Sitting so happily in my chair right now, I had to write a review. I had recently bought a chair online that looked good but ended up not being very comfortable. I suffered with it for weeks, dreaming of finding a new one. I'm working on a novel and homeschooling my kids from my dining room table. This is my command center and it needs to be ergonomic. I've bought a few chairs here in the past, and while I was sitting uncomfortably, I was dreaming of ordering a new chair. But after remembering how it wasn't very easy to put together a chair from a box, I remembered this place. I could go sit in a few chairs, make sure it feels good, throw it in the SUV and have a new chair today. So that's what I did. Service was friendly and present but not pushy whatsoever. As a design nerd, this chair is going to give me a dopamine hit every time I see the name Knoll on the back. :) At first, I went straight for the Herman Miller, but the Mirra seat was too hard on the edges for me--which I never would have know had I not tried it out. They had rows of this Knoll Regeneration chair (choose your color!) and sitting in a couple, I realized how many adjustments it has. I got it dialed in, fell in love, and rolled it to the checkout. Cheaper, faster, like new, already put together, supporting a local biz. Happy camper. Next stop? Published author! *Editing to add (didn't meant to gatekeep.) The Knoll Regeneration Chair. Absolutely stunning in it's comfort once you get it dialed in. I watched a quick Youtube video on the features and found the recline resistance lever. Perfection. The only person I wouldn't recommend it to is someone super tall who needs a very deep seat. read more

Whether you need one chair or a whole office suite of furniture, this place offers a great deal with great help. I came to get one chair and it was a fantastic deal. Great condition and only cost $115 ($455 new from Herman Miller)! I also heard them helping a small business as I waited my turn. They were kind, helpful, and easy to work with. They answered any and all questions the three team mates had and offered flexible help like sending them pics as new stock comes in later this week. They have a great selection of office chairs as well as some electronic standing desks, meeting tables and other items. Due to cracking my spine decades ago and roughing up all the cartilage in the area, I can only sit in the Herman Miller Caper chair with mesh seat (not the hard seat). I haven't found any other chair that works for me. NWO Liquidators has a good stock of Caper chairs and I got the exact one I wanted with wheels and arms. I also hate office chairs with five wheels from a central post as I always find the wheel arms in the way of my feet. The Caper chair is one of few options with four separate legs and wheels and plenty of room for my feet. The chair was marked $149, but it was discounted when I checked out and I only paid $115! Phenomenon selection of new and used office chairs and furniture. Wow! Lots of chairs, tables and coffee tables for the home, also. I was blown away by the variety and inventory. Add in awesome customer service, I'm a fan! For months I was searching for a mid-century style chair for a small desk. A few times a month I would stop in my favorite vintage shops with no luck. Yesterday I stopped at Birrieria PDX for a taco and walked past the open garage door and the rows and rows of chairs called me in. With so many, I knew I would find something that would work. Sure enough, while perusing the home furniture side, I spotted a honey oak wooden chair with a curved back. It was so comfortable and the exact small footprint I needed. They are having a 75% off sale this weekend (10/16-10/17/21) so the $79 chair was just $20! What? I bought two! One for my desk and another as an extra chair for my guest room. The chairs just happened to be next to this super cool modern table, a gray base with a glass top. After the discount, it was $89. Crazy good deal! After getting in touch with a friend who has a truck, I purchased that as well. They will deliver to Portland metro area for $69 but this is going outside of their delivery area. Since I was on my way back from gym and no wallet with me, they held the items until I could come back the next day to pay. And held the table another day so my friend could pick it up. Brendan and everyone I spoke with were super helpful and accommodating. I have passed this store many times but thought the quality was along the lines of City Liquidators so I never went in. Man, was I wrong! They have new Herman Miller chairs and other designers. Their used furniture is in exceptional shape. The pricing and value is exceptional. Customer service top notch. My husband has been searching high and low for a comfortable office chair that he can use while working from home. He has a bad back, so finding the right chair is especially tricky. The only chair he has ever really loved was the chair he used to sit at when he was still working on-site, not from home. That chair was made by a company called 9to5, but they have no showroom in Oregon. The first couple of times we visited NW Office Liquidations, we were impressed by the sheer number of new and gently used chairs, as well as the friendly, laid-back salesperson who helped us. My husband sat in many of the chairs, but he wasn't ready to make a purchase, as none of the chairs felt entirely right for him. Last week, we visited again, and this time he got lucky. He found a gently used, affordably priced office chair by 9to5, and it was virtually identical to the chair he knew and loved! The only difference was the seat fabric (unimportant) and the style of arms (also unimportant because he was planning to remove the arms anyway). Finding that chair felt like winning the lottery because he knew he would be able to sit down and work at his desk pain-free for a full eight hours or longer. Moral of the story: if you're searching for an office chair and you don't find what you're looking for the first time, keep circling back to NW Office Liquidations every now and then. This place is like a thrift store or antique store where there are hidden gems everywhere, and the merchandise keeps changing from week to month, month to month. You never feel pressured into buy anything. And they really do stand by their year warranty. We had an office chair develop a problem after eight months of ownership, I brought it back to their store and no questions asked, we were wheeling out a new chair within three minutes. The store is very disorganized. We were unable to get enough information on financing a larger purchase while we were there as the staff did not know. When we heard back from the manager on financing we were advised the item would be placed on hold for a few days for us while we applied and we were advised to let them know once we did. We applied within the time frame given for holding and left a voicemail advising such, and even called back within the same time frame given for holding. After applying for financing and going through the process within the time frame provided, they sold it to another buyer. And we had to go through the process of backing out the financing. Would not recommend working with the store unless you are buying while there. read more

