From the minute I stepped into the office, everyone was so friendly and professional, I was very impressed. The office was clean and very sensibly laid out. Dr. Alan Arabi was very informative and performed a comprehensive exam. He took the time to understand my particular vision needs and prescribe accordingly. The nice lady Carmen, who manages the glasses selection, was super nice and helped me find the perfect frames. I was impressed with how many options they had to match your budget needs. I picked up the glasses this past week, which was also a super quick and easy trip. I immediately noticed the superb quality and better focus. I'm very disappointed in this clinic. Over the weekend I believe I have a contact lens in my right eye that I could not get out. I went into the clinic first thing Monday morning asking them for some kind of help as this is very unnerving. Instead of offering to even look at it to see if there was something stuck in there, they referred me to urgent care and said there's nothing they can do to help me. If it was something that needed medical treatment, they could've said yes it's in there and yes, we need you to go see your doctor. But has they looked and said that there was nothing in there it would've relieved my anxiety and I would've been able to just go to work. As their client, this is the least they could do to help me. I will not return to this clinic or refer it to anyone else in the area. read more

5 stars for Dr. Lee and Dr. Groom. They are great eye doctors. Professional, kind and excellent patient care. However their medical assistants and receptionist have horrible customer service, lack communication amongst staff and never seem to get things right. I have been going to this place for a few years and each year the ladies at the front desk always screw something up, which makes the visit unpleasant. I will be back for my yearly eye exam! This morning I stopped by to see if they would be able to fix my sunglasses. We are somewhat new to the area and I was unsure of where to go. I was greeted with friendliness and professionalism. The women right away took my sunglasses and then called me within 10 minutes to let me know they were fixed. HORRIBLE!! First off, it isn't easy for my husband and I to take time off of work. My husband had to be seen immediately for retinal blood vessels discovered in his eyes. Called, made an appointment to which the lady said was "this Thursday" ie. 7/12. I called on 7/12 to get address when the receptionist said it was made for 7/19. I explained that it was an emergency and she said he could come in on 7/13. We were bummed that we took 7/12 day off but knew we had to ask for 7/13 now. On 7/13, we were driving from Rancho Cucamunga area into Murrieta for the appointment. Noticed that we were gonna be ~5minutes late and gave them a courtesy call. They refused to see us!!! I told them that we were only 1 mile away and would be only a few minutes late and they said we had to come back on Monday! Screw these people...completely not understanding of the situation and of my husbands condition! read more

I found Lobue staff to be very helpful and friendly at the beginning when I was paying for their services and products. However, afterward, once everything was paid for, the customer service fell very short. I have had a couple of issues with them. My first issue was when I purchased progressive lenses. They upsold me on everything and I paid over $500 for the lenses (and that was with insurance). I primarily wear contacts, so the glasses were just for back-up purposes. They measured where in my vision of field the prescription should change and ordered the glasses to be made. I had never worn these type of lenses before so I wasn't really sure what to expect, or more specifically, I wasn't aware that I should try them on in front of a computer or something that I had to read in order to make sure the lenses were correct for near-sighted vision. They seemed fine when I tried them on for far-sighted distance. However, a few months later when I actually needed to wear them for work in front of my computer, I couldn't see a thing. I took my glasses back to Lobue and it turns out that the grading (or whatever they call it) of the different prescriptions within the lense was not at the accurate level for my near-sightedness. I asked them to fix it for me and I was told I would have to pay for a new set of lenses, which alone were around $300. Mind you I had spent over $500 on the glasses originally + a year's worth of progressive contact lenses. Needless to say, I wasn't going to pay another $300 for glasses that I only needed to wear occasionally. That was $500 down the drain. The next year when I needed a new set of contacts, I reluctantly went back to Lobue, because they were the closest center to my home. At this point, I didn't want to mess with progressive lenses of any sort; plus the contacts always seemed a bit fuzzy. So the next time, after a couple of tries, we found the right non-progressive prescription for working in front of the computer. I picked up my next set of contact lenses only to find that the prescription wasn't the strength we had agreed upon previously. I didn't know what the correct prescription was, I expected Lobue would have that info in my file - but they just had the wrong prescription strength. And guess what? After a lot of back and forth (and time wasted) I was told I would have to pay another exam fee to get the correct contact lense prescription. They refused to acknowledge the error on their part in either of these instances and instead of providing good customer service, they were more interested in trying to charge me more at every turn. I will not be returning. read more

