This is a solid resonably priced place in the heart of Inman. The coffee is good. The scene is organic, but not dodgy. The wifi is easy to connect to and fast. As far as the products and offering, options like simple syrup, and pasta strands to stir with are nice touches. I have yet to try and any of their baked goods, but they do have an assortment. On my last trip I noticed a stronger push into a bar business. Solid draft beers are $3.50-5, and there was an offering for a $5 Espresso Martini on the menu. Sure it was only 11AM, but it did have my thinking about long days on a patio, or relaxed nights as a good first quarter spot. There is a lot for parking within the complex which is a plus as well since this area is only becoming more and more crowded. read more

Whenever I'm in the city I try and stop by for a large latte and a Danish. The counter space is a little awkward, they should have a bigger counter for when they finish making your beverage. The Inman in Gainesville seems to have a more "artsy" vibe especially with their back patio. Other than that, this is one of my favorite spots to go with a friend to catch up. I wouldn't recommend studying here because at times it does get a little loud. read more

Croissants from a bakery -- I think these are from Alon's Bakery -- only stay fresh for part of the day after they're baked, and definitely not for over 24 hours. The croissant I was served tasted like it had been baked yesterday. This isn't the first time I've purchased a stale croissant here, so it's my fault for buying it, I guess, but still annoying. This is an okay coffee house. The atmosphere is pretty indie and it is a quiet place to get work done with plenty of seating. The actual beverages and bakery items are slightly above average at double the average cost. I was suprised when the bill was totaled but it is what it is. Plentiful tables, plentiful outlets. House coffee and iced coffee are pretty poor and taste sour. Their espresso drinks, including americanos are better. Wish I could give an extra star, but wifi has become spotty over the years. And recently has been intermittently sluggish even when it does work. Inman Perk is a nice little spot nestled into Inman Park. Located right off of the Beltline, it's an easily accessible spot to bike or walk. Seating inside fills up relatively quickly, especially on the weekends but usually you can nab a spot outside. You can park for free for a couple of hours inside the garage located right next to it, too (not the one across the street!) The coffee is good and they have a loyalty punch card. I love their hazelnut syrup, especially in the iced coffee. A little expensive for the coffee but nothing too crazy. They also have a wide assortment of bakery and food items, the breakfast quiche is really yummy! They also serve beer/wine and boozy drinks (like adult milkshakes) that are reasonably priced and a fun experience! The line/wait can be a little slow especially on the weekend mornings if you order food but it's tasty and worth the wait! read more

This coffee shop is in a really busy area. Get there early to try to find street parking. It was cute vibes. Close to the belt line so I can see why people stop by to get small foods and drinks. I got their matcha drink, it was way too overpriced in my opinion. I came here to study and get some work done, I ended up people watching instead. Partially because the internet here sucks too! Didn't spend much time here, but I was traveling through town and saw some good reviews. The line was long, but they blew through it with quickness. Bagels and lox very good, smoked salmon was fresh. They were open in the snow day today so props to them. Inman perk is a cute local coffee shop w food options, coffee options, and even gelato. It's right off the belt line in Inman park so would be a good place to stop and read a book if you're having an evening stroll. They have some cool drink options like coconut water and Kombucha. It tends to be fairly crowded w both table and couch seating. There's a good amount of outlets too ! The baristas have always been friendly. Pro tip - there's a parking garage on the side of the building in which customers can park in spots marked retail for up to three hours. read more

