It was 4:50 when we left to get the certificate, and we went home got the certificate then headed back. It was 5:25 when we got back and apparently she had closed up and gone home even after she knew we were headed back to get the piercing. The piercings themselves are well done, she was informative when I asked about the piercing and which type of jewelry I should use. As well, my sister has gotten her eyebrows done here and they were done well. This experience was just very inconveniencing as we had to go there, go back, then go there again. I would recommend this place if you go earlier in the day, so there is no chance of them closing up early.

The process goes: complete an interest form online, they call to chat and set you up an appointment time with your preferred artist, go in and pay the down payment (CASH ONLY), they fill you in on the day-of process, and you go for your appointment. They were super clear and communicative about the process for everything, and very kind the whole time. Shira was fabulous, she didn't rush us even when my husband couldn't decide on size or placement. She was thorough, her designs incredible, did a great job, and even consulted about a cover up I want done. We're looking forward to having her do future tattoos! The shop is so cool, I loved just walking around. They have tons of merch and other cool stuff, but another warning it's all cash-only. They have an ATM on site if you need one. Look on their Instagram page for parking guidance, there's a map of where you can and can't park around the shop.

They recommended coming in after a few weeks so they can resize the piece, after swelling goes down. There is no extra charge for this. Any future adjustments are free as well, even if you purchase the jewelry elsewhere.

After waiting 53 minutes in the lobby with no updates, we asked for an estimate and were told there were still "a couple more" people ahead of us. At no point did anyone proactively communicate that the wait would be significantly longer than promised. When we expressed our frustration, staff didn't ask if we wanted to remain on the list--they told us they would simply remove us from it. We chose to leave. The owner followed us outside and asked what he could do to make things right. A genuine attempt would have been offering immediate service, a discount, or a gift certificate for the nearly hour-long wait. Instead, when we explained why we were upset, his response was, "You've gotta work with me here," before walking away. Delays happen. Tattoo and piercing shops get busy. The issue wasn't the wait--it was the inaccurate estimate, lack of communication, dismissive attitude, and complete failure to take responsibility when given the opportunity to resolve the situation. I've spent plenty of time in tattoo and piercing studios and understand how the industry works. What I don't understand is treating potential customers as though their time has no value. Based on this experience alone, I would never recommend Big Brain to anyone.

I really liked how it asked if you'd prefer a male or female piercer. Because of what I wanted to get done, I requested a female, and met Lexi. She made me feel so comfortable the entire time. Let me yap to get my nerves out, and really encouraged me to push through. I had such a validating and positive experience I brought my best friend by to get a few piercings herself. She had nothing but good things to say about her experience too! The front desk woman is a bit intimidating and blunt, so it was a little off putting. The Piercer was amazing and professional and clean. My son is not a fan of needles and of course this is right in front of his eyes. He closed them and did great til the end- and this is where the piercer shined. My son immediately afterward went white and clammy. Without any reaction but "you're fine, it's done, you were great, I'm here" encouragement, she sprang into action in the smoothest way possible- grabbed the trash bin, stepped to the faucet and got wet paper towels and applied the to his forehead, back of neck and lower back.