I value my time and their receptionist Ana wasted my time. I called Lobue to schedule an appointment for a contact lens exam and fitting. I clearly informed the receptionist that I only needed the contact lens exam and not glasses as I have a very recent prescription from another optometrist. I asked what the fee is and was informed of the fee for the contact lens exam. When I arrived the receptionist who checked me in informed me that I needed to pay for both a contact lens exam and a eye exam for glasses. $155 for the glasses exam and $90ish for the contact lens exam. I promptly explained the conversation I had during scheduling and told her I just had the eye exam a few months ago. She asked me if I had the prescription with me. I told her yes it's actually in my car. She got up to ask Ana about it and Ana told her I had to pay for both exams anyway and that they wouldn't allow an outside prescription. I told them to cancel my appointment and I called another optometrist and scheduled an appointment for a contact lens exam only without a problem. The plus side is I realize that Lobue is overpriced as the fee at the other providers I called is much cheaper and they don't force a contact wearers to pay for two exams when they just received a new eyeglasses prescription from somewhere else. I have been a patient at Lobue for several years. I will no longer patronize their business. read more

I've been using Dr. Groom for the past two years now and have no complaints. She's great and has never rushed me through an exam. My mother has a degenerative eye disorder that apparently can also be passed through genetics. Upon my disclosure Dr. Groom was rightfully concerned and gave me honest feedback and always made sure that I was comfortable through all my screening processes. She was never short, or rude, but rather empathic and informative. The staff is also always real sweet and accomodating and I've never had problems with anything here. My only qualm is that their glasses and sunglass selection isn't the largest, but I always manage to find something I want anyway. read more

The female doctor that is there on Saturdays is knowledgeable, honest, and informative. The gal that assisted me and my son in picking out our frames is very nice and helpful. On my first of 3-6 visits, they were late, so I had to extend my lunch hour so that I could be examined. After a few weeks, I returned to have my glasses corrected because I couldn't see. I returned a few weeks later because I still couldn't see... I had a new doctor, for a new exam, and a new perscription this round. After a couple months of trying to get used to the perscription, I still couldn't see. I called to return the frames and lenses because I was so disappointed, but I was told nothing was returnable. All I was offered was ANOTHER exam... I praised them for their customer service, but I wanted my money back. I knew I would have to go somewhere else and pay OUT OF POCKET because they were incapable of giving me a correct perscription. I DID NOT want to return to a place that wasn't a guarantee that I would be comfortable in my glasses! I was told too much time had passed. Excuse me???? Its my fault because I couldn't see? I tried to make the glasses work, I wanted my eyes to adjust and they didn't but its MY FAULT that they didn't work??????? OH, and I wrote an email through their "contact us" link, and have yet to hear from Dr. Lobue, because I sure didn't talk to him when I wanted my money back. My experience was horrible... and I didn't even get a chance to see the DR. I made an appointment for my two children. when I did, the standard what are the names, DOB and insurance was given over phone. They called me later that day saying they had a cancellation and asked if I could make it in later that day. I wasn't able too, so I kept my original appointment. The day before my Appointment they again called me to verify the appointment for my two children. so count that...that is THREE TIMES they looked up my children's record. I had my mother leave work early to watch my baby, so I wouldn't be distracted during the exam, took my oldest out of school early and arrived 15 minutes early. my appointment was at 1:30 for my son. At 1:50 they came out to tell me that they don't take patients under the age of 5! EXCUSE ME???? Why the heck are you just now telling me this???? After you got the hold on my insurance, looked up his file with his DOB on it three different times, and tell me 20 minutes after his appointment was suppose to start. ( 35 after I arrived at the office) I AM SO MAD! and to top it off they never apologized. just used some lame excuse that they are understaffed so its an over sight. That's not my problem! I already informed my insurance of this unprofessional place, and now here. Then they actually had the audacity to ask me if I wanted my daughter to be seen still. HAHA yeah right...they can't even look at child's DOB and realize he is under five...you really think I want you doing anything medical with my kids?? If I could give 0 stars I would.. Save you the headache and go to Spectrum Vision right down the street next to Albertsons. read more

No response to my prior YELP comments regarding the vision center at the Lobue office located off Cal Oaks Blvd. Dr. Lobue and staff are excellent however the servicing of prescriptions/glasses is very bad.Mistakes with lens, miss-fitting frames without corrections or replacements which I would gladly share costs. Dr. Julie Groom at Lobue has been our family optometrist for several years. I can't say enough good things about her and the staff. Dr. Groom is the nicest, most patient eye doctor I have ever seen, and after your visit you feel like you're new friends! The staff goes above and beyond to make sure you are happy. The only criticism I have is that the frame selections isn't as large as some bigger offices, but they carry the latest trends and designer brands (Tiffany, Juicy Couture, Oakley...), and if you want a pair that you saw elsewhere, they are happy to order them for you. I've always gotten my glasses quicker than the stated turnaround, and recently, they were able to get my insurance to cover my new glasses even though I was a couple of months away from being eligible for a new pair. It was nice to go through the process of revalidating my prescription (I wonder sometimes if my eyes are changing).