Lots of office furniture types, in big supply, and nice quality- with some exceptions. Some furniture is new, though mostly used, and in good shape. Sales people are available and have good knowledge of their products and brands. Discounts are evident on many categories of furniture. I get good ideas every time I shop here for our small business. I was upgrading my home office with a sit-stand desk. Ikea was an option, but their sit-stand desks are very wobbly and prone to breakdowns. Ikea has many good products, but caveat emptor. I stopped in to NW Office Liquidators, explained my dilemma and Lexi suggested a Herman Miller electric adjust desk for less than a third of the original price, and only about 50% more expensive than Ikea. Then we had a design and architecture conversation about Maya Lin, her work for Herman Miller and public artworks in our area. I'm a design geek, and it is always a pleasure to talk that. If you are not familiar with Maya Lin, you might be familiar with her design of the Viet Nam War memorial in Washington DC. She won that commission as a student at age 21. The documentary Maya Lin: A Strong Clear Vision covers it. She was considered for a Pearl District park, but that did not happen. But she went on to do Columbia River parks including in Vancouver, WA and I'm pretty sure the monolith where the streetcar cuts through PSU is hers. If you are setting up a home office, or are a startup business starting up, or shutting down, NW Office Liquidators is a resource. They have a small efficient staff and an ever-changing inventory. They have a large collection of white boards, too, but maybe having one of those at home would be a little too traumatizing. They deliver too, and the delivery staff is solid. read more

But thankfully it turned out better because this store has 40% OFF on some or a lot of their tables at least off the magazine they showed me haha. Either way I am satisfied! Is this Portland's best-kept secret?! I must have driven past this place hundreds of times without ever noticing it, let alone going in. Recently, I really really needed a new chair. My old chair was simply not designed for someone as short as I am, and it was starting to cause me serious problems as a result. I decided I'd try to find a new chair and sell the old one. Hoping to find a bargain, I actually found this place on Craigslist! So, first, I called and asked about the Herman Miller chairs. I forget the guy's name who answered the phone (I am terrible with names, sorry!) but he was super patient, friendly, and helpful. I mean, if I dealt with chairs all day, I'd be sick of newbie questions and not half as nice as he was. But this was a big purchase for me, and when you think about it, your home office chair sees & touches your butt more than your spouse. You gotta choose wisely! (Both chair and spouse) I went in person the next day, and the service was even better in the store (and the prices are actually a lot lower than on their site, FYI!). I guess it makes sense that a place where you are invited to just sit in chairs, without the pressure and stress of work, would be relaxing, but this was happily surprising to me somehow. There are some SERIOUS deals here. I saw the same exact sit-stand desk that I have (and that I love) for so much less than I paid for it new that I really wished I had a time machine. I mean, OK, if I had a time machine I'd probably do more important things than get a bargain on a desk, like after I went back in time and purchased the sit-stand desk for less, I would prevent World War II or something, but you know what I mean. Anyway, this store also has things that are not necessarily for offices, like weight machines from gyms and medical supply carts. The staff here is so friendly and knowledgeable. While I was there experiencing the best office chairs in the city, some other customers came in for warranty service. They fixed one person's chair right then and there. I personally like that sort of thing, watching stuff get made or repaired or whatever, but it was also great to see that the warranty they offer you is legit. After I had finally picked out my winner (An Aeron...it turns out I'm pretty basic) and was getting ready to put it in my car, one of the sales guys noticed there was a tiny pucker on the mesh. He said that this was usually the start of damage to that chair, so they quickly got me another and helped me load it in my car. They even said they'd buy my despised ergonomic ex-chair that was designed for much taller people, but also told me that selling it on Craigslist would probably net me more cash. I truly appreciate that kind of honesty, especially because this was a big purchase for me. Maybe I had begun to have a weird abusive relationship with my ex-chair, like to the point where it caused me so much physical pain that anything feels better so you run into the comforting mesh seat and adjustable arms of the next thing, but I feel SO GREAT about this purchase. I had actually had serious productivity losses because the other chair was so uncomfortable, and now I'm able to work at my desk a lot longer. Did Northwest Office Liquidations get me out of an abusive relationship (with a chair)?! Did they save my career?! (Just kidding, I don't really have a career; I just work all the time...but I digress). Literal heroes. My life's pretty boring, so this was the most exciting thing that happened to me recently. Is there anything better than great prices combined with amazing customer service? I don't think so! After almost a year working from home I finally invested in a standing desk in December last year. The staff at NW Office Liquidations we're top notch. A few days ago the desk base stopped working. I did some Google searching and tried some troubleshooting to no avail. Once I'd exhausted my options I reached out for help and was so impressed with the service I received. I expected to be asked to go through more troubleshooting or to swap out components to see if anything would fix it. Instead, I received a whole new base, delivered and assembled, in less than three business days. Sometimes great products fail, and when they do it's invaluable to know that the vendor you purchased from will make it right. Wandered in here in a whim, saw a desk I liked for $99, similar to one I had been eyeing elsewhere, but much less expensive, vintage, and I wouldn't have to put it together. Had a lovely chat with May (Hope I'm getting her name right, I'm kind of flustered and brain dead with moving), and they were able to deliver it to me the next morning! They were all incredibly friendly and helpful. I bought a new chair and a height adjustable desk. Both were in great shape. The chair didn't work out for me because the back was too firm after a full day of sitting in it, and they accepted my return within a week graciously. Super kind about it all. Tip: Some of the chairs they have some are not in as good shape as others (torn fabric, loose arts rest) and are priced the same as others in good condition, so be careful which one you actually choose, But the service is excellent. read more
