All the time, there was one cashier, and one other employee stocking shelves. After roughly ten minutes, the cashier, who'd looked directly at me many times already, asked me if I needed help. I told her I pressed the button to pick up an online order, and told me the button doesn't work. Why she decided to wait a full ten minutes to tell me this is beyond me, but she then collected my information, and radioed to a coworker to bring me my item. The other employee fetched my item (a very large office laser printer), and wheeled it out to my car for me. In the box, it was too big to fit into my car. She said they'd be happy to hold it for me until I came back with a bigger vehicle, and I said I'd just unbox it and put it in my car that way. All the while, she seemed apprehensive, and in a hurry to get back into the store. She told me they'd need the box if I had to return it, so I said I'd collapse the box and take it with me. She then told me to "keep a close eye on it", as she hurriedly scooted back toward the store. I had no idea what she was getting at, and she must have seen my confusion and added, "...because of the clientele", suggesting that the location was in a seedy area. I got the printer and box packed into my car, and got it home safely. The printer's been fine, but had I known the location was so bad, and that the service would have been so bad, I'd never have selected this as the pickup location.

No matter what time I show up, I'm usually the only one in the store. How do they stay in business? Customer service is hit or miss. Someone is always trying to sign me up for an HP automatic ink program but if I'm trying to find a case for my gel pens, they point yonder and say, "maybe they are over there." Back to the ink for the printer. I have a small HP printer for my home needs; cost about $100 and came with four colors of ink. To replace the ink, it costs more than the darn printer! My tip is to search online and often you can find on Amazon for at least 25% less than here. I only buy at Office Depot when I can't wait a day or two for a shipment to arrive. When I get to the counter, they are friendly enough. If I mention a coupon online they automatically put the code in. Nothing to rave about or even get mildly excited about. It's mediocre at best. But since it's convenient, I stop in once or twice a year, like today for a pack of printer paper. Oh, I do shop at their online store for Starbucks Via coffee. They sell the box of 50 for about $38. I wait for an online coupon and order 2-3 boxes to get free shipping.

I suffered with it for weeks, dreaming of finding a new one. I'm working on a novel and homeschooling my kids from my dining room table. This is my command center and it needs to be ergonomic. I've bought a few chairs here in the past, and while I was sitting uncomfortably, I was dreaming of ordering a new chair. But after remembering how it wasn't very easy to put together a chair from a box, I remembered this place. I could go sit in a few chairs, make sure it feels good, throw it in the SUV and have a new chair today. So that's what I did. Service was friendly and present but not pushy whatsoever. As a design nerd, this chair is going to give me a dopamine hit every time I see the name Knoll on the back. :) At first, I went straight for the Herman Miller, but the Mirra seat was too hard on the edges for me--which I never would have know had I not tried it out. They had rows of this Knoll Regeneration chair (choose your color!) and sitting in a couple, I realized how many adjustments it has. I got it dialed in, fell in love, and rolled it to the checkout. Cheaper, faster, like new, already put together, supporting a local biz. Happy camper. Next stop? Published author! *Editing to add (didn't meant to gatekeep.) The Knoll Regeneration Chair. Absolutely stunning in it's comfort once you get it dialed in. I watched a quick Youtube video on the features and found the recline resistance lever. Perfection. The only person I wouldn't recommend it to is someone super tall who needs a very deep seat.

Very helpful salesperson, great selection. And I got a great deal on a like-new Herman Miller chair.read more

Clearly demonstrated an unprofessional attitude with regard to not only assisting me (or lack thereof) in the print center, but not wanting to do anything whatsoever from the start. It's one thing to not be able to ship certain items due to what you can legally ship- totally get that. It's quite another to say that you won't ship it because you don't have a return address for the label. Even a hotel address wasn't sufficient. It was evident that Truman didn't want to help me, nor wouldn't despite the efforts of his print employee who actually made an effort to explain things (before Truman interjecting his position). Yet this is apparently how the customer is treated in 2023. Highly recommend not using this Office Depot location, and to strongly consider other options and competitors. Update: I had a very good phone call on 3/16/23 with the district manager (Thomas Crawford) regarding what happened. I really believe that he is sincere in resolving any issue, even during a time of management & employee transition with this store. I 100% believe that he was sincere, and I certainly hope that this store improves in providing customers with viable solutions, and not viewing others as insignificant when it comes to shipping needs. This phone call made all of the difference.