I do enjoy this place, especially when I'm meeting a friend or want to get some work done. They have good coffee, decent food, and even ice cream. Prices are probably way too high for the quality of food you're getting, but it's Old Fourth Ward, so I've never been shocked or angry at the prices. The atmosphere is good in this place when it isn't too crowded. I love the window seating and the tables with all the little succulents. I usually get a lot of work done here. Don't expect stellar service here. No one seems particularly happy to see you. I get a lot of blank stares and what feels like impatience when I ask questions about anything on the menu. Not great for my anxiety, because I always end up rushing my order. I've gotten a little resistance when asking for my receipt or the WiFi password. Not stellar service, but no one has ever been blatantly rude or inappropriate. Also, it gets a little crowded on busy days, and occasionally you'll find families come in too. Loud families with small children (I'm guessing for ice cream). So I try to limit my visits to slow periods when the atmosphere will stay mellow. I always got the caramel macchiato and this is one of the few places where they're generous with the caramel and you can actually taste it in the drink, which I really appreciated. I am so sad I haven't tried this place earlier. I'm blown away. Not only do they have plenty of coffee and tea options, but they have pastries, ice cream, king of pops, a FULL bar with wine specials, and breakfast all day. You cant get any better than that. I ordered a lox bagel and my normal chai tea. I didn't ask for my bagel any certain way but wow! They included capers, my favorite, and toasted it to perfection. I just can't put my finger on it. There's something about Inman Perk that doesn't make me feel the urge to return. Sure, the chai was fine, there's quick free wi-fi, and I was eventually able to find a plug (unfortunately it was in the floor and people kept tripping on it, but a girl's got to do what a girl's got to do, right)... but the whole place just seemed "off." Especially in comparison to my regular haunt, Octane. Maybe it was the couple sitting on the couch who would rotate naps (seriously, they would zonk out, snoring and all), maybe it was that guy who kinda sorta looked like a kid I went to high school with, maybe it was that service was not exactly friendly and no one ever cleared any of the tables. I don't know, that magical essence that turns a coffeeshop into a hangout just wasn't there. All this being said, I'd return if in the neighborhood, as I like all of the natural light along the little awkward hallway in the back, and it's not like things were bad. If this were a relationship, it would be an abusive one. Finally, I woke up and decided like J. Lo, enough is enough. Recently, they have relocated down the street to admittedly a better looking location. It's pretty much the same, they brought over the same furniture and fixtures to the new larger place but with better lighting. Thus giving the illusion that this space is much more expansive. You don't feel so cloistered like the previous location. Until that is you interact with the staff. There's not enough room for you and their rudeness or flippancy. It's a hit or miss experience. Some of the staff are fantastic but when you get the one or three that are off, your mind begins to have a "Scrubs" moment where you fantasize violence. Folks, it's coffee!!! In this week alone, I was given the wrong latte (after having waited 10 mins.), cream cheese (strawberry instead of regular with garlic bagel...not a good combination folks), a watery speciality drink, and finally tonight I was told at 9pm that they were not allowed to brew anymore coffee!!! First, I was only aware of the time b/c two of the four self-serve pots were empty. I politely asked if they had anymore in the back or were going to make more. A ditzy girl informed me that they had to stop brewing coffee. This is when I asked for the time, (9pm on a Sunday), and realized that they still had two hours left before they closed. Amazed, I asked again "what, are you guys seriously going to stop brewing coffee with 2hrs. remaining and customers still coming in?" "Yes." Baffled? So, was I. What could I do, other than giving the said girl the evil eye through out the night? Was it passive aggressive? Yes, and more passive since she never noticed. I just poured the remaining pot of defcaf. I really didn't feel like fighting, I had enough on my mind. 20 mins. later with a line of new customers the other girl brewed three more pots. And now, it's time to move on and never look back again! read more

Inman Perk is probably the coziest spot to curl up or grab a chair for a workday in the whole of Inman. I was looking forward to checking these guys out and wanted to stop in for a cup of coffee or spend a good part of my day to enjoy the ambiance. The best part of IP is definitely the setting. I absolutely love the setup and the lounge-y spaces they have provided. The biggest win is the small alcove in the back corner with all of the cozy chairs and books on the shelves. Feels like a college library mixed with a well worn living room. I really dig it. I'm a large proponent of a cushy chair to sit in whilst slinging emails out into the internets. It was nice to see that Inman Perk had plenty. My first experience with these guys was A-OK. Nothing amazing, but it was good. We stopped in on a chilly day for some hot cocoa and cider from our walk on the BeltLine. The place was absolutely mobbed and many of the customers were pretty rude and outwardly acting with an "I own this table/seat" attitude." It made the ordering process a bit of a cluster, but the people behind the counter were really nice. It took a little while for our drinks to pop up on the counter and they were both familiar and satisfying. It is nice to see another shop selling Intelligentsia Coffee as there aren't many in the city. I asked one of the folks behind the bar if they sell any other roasts than Black Cat (probably their most popular) and they said they can also sell bulk beans if they aren't already packaged and on the shelf. Good to know. I'm looking forward to a return visit on a weekday and maybe in the late morning. Sunday afternoons may not be my first choice, but I'm glad I had a chance to check it out. read more

