Very awful staff memebers I'd fire them all , every time I come in to print there's always a problem . If you come in at 7:30 when they close at 8 these lazy people won't print you 1 piece of paper claiming they shut their machines off at 7:30 . If you have over 10 copy's of paper they will tell you , you need an appointment . Customer service is trash read more

We went in to have bereavement cards printed for my Dad's funeral in 4 days. The print shop employee basically told us to go sit down and order them online. After an hour we found out they would not print them in time. They were not helpful at all! I went to Fed-Ex print shop and they did an amazing job. I am so happy for Eric he has sincerely changed my mind about this store. He was the most professional, and his service was impressive . I had been to 2 other places trying to send a package and kept being refused. No one would tell me why. As a last-ditch effort. I went to your store, and Eric immediately told me it was the packaging. Eric then fixed the packaging and sent the package on its way. He was so kind and ready to help. I have been faithfully using this store for my business's print needs for years and have been a loyal, frequent customer, but with the change in staff I've really seen a decline in their quality of service over the last year and today was the last straw. I will no longer bring my business here. I had paid a previous print manager for the service to format my labels and today when I went to pick up my print job they said they were formatted incorrectly and recharged me for the service to reformat them again and printing them onto my labels that I had brought them without even waiting for me to respond if that was something I was interested in paying for. Given the opportunity I would have preferred to come back and pick up my unused labels and go home. The fact that they don't stand behind their original work and pass their own mistakes onto the customer to pay for again is a deal breaker for me and I will be spreading my dissatisfaction with this store now to anyone will listen. The new general manager was all to happy to say if I hadn't paid for the service in the last seven months during his time at the store, then I was out of luck. I will be in business longer than any of these yahoos will be working there (I know because I seen a ton of turnover) and he just successfully soured me on the entire Office Max / Depot brand for life. read more

Ventured in for some last minute shopping grabs for school with my youngest gyrl... DON'T recall a time when my folks ever spent OVER $60 for school supplies (paper..pens..pencils..ruler..we're talking "basics" here) on JUST one kid but then again.. i obviously grew up back in the day.. and back in the day.. WE ROCKED!! lol The staff was more than attentive and readily available to help.. considering we were flying blind with NO list the CA lady was more than kind when she not only printed us out a list for my daughter's school but sent us off in the right direction! Everyone here is so calm, the store is very well organized, and the last time I went I ended up buying a box that was far too large for the items I needed to ship (because they could fit in kind of diagonally instead of flat at the bottom) and the person at the register was incredibly nice about doing the exchange with no fuss. read more

Had the worst interaction with who was supposedly the manager on duty the other day at OfficeMax. I had gone in for my mom to fix some thing she had printed out. I was even willing to pay for another order, but as I was trying to show what was wrong the first time, Ivan became super hostile and defensive claiming " we didn't do anything wrong. It's all your fault." And also saying " it's not his job" and that he wasn't going to help me. And that if I wanted to resolve my issue, I would have to go back a different day. This is all coming from a manager also. After a little bit of going back-and-forth, he proceeded to tell me to get out of the store, and that I was banned from there for life. As a result of this, I wanted to take a picture of his name tag. He then reach for my phone and smacked it out of my hand. After this I had pushed him off and told him not to lay his hands on me. I cannot believe that this is the way that managers at OfficeMax deal with small inconveniences. Way to go Ivan! not read more

Want to deal with folks that are passionate about what they do and their customers? You won't find it any better than this. I've dealt with other office supply stores and they can't hold a candle to the people and the service you get at this store. I sure hope it doesn't change when the merger with Office Depot goes through. Their kind of people and service is a dying breed in todays "Customer Service" driven stores. Bought a filing cabinet here, wasn't in stock, nothing is so it had to be shipped. Ended up being a piece of junk and the return process was a complete headache. Not worth the hassle at all, just go to Staples for inexpensive office furniture or supplies. read more

This is THE store to shop! I encourage you to read the review from Donna B on 1/3/18. Donna's printer cartridge problem may seem minor to most everyone, but when you are blind these issues can be extremely frustrating. Needing to print documents can become a nightmare requiring many hours over several days. I tried to help her with the printer/cartridge issue. Another family member also tried to help. We all thought it was a cartridge problem because that is the troublehsooting message we were getting. Unfortunately, we didn't have time to help her get it replaced so we left her with what we thought was a bad cartridge and a promise to return a few days later. I AM IN AWE about the customer service provided by the store's manager on this one. Because Donna is blind and was going to have to wait a few days for a ride to return to the store for an exchange (which as it turns out wouldn't have solved her problem anyway), he personally delivered a replacement cartiridge to her home. When that didn't solve the problem, he took the extra time to help her out by talking with HP customer service (they were also very helpful on the phone!). Together with HP they figured out the problem and got the printer working - and it wasn't even an Officemax product issue after all! After hearing about this I am committed to buying as many of my office products from Officemax as possible. I just hope someone reads this and gives that store manager a raise! He's a keeper! The level of support, compassion for a disabled person in need, and the genuine desire to satisfy a customer is rare indeed. read more

