styles (check out the shop on instagram)! Everyone I've talked to here has been friendly and communicated very well, and the shop just has a good energy. You can tell that the artists are passionate about their work, let alone talented, and that gives way to a great experience every time I'm there. I'll definitely be going back for more work here. Everyone also has lots of options for flash! They seem to be busier later in the evening, but I've never had trouble with booking an appointment not too far out if they can't take me as a walk in. read more

I've lived in the Lansing area my whole life and have heard some mixed reviews about this place. I personally had a great experience and am highly considering this location for a second tattoo. If they have the availability, they will do walk-ins which is what I did and why I chose this shop. Even when doing a walk-in, the staff was very friendly, patient, and the artist gave me exactly what I wanted (I forgot the name of the artist who tattooed me but it was a young guy). I was most impressed by how thin he was able to do the line work on my tattoo. I've gone to other shops around lansing and this definitely the thinnest tattoo lining I have (which is what I wanted!) I love the style of thin line art tattoos and want my next one in that style, so I would totally trust them to do it again. They were also very clean and my tattoo healed perfectly read more

Moya is an incredible artist who is 5/5! My only problems come with the shop. I made an appointment about a month out and they scheduled my appointment for a day that they were CLOSED. I was not aware the shop would be closed that day until I received a call much later saying the appointment would need to be rescheduled for an additional month out. This is at no fault to the artist, just poor scheduling from the shop. I look forward to supporting Moya at her new shop in metro Detroit. read more

DO NOT GO HERE: this place is extremely janky and not very professional. My gf got a tattoo here, in Sanskrit. That tattoo is slightly messed up as the wording varies in sizes, they couldn't keep a consistent size and it was a relatively small phrase. Whatever. I decided to to give them a chance myself. All I wanted was the Spartan logo tattooed on me, just the outline. I wanted it pretty small and outlined in green. The "artist" i got was not capable of doing a tattoo of that size. So I decided I'd get it bigger than I wanted because I really wanted this tattoo so bad. I specified to the receptionist and the artist himself that I wanted it outlined in green. He starts tattooing me, only guess what? In blank ink. "Whoops" he said. He thought I wanted it shaded in green after it was outlined. He then proceeded to tell me that because he's done hundreds of tattoos that mistakes are bound to happen. Except it's a tattoo and on my body forever. I hate it so much I actually am going to get it covered up in a month or so once it's healed. The place sucks, I can tell the guy didn't care that much that he messed up my body art, had a very "oh well attitude" and then another artist had the nerve to ask why I didn't say something! I did, twice possibly three times, but when he started I couldn't see the needle until he moved his hand and then he had already started in black. I literally said I wanted it outlined in green three times before starting, if you can't comprehend that sentence you probably shouldn't be tattooing people. Everything was great! I had my tattoo with dreux, and he did a great job. He was quick and light handed, as well as making sure he checked in on me throughout the tattoo to make sure I was feeling ok. The desk staff was great as well, the girl with the floral arm sleeve. I was taken advantage of as a young woman and overcharged by a lot. Being the nonconfrontational person that I am, I went ahead with it because I didn't want to stir feathers. The appointment took less than 10 minutes as I got a very small and basic tattoo and was charged $90. As a person with multiple large pieces on my body with incredible detail, I knew this was a ridiculous price to ask. The tattoo should have cost $50 at most. Additionally, the lines are uneven, and in some places the ink wasn't pressed into the skin well enough so it looks unfinished and it is just shotty work. The only reason I gave the experience 2 stars rather than 1 was because the people were at least nice to me. I just wish I would have stood up for myself. While I was given a free touch-up as part of the cost, I don't even want to go back because I'm worried they'll just mess it up even more. read more

Clef (I believe that's what his name was) was amazing and talked me through everything. He was amazing and super nice. He helped me get exactly what I was looking for and checked in with me throughout the appointment to make sure everything was turning out the way I wanted and to make sure I was doing okay. The experience my friends and I had here was absolutely horrible. The staff was extremely disrespectful from the moment we walked in the door, and we were made to feel uncomfortable right away. From there we showed what we wanted and were given a price and time that the tattoo would take... both of which were unbelievably inaccurate and unreasonable. Being young college girls, they attempted to take advantage of us and what they thought was a "lack of knowledge" regarding tattoos, even though I have been tattooed in the past and we had already been quoted on the tattoo we were asking about. They gave a $60 increase on the price we had previously been quoted as well as stating that it would take 25+ minutes more than it actually would. The fact that they tried to take advantage of us is disgusting and I HIGHLY discourage anyone from going here, especially if you are a young woman. Do not waste your time here. read more