I think I've left one review on Yelp in my lifetime, but I felt like I needed to leave one for Inman Perk. I'm not easily irritated but WOW, the staff that took my order was so incredibly rude, I almost have no words. I did ask his name after I finally got my iced tea, and he said "Chris", but I'm not really sure if he told me his real name since he had a look of "oh, i know why she wants to know my name... she's going to complain about me". Something tells me it's not the first time. I had just left Highland Bakery down the street (which is EXCELLENT on so many levels, I'm realizing that after I leave this negative review, I should leave a glowing one for them afterwards) and I was trying to find a coffee shop nearby to get some work done (I live in Tucker, so it's a bit of a hike for me, but Highland Bakery is so totally worth it). I saw Inman Perk and saw that they even had complimentary parking in a parking garage which was a big plus! I walked up to the coffee shop and "Chris" opened the door and was peering out looking for someone I guess. I thought maybe he didn't see me standing there, but then I realized he did, he just didn't care. So, when he finally moved so that I could walk in... there was no "hi" or anything. (I thought at first he must not work there from the way he acted.) So I walked up to the counter and "Chris" just stood there.. no greeting, not anything. I decided on my tea and he just went through the motions on the ipad and we completed the transaction. No tip left thinking he would be the one making the tea. He then proceeds to yuck it up with a cop that is in line behind me and they fill his cup immediately and I'm just standing there wondering "what do i do next". So, I'm just waiting and I don't see anyone making my tea. Finally the other staff person saw me staring at him and said "Your tea will take around 3 minutes". Which is totally fine! But "Chris" could've told me that. So I went to sit down. After more than 3 minutes passed, I went back up to the counter, and "Chris" saw me standing there and was like "that was your buzzer". I was confused because I heard no buzzer. All he could have said was "oh! That was your buzzer, I'll get your tea, thanks for waiting" or something like that. So, he puts my tea in the cup and walks over to me and yells "Organic Breakfast Tea Ready!!!"... so obviously being an ass, knowing I'm standing right there. I then asked him his name and he just blankly said "Chris". WHAT A DICK. Seriously, what.a.dick. I can see from other reviews that people have mentioned the rudeness of the staff. It's sad to me that an otherwise fantastic coffee shop (great open space, lots of seating, lots of outlets, lots of natural light, great parking) that the owners of the place would listen to the fact that their staff is incredibly rude. I keep reading that Inman Perk is second place to Octane. Seriously? Is this the same Octane that charges almost $3.00 (with pocket change) for your second refill of coffee? The same Octane that gives NO FREE REFILL on a MOSTLY ICE iced tea? I say N to the O in response to the trendy Yelp literati!!! Inman Perk is a good egg. They have plenty o'seating and plenty o'plugs for laptops. I realize the plugs are in the floor, but at least you don't have to run a ten foot extension cord like at Octane. Plus, come one people, stop tripp'n... right foot...left foot...right foot...left foot... (repeat). Here is my experience with Inman Perk: The coffee is good and they have unlimited 55 cent refills. (HEAR THAT OCTANE!?) Additionally, I got a fairly large field greens, feta, almond and cranberry salad for $2.80 and a decent Turkey/Swiss/Spinach panini on ciabatta for $5.50. Taken together, this is still less than one sandwich (with no side) at Octane. I am reading this back to myself and realize I sound like a crazy cheap-ass who is ready to pickett all business that take advantage of unfathonable mark-ups on refills. Maybe I am, but I am also tired of 'the hip spot' getting props over a place that just offers what I need: speedy free wifi, a comfy place to sit, affordable food and the incentive to stay and relax (plenty o'free garage parking, books, games, ice cream, etc.). Ask yourself why these other places (insert coffee shop) screw you on the refills. They want you to pay $3.00 for a cup of bean juice and then get the hell out to make rooom for another bean juice buyer. The coffee is really good, but the sandwiches and pastries are a bit old. The outdoor seating can be nice, especially if you have a dog, since they provide water bowls and places to strap the doggy's leash. Unfortunately, there is hardly any covering making it an uncomfortable choice in rain or bright sunshine. Inside the coffee house do not DARE have a conversation. This was my first time coming to this coffee shop and this was exactly what I was looking for. I ordered the Jasmine Green Tea and it was delicious! The tables were fairly full around 11:30, but I found a great couch to sit and study. There were numerous people working, reading, and enjoying the light music and a warm drink. If you need a quiet place with plenty of power outlets, Inman Perk is the best place. The atmosphere is perfect. It's like being in a library with sofas and a coffee shoppe. The staff go out of their way to maintain the atmosphere for their loyal customers. Anyone who isn't there to study, write, etc is given a good cold shoulder by the staff and made known that they're not welcome. I really appreciate this kind of service because I'm never too sure how to deal with situations where you have 2 people talking to each other on a couch but are kind of ruining the peace and quiet for the whole coffee shop. Even if the talkers don't take the hint after getting their drinks and/or food, the barista will usually glower at them until they leave. Better him than me. I always like to think of the barista as the Sentinel of Silence. The coffee is ok, and they always seem to be out of cream. But other than those two gripes, the place is really great. read more