All I can say is WOW!!! All of the staff here was friendly, helpful and the store is spotless!!! I have to give a special shoutout to Kevin. I went in looking for cardboard to do a project with my sons kindergarten class. I had been to Walmart to ask for some they were going to toss and they were quite rude about it. They told me that they get paid for the cardboard and if I wanted it I had to be there by 7am to pick it up. Hard to do as a single mom of little ones. They seemed quite irritated that I would even ask. I went into Office Max to get some other things and asked them about the cardboard. I am brand new to the area and do not know anyone here or quite where to go yet. Kevin was total clutch!!!! He went in the back (they were unpacking inventory) and brought me several cardboard boxes they had broken down. They were EXACTLY what I needed!!! He also stated they had some sort of recycling event the day before and no one wanted the cute little neon green bags. He gave them all to me to use in the kindergarten classes!!! The retail staff is okay, but these ladies consistently go above and beyond. Every time I go to this location I end up hating myself. While the problem does not seem to be the staff but the rules I guess. They just can never help and I end up going to the OfficeMax on Vancouver Plaza Dr. where it is always easy and pleasant. This location feels like a large soulless Corporation just trying to separate me from my money. I usually go here for copy services and shipping, I order online and pay, and almost every time they try to charge me again at the store. The shipping stuff is fine except they won't share any tape to seal a package and will suggest you buy some. I will probably end up visiting here again because it's close to other things I like, but most likely I will hate myself after. read more

I'm sending a formal letter into Corporate regarding this situation; The tech I talked to, "Duane", and the Manager now in charge at the Mill Plain store who I also talked to, "Miguel", tried to RIP ME OFF by not backing a defective computer, by telling me they'd have to charge me to talk to me, by telling me I'd have to deal with the manufacturer when the computer crashed 17 days after I bought it, and by 'not' telling me about an extended holiday return policy! Hopefully my efforts will get them both FIRED!! When this happened, I simply called a different store, and it was as different as night and day. I talked to Daniel Meaney, the new manager at the Vancouver Plaza store, and she said that their actions were not correct. She took over and exchanged my computer, and TOOK CARE OF ME! Long story short...RUN FROM THE MILL PLAIN STORE, AND RUN 'TO' THE VANCOUVER PLAZA STORE! They have a GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE PHILOSOPHY! read more

As long as you don't need anyone to help you in the copy/print "customer service " area. Then you will be fine. Stick to the in stock items. Get in and get out. I myself will go elsewhere. They are local and I would have liked to shop here. But, too many wasted trips and nothing accomplished. I give up. read more

I went to this store to purchase a new ink cartridge for my printer. To cut to the details, I will just say that I thought they had sold my a faulty cartridge and said so in a survey request they sent me. The next morning the store manager called and apologized and asked what he could do to make me happy. I explained that I am legally blind and that I was unhappy about the time and expense it would take to return the faulty cartridge and get another one. He offered to bring me a new cartridge! He just left a few minutes ago and I have to tell you, it wasn't the cartridge at all. It ended up being a very small piece of paper that I left behind when I tried to clear a paper jam. It had printed one job but evidently, when it printed it transported this little bitty paper shard to a contact in the printer. The store manager spoke to HP Customer Service and they troubleshot everything until they finally got to this little piece of paper. NOW THAT IS CUSTOMER SERVICE! He went the extra mile to bring a new cartridge and could have easily walked out when he knew it wasn't a cartridge problem. He didn't try to charge me anything and actually refused a $20 tip for helping me out. That is how you earn customer loyalty, GO OFFICE MAX. read more

Envelopes were on sale for $14.99 (normally $38.99), bought 3. Got home, they had charged $78 (should have been $45). Wife went in to try to get it fixed, an employee said she should "come back after 3 when the nicer manager is here". I said "forget that" and went in myself. The manager begrudgingly refunded the amount, and sarcastically said "have a nice day" as he flung the receipt at me. I checked the receipt, and after the refund, still paid $10 more than we should have. Isn't worth the $10 to try to get them to fix it. We buy a lot of office supplies for our business, and I will not set foot in another Officer Depot/Max store again. There are plenty of other places that would be happy to take my business. read more
