The tattoo artist Geselle Arrate is not a person you want to work with. First she told me my tattoo would be on one day, then I sent the deposit over and when it came time to get the tattoo she says "I was not aware" of the appointment. UMMM... How are you not aware we had a whole conversation on instagram and I sent the deposit over, yet you were "not aware"?. Then she does not apologize for the mistake at all and blames it on me for not reminding her. After this failed appointment we rescheduled to a later date (which I was fine with), but then I got sick. I requested a reschedule and she had a whole argument about this "not being a reschedule since it was never on the books in the first place". She literally had an argument with me about this not being a reschedule, but really I just wanted to know when the earliest I could come back in was (which was a month later). She is belittling, rude, and will post about you on her social media if you do something that irritates her. Very unprofessional. I tried to message her for resolution to go forward with the tattoo when we had a dispute about the deposit/reschedule and she just never replied. and I am glad I ended up not getting a tattoo by her. Lost my deposit too which sucks since all she did was push me off. On the other hand I had a piercing done here which was a great experience. I went to get three more lobe piercings by Tess the other day and my entire experience was fantastic! She was welcoming, patient, super friendly, and also very professional. She provided detailed explanations of everything she was going to do and made sure that you were okay with it. After getting my piercings in, she then gave me a sheet with detailed instructions on aftercare. In relation to the lobe piercings themselves, I loved how there were several options you could choose from. All were hypoallergenic and sterilized. Got my 3rd piercing on my earlobes today. Tess made it quick and easy! What I liked the most is her greeting me as soon as I walked in the door. It's my pet peeve to go into an establishment and they don't acknowledge you, so this was a super plus for me. The shop is very clean and easy to find. I also thought it was cool how there was three other artitst there. One tattooing and the other two drawing up their sketches. Nice to see that nobody was just sitting on their asses. My sister heard great things about Eric from friends, so she said if I was going to get my first tattoo it should be from someone like him. I did my homework when it came to who I could trust with such an important task. He definitely did not disappoint. Both of my sister's decided to get tattoos and asked me to join. I've never gotten a tattoo or wanted one so this was scary. They wanted to get these autism puzzle pieces to honor my nephew who's been diagnosed. I couldn't wrap my head around that, I mean, first tattoos should be meaningful and sentimental to you. Yeah my nephew is special to me, but it just wasn't what I was feeling. So I had something else in mind. I called Eric to find out if it was possible to bring in something my grandma signed and her name be tattoo'd on me. He was actually super helpful on the phone, he told me it was a nice idea and shouldn't take long. I explained an anxiety issue and he said I won't even have time to feel it. He didnt pressure me either. Next day I jump in the car, drive from Santa Ana to Pomona to see Eric with my sisters. My first sister was up, Eric quietly went to work on her as I anxiously watched. He was patient as I wasn't exactly calm during the process. Once finished it was my turn. Eric took the Christmas card with the clearest signature and started sketching something. I expressed that I wanted to see if it was possible to somehow work a heart in. After Eric put together the design, he started working on my back. He placed the tattoo between my shoulder blades. It was small, maybe around 2 or so inches. I worried about the pain but there actually wasn't any, I just felt the punching against my skin. Crazy to think it didn't hurt. He explained that he needed to go as he didn't expect to do three tattoos. My sister explained that she told them it would be 3 and that the last one of us actually came from Arizona for this. He actually was really great and stayed later even though he needed to go home to his family which was amazing. He finished my other sisters tattoo and accepted our payments. They generally have an $80 minimum but since my tattoo was so small he gave it to me for $50. Still expensive but I'm happy with the quality. If you live close and want a tattoo, I definitely recommend seeing Eric. I didn't give 5 stars solely based on the cost. Otherwise such an amazing experience. read more

Tess who runs the shop and is the head piercer is awesome and always does a great job. Been coming to her since I was 18 and she's done several ear cartilage piercings, a triple forward helix, nose, and navel for me. This last time I had my navel pierced even though I've had it twice and it rejected twice (my body, not the shop's fault). This time Tess suggested piercing behind the previous scar so it might stay in place and it's been 3 months and no signs of rejection! Can't wait for more piercings by Tess! I also got my first tattoo here a few years ago and the artists are just super friendly and chill and will talk to you and put you at ease. I was able to book a piercing appointment the week of their second shutdown. The booking process was easy, and before that I messaged Tess on ig and she responded with information, which I appreciate. I don't think it was Tess who pierced my ears, and I only found out because at the end the girl who did them said to contact her or Tess if I had any questions or concerns regarding the piercing. Why I chose them: 1. I saw they had done a lot of charity work, support NPOs, and as a humanitarian, this was automatically a green light. 