Inman Perk, located just off Inman Park, is a cool, clean, hip coffee shop with free wifi and generally lots of seating and tables. Students and anyone with a laptop regularly fill the chairs and cover the tables with their stuff while drinking the liquids served from the coffee bar. With a nice patio and areas to tie down your dog's leash or just sit in the shade on a sunny day, Inman Perk is an excellent young and modern (and those pretending) coffee shop. With one wall full of books, magazines, and even games, and another one a complete chalk board, it has the makings of a truly great and memorable experience. Unfortunately, all too often my friends and I have received sub-par drinks. Lattes with too much foam (well, really any drink seems to have too much foam from here) and mochas where the chocolate has been allowed to simply sit at the bottom of the cup, having not been mixed well enough to create a single unified drink. I wouldn't even call it a lack of a real recipes for their drinks, it's the lack of consistent technique. Every barista makes most drinks their own way... and not all of them know how to make any drinks. It does take some time to learn which baristas rock the bar and which ones all out suck. But the learning curve gets annoying and so I've given up and simply order plain coffee these days. Fortunately, in this area Inman Perk actually excels. Rather than serve you a cup full of coffee, they give you the cup and tell you to go get it yourself from their selection of coffee canisters. This is great because refills are free for your entire visit. Nevermind trying to get bar-made drinks from Inman Perk, go for the regular cup of black stuff and the free wifi. People watching is pretty great here too. Lots and lots of people traffic through here daily and if you enjoy watching folks, this is a good spot to do it. read more

Inman Perk has moved a hop, skip and a jump away from the Elizabeth St. location. They now occupy a space under 'N. Highland Steel' lofts on N. Highland. I have to say I like the old location better, there was cozy outside seating, and it had a nice living room feel. I liked the set up, and even with the concrete floors, contemporary furniture, and planked ceilings, it somehow still felt really homey. The new location has a lot more natural light inside, and while that's nice, it lends somehow to a colder feel (the lofts above describe themselves as 'urban-chic'--you get the idea). I think the square footage is a bit less and there are fewer nooks and places to cozy up with a good book and a cup of hot chocolate (which they do impeccably, by the way). When I walk into this place now and it's crowded, everyone immediately looks up so you better know where you're going and what you're doing. Reminds me of the lunch room cafeteria in high school, where you have to scan the room quickly for an open seat, and if there isn't one, you either ::gulp:: ask to share couch space, or get that latte and muffin to go and eat lunch with your homeroom teacher. While it seems I'm still a touch bitter about the move, there are a number of fine Inman Perk qualities: A lot is a little less expensive than their neighborhood competitors.There's free WiFi! Hooray! It's bright and clean and supports local artists. I haven't ordered a single tea, cup of joe or any espresso-based beverage here that wasn't good--and they have a cute name, to boot. Looking for a coffee shop with a patio to help mitigate my Vitamin-D deficiency while studying, yelp helpfully suggested Inman Perk. Free parking, patio, caffeine, well check, check and check. My iced American was big, dark, and strong. Almost good enough to give my beloved iced coffee from Joe's a run for its money. While I watched them brew the espresso, I drooled over the case of Jake's Ice Cream, vowing that next time I would return for a scoop of the red velvet. Or the chocolate overload. Or the pistachio. Or maybe all three (yum). I liked the nooks and crannies in this space and the laptop friendliness of it. Even at 2pm on a Saturday, there were a variety of seating options available, from the big communal table of laptop dwellers, to a comfy looking couch, to a small table for two by the window. I opted for a wrought-iron highboy outside, and let the passerby distract me from my homework while I sipped my drink. Yayy an Atlanta coffee shop that sell Intelligentsia Coffee. My ice coffee was excellent. You can ask them to heat up your pastry. I had a strawberry danish, it was yummy. Plenty of tables and plugs for laptop, so you can stay to work or study. The only problem i got was that my Lenovo cannot connect to the 5Ghz wifi ( my laptop only have Wireless-N 7260 single band card ...i know right -_- ) but my LG G3 can connect to internet fine, its super fast. read more
