Coffee is good. There was a lot of middle school age kids hanging out which was a little bit of a bummer. Other then that. It was good.

I love Inman Perk, and am so glad that there is one close to home! Their coffee and espresso is very good, and they have great options of beans to take home with. Mostly fair trade and have a very organic atmosphere. They have a wonderful back porch to relax on during a beautiful day. The owners and staff are always so friendly and personable. I am not a coffee afficianado - I can differentiate between strong and weak coffee! :) However, what I really liked about Inman Perk was the decor and ambiance. I am not a "corporate hater" but, unlike the cookie cutter Starbucks, Inman Perk has a glot of character. There are books available along the wall and wifi. I did like that they have a variety of items aside from coffee. I got a hot cider and my date got tea. The location on the Gainesville square is fantastic! I love this place! I come here often and the staff know me by face and name. It has a calm and cozy atmosphere that you just don't get at national chains. You can bring in your dog when your out on a walk, read a book, or talk with the locals on their front and back patios. On the subject of the back, they just replaced the over head awning. The old one had several holes and made it hard to find a dry spot when it rains. Thanks for keeping your customers in mind! This is the cutest little coffee shop on the cutest little downtown square of Gainesville. The atmosphere of this little shop is popular, yet underground at the same time. You won't feel like you're in a chain coffee shop, although there's another Inman Perk in Inman Park in Atlanta, which is just as cool. It's never packed like a Starbucks, but there's always a good crowd there that makes you think "this place is probably pretty good." The drinks are great, and the baristas will accommodate pretty much any request you have. They have a decent food selection with sandwiches, cookies, muffins, and even ice cream! I'd happily spend any afternoon here sitting on a comfy couch with a chai tea latte and a good book! read more

I went twice in one day and had very different experiences each time. I was in town on work, and I went to Inman Perk about 30 mins after opening on a Friday morning to pick up 4 drinks for myself and coworkers. There was only 1 woman working, and she was not prepared for customers at all. It took quite a while for her to get around to ringing me up and even starting to make my drinks. I was the only person in there, and I waited about 25 minutes for drinks. Yikes! They were good at the end of it though, so I'm not entirely unhappy. Then my coworkers and I went back after lunch for an afternoon pickmeup, and there were 2 different people working there. Much more put together and a much better vibe. I'd go back, but maybe not for my morning fix. read more

Great coffee place! I'll preface by stating that I'm a Starbucks girl and prefer their coffee over anyone else's. However, I work right down the street from Inman Coffee and since there isn't a Starbucks in walking distance, I decided to give this place a shot. I was immediately greeted by the staff, and they were very helpful in providing their recommendations. Now I'll admit, I'm pretty simple and either get a regular dark roast coffee or Americano with toffee nut flavoring and steamed soy milk, but for some reason their coffee just hit the spot, and I thought it tasted better than Starbucks! Perhaps they made it with more love than Starbucks? ‍ Lol. Either way, this is my new fave coffee shop and I'm already back for round 2! In addition, it's very cozy and they have nice lounge chairs and tables. Although I haven't tried any of their pastries, they looked very fresh! I have never had a rude person wait on me or a rude word spoken. Everyone there is so nice and friendly and helpful. I would go there way more often, however, if the prices on the coffee drinks were a little less, say 50 cent to a dollar less. Same for the ice cream. Love how they have comfy couches to sit on, instead of hard wooden chairs. I used to frequently stop by here for the ice cream. I have been a patron for years at this shop however, tonight I was driven to give this poor rating. Normally I go during the day. The young night staff was too busy entertaining peers to acknowledge me or my boyfriend. I stood there waiting long enough that it was awkward while they all stood there eating... no one was making drinks or food and no one made a purchase. Delicious! A cut above the chains! You know those chain coffee joints that are everywhere? Of course you do! They're filled with pretentious hipsters and the coffee is burnt in roasting to disguise the fact that it tastes like rank sewer water! Well this isn't that, son. Inman Perk is absolutely delicious. Their coffee is roasted with care and attention then brewed to perfection. You can even drink it black. The service is attentive and helpful and on the whole the place is right on the money. If you're on the Square and need a pick me up, you can't go wrong here. They even have a wide array of books and board games for you to occupy yourself with while you drink. I love this place. A few times a year we come to Gainesville, GA and we always enjoy stopping at Inman Perk and getting coffee. The coffee is always really good. I love iced coffee but need it decaf and the barista at Inman Perk was happy to accommodate me by making a decaf iced americano with room for cream. She even recommended adding chocolate flavor and that made it delicious! Since my husband is in grad school right now, we actually visited twice this time we were in town and stayed there so he could work. Between the coffee, the environment and the customer service we had a great time. We will definitely be back when we are in town next time! read more

Inman Perk of Gainesville offers a little taste of downtown Atlanta without having to take the road trip from north Georgia and search for a parking space. Seating is limited, but cozy. Atmosphere is authentic and unique. If you want a cozy atmosphere to sit and enjoy a cup for a little while this is your best bet in Gainesville. Coffee and food could be better. Let's see, the forgot to bring my wife's scone (microwaved, of course), our shoes stuck to the floor, the comparison and attempt to be Central Perk from Friends was painfully obvious and the people behind the counter seemed more interested in talking about their hipster lifestyle than actually making sure there were products for their customer (one chick actually asked for Half & Half...twice). But, the coffee is tasty and delicious, so that managed to squeeze out another star. Except my wife's, who's caramel machiatto necessitated an entire bag of sugar. Short story? Inman Perk is an oasis in the desert of corporate madness. This is a place where local artists put their work on the walls. The couches and chairs are scattered comfortably and there is always someone to talk to. There is free wi-fi and they have outlets for your electronics all over. There is an informal "library" with books and magazines; trivia cards are tucked next to the couches for a quick game. They offer amazing ice cream from Atlanta, pastries, cookies, cakes, as well as pastas and salads made by their resident chef Tim. The coffee is always fresh, delicious, and well-made. The staff is great, for the most part. Shannon and Dorthy are wonderful. There is only one staff member who rubs me the wrong way, a guy (Pat?Patrick?). He is very abrupt and on more than one occasion, rude to his coworkers loud enough that the customers can hear. I suppose everyone has off days, but it makes it so that I do not like to go in when he is there. Other than that, this is the perfect place. This place is amazing. I live about a 6-minute walk away, so I have to come at least a few times a week. The ladies and gents who work here are so sweet and polite, and the coffee and food is amazing. The Vietnamese cold brew and the gluten-free brownie are awesome. Please also try the smoothies. Yum!!