2. The day I walked in (I would have taken any available artist really), one of the artists gave me the honest suggestion that although he was free, he believed another gentleman was better suited for my design. He gave me the recommended artist's info. I found this to be ethical, and kind. 3. They had cat decorations everywhere, cat people are smart and cool. My tattoo experience: I walked in and my artist greeted me. He told me my proposed design was very complicated, and would not show up nicely on my skin, skin isn't paper. As a millennial, I was a little offended when he told me that the design wasn't reasonable. I was pretty upset at first, and even considered leaving. I almost threw a BF. Then, I had a moment of reflection. I decided that I am not a tattoo artist, and this man is an expert, I shouldn't challenge his expertise and knowledge. I agreed to let him interpret my design in a way that would be in my best interest. He drafted the art, and got to work. My artist used three different guns, and 6 different shades of black ink. The pain was pretty bad, but I believe he made it more manageable because he is a skilled artist. I believe my ability to tolerate the pain without MOVING, squirming or complaining was 80% my ability, and 20% his skill. If you don't take pain well, don't blame the artists when your tattoo sucks because you were wiggling like a worm the whole time. He was graceful and respectful the whole time. My artist treated my body, his tools, and the process with dignity, and pride. When we left, he offered a container of aftercare ointment. Upon getting home, I saw that he created the ointment himself. To me, this proves that he isn't just a tradesperson, this is his passion. I am an incredibly anxious person, and still, the entire experience was relaxing and enjoyable. I will recommend this shop, and this artist to anyone. OMG, Helen is the goddess of floral tattoos. She did this piece for me last Saturday and I am IN LOVE with the art, plus the experience was wonderful. She was the most down to earth, cool chick. She free handed the sketch onto my shoulder, so it really fits the form of my body. And she was so light handed while tattooing, the pain was no where near what I expected. It took about 2 hours total and even a few days later, I have no soreness at all. This was my first large tattoo so the fact that the pain was EASILY bearable really surprised me! I was given a nice sized bottle of NeilMed aftercare solution and instructions for the best result. Post appt there has been very little swelling and no pain. I picked up a couple crystal stud jewelry pieces for my previously pierced lobes so my new piercings from Tess blended nicely while they heal. I'm disappointed by an artist. The shop as a whole I've been to many times and loved, but a great shop that has an unprofessional artist gets a bad review. Sorry. There is an artist I had been trying to get into contact with for a while. Once I got in contact, she requested me to pay 40 dollars to place a hold on my appointment. Of course I was glad to do so. Fast forward one month later, the day before our 4 o'clock appointment. I get a dm at 9:30pm about her having to cancel our appointment because she had been in contact with someone who had covid. Obviously that's not what I'm upset about. I get it. We live in a covid world right now, so cancelations are inevitable. I'm just absolutely peeved by the fact that she posted that she was sick on her story 6 hours before letting me know. That's extremely unprofessional. She's a young artist so maybe she doesn't have a lot of experience with handling customers but damn it made me mad! Like I said though. I had an amazing experience here! I got my first tattoo, the gye nyame symbol on my wrist, and it turned out perfect! I was tattooed by Mark, and he was really cool. It was a spur of the moment tattoo, and I was sooo scared I wouldn't be able to handle the pain! But my experience was so awesome, I can't wait for my next tattoo! The people really helped my nerves, Tess gave me a soda, and Mark reassured me the pain is tolerable. Ok, don't laugh at me.. I have a nervous response to needles; the blood rushes from my head whenever something penetrates my skin, so I was really hoping that wouldn't happen.. Of course it did. It was maybe two minutes in, and I told him, "I'm gunn a pass out", so he laid my chair back, and Tess gave me a piece of chocolate :) once the blood was back in my head, we continued, and it didn't hurt at all. The initial stroke was the worst, but I got use to the feeling. The whole process took about 15 minutes for my little 1-inch tattoo, and it's perfect! I barely bled, this is the third day healing, and it's not even scabbed! It feels like it's perfectly healed, minus a little sensitivity. This might be because I washed the plasma off every few minutes, and kept it under vitamin A and D ointment.. I'm still soaking it in ointment, and I think it really helps the healing. It really wasn't that expensive either. I'll definitely be coming back, I had the best first-tattoo experience I could have imagined! Except the passing out part.. Hopefully it won't happen again. :) read more

I am only giving this place 1 star because I had my nose pierced here years ago and Tess was super nice. Decided to walk in last week and see if anyone had time to do a clam shell tattoo. Anthony was the artist I spoke too and was very nice and helpful. He only had time for 1 tattoo and my friend and I were getting matching clam shells. He then suggested that ami could tattoo 1 of us and he would do the other. I took a minute to check out her work and my friend checked out his and we both decided their work was really good and that I would go with ami and she would go with Anthony. WE BOTH LEFT DISAPPOINTED. Hers was super dark and mine has sloppy line work, weird choice of colors and is missing color throughout the whole thing! The pearl in the center doesn't look anything like a pearl. Over all looks very cartoony and nothing like what I wanted. And on a side note ami also tattooed my mom who is also unhappy. Again sloppy line work and weird choice of color! She was very rude and insulted a tattoo of hers that she loves. I'm so unhappy with my only visible tattoo. read more
