The cabin was clean, cozy, and very well equipped, with a comfortable bed, a full kitchen, a fridge/freezer that was especially useful for our fishing trip, Wi-Fi, and bathroom essentials. It truly felt like a home away from home. The river right outside the cabin was beautiful, and the dock was easy to access. Hong even provided fishing poles and bait, which made it easy to fish whenever we wanted. We also enjoyed meeting other guests on the dock, which added to the warm, relaxed atmosphere. The resort is close to the beach but still far enough from the crowds to offer the peace and quiet we were looking for. Hong was an outstanding host and made our trip even better with his local tips and recommendations during Dory Days festival that was happening the same weekend. He was always available if we needed anything, even after my partner forgot the door code and accidentally set off the alarm. This place was recommended by the charter company we booked our fishing trip with, and I'm so glad we stayed here. I highly recommend Raines Resort for a relaxing, stress-free getaway, and we'll definitely be back.

My husband, our little girl dog and I decided to stay at Raines Resort for one night before we drive up to visit the Tillamook Creamery (which is ~ 35 minutes away but is cheaper staying here than some of the other hotels closer). If you make a booking online directly through Raines Resort's website, it is cheaper and there is also a small discount if you stay 2 nights or more. We stayed in C3, one of their cabins that has a wonderful view of the river (just steps from your balcony). What is really nice about this cabin is that there is also a kitchen, which is something we really wanted so that we could cook our meal and also a meal for our little girl (yes we primarily cook all of our meals for her). It is nice that the kitchen has dishware, utensils, cookware, coffee, etc. But you would have to bring your own cooking oil and seasoning. There is also a full size fridge that has a freezer, which is greatly appreciated because from other hotels that we have stayed in, although there is a mini fridge, the mini fridge doesn't have a freezer and we have things that we would like to freeze (ice packs and also like to freeze bottled water to keep our food items cold in our cooler). There is a parking spot that you can park right in front of your cabin, which makes for easy loading and unloading. The bed we had was nice and comfortable. The place itself was clean. The bathroom was small though but was fine for our stay. Prior to our stay, Hong (the manager and possibly the owner?) contacted me via text message to ask me if I knew what time I would be arriving. I had told him that it would most likely be after the office is closed since we were on a road trip. He told me that it wouldn't be a problem and gave me the door code to get in and also said that he was going to be out of town so that most likely we would not meet him. But he was very good at checking in with me via text message, which I greatly appreciated. Overall, we all really enjoyed our stay and would stay here again when passing through this part of Oregon.

The man staffing the office when I checked in on a Thursday night was really nice. Not in a forced way, nor did he seem like he was tired that he does this every day. He was truly kind, relaxed, helpful and informative. And there was a lot of information to give. The record library that you can borrow from is extensive, I barely scratched the surface (not of the records of course!). Having the update of a door code instead of keys was nice. The rooms were generous in size and had everything we needed - desk for piling my stuff on, TV, single serve coffee maker, two beds, bathroom, mini fridge and microwave. Couple notes that really don't count against the place but just to make one aware - the beds felt like maybe they weren't quite queen sized but almost full sized? I don't know, I couldn't figure it out but then again, I haven't slept in a queen in awhile. But they were comfortable. Also, where the coffee maker was, on the desk under the TV, there were no outlets. Two blank outlet covers under the desk and the outlet being taken up for the TV but no outlet for the coffee maker. I ended up putting it on a nightstand. Works fine, just a weird thing. I really loved the faux-vintage mini fridges and in some rooms, matching microwaves. Location of this hotel is great, you can walk to most things quite easily. No sidewalks, but that's ok. I would stay here again!

Cons: Rabbits everywhere and that means rabbit poop everywhere and dogs are constantly barking. Coaxial at the site doesn't work. WiFi for a dollar a day and it was overpriced for the connection and speed we were getting. Sites are on top of each other. We wanted a specific site. Didn't get it and it stayed unoccupied until our last day. They do not take reservations. At least that's what they told us on the phone. I was also told that 2 weeks was the max stay. Some of the travel trailers looked like they'd been there way longer than that.

VERY professional, friendly, and helpful. This was true for every staff member I encountered. One of the housekeepers asked me in the elevator how I enjoyed my stay as I was leaving, which I found particularly nice. The hotel is a bit light on amenities (no spa, no swimming pool), and dining options are universally subpar. Prices also seem high for what you're actually getting.

Things have changed recently and we most likely will not be coming back. The small cabins used to be 95-120.00 a night and this year increased to 220-280 a night. Just for reference a 3/4 star hotel in the same area runs between 200-350 a night. We decided to get a tent space instead as we love the tradition of coming and love the area. PROS: Dog Friendly Fairly clean overall 2 min walk to the beach Playground Indoor pool Cabins have heat and privacy fencing Maintenance people are very helpful Parking is manageable even on a busy weekend CONS: Price, there are cheaper places a little less close to the beach Tent spaces are so close together and so so small. Our tents were physically touching both our neighbors. WIFI is nonexistent Bathrooms desperately need to be updated They have a fairly large conference room that you used to be able to reserve for free (helpful when it's raining) and now it's 100.00 a day. It sits empty, I've never seen anyone use it. Our 4 day/3 night trip was a mix of sun and rain, our camp site got muddy very quickly. And because the tent sites are so small (they stopped letting you tent near the trees) it felt very crowded even with our small group. We still had fun, we like to thrift in Tillamook and climb the dune. On the rainy parts of the day the indoor pool is a lifesaver if you have kids. Each tent site has water and an outlet for power, ours went out the second night but maintenance fixed it by our last night. We filled our down time with s'mores and board games. Wood is now 10.00 a bundle, we suggest buying it in Tillamook for 5.00. Dory's Pizza is take out only, their website doesn't work but they have a QR code on the door for ordering. We had a meh kind of time, we are glad we didn't spring for the cabins. Bunnies are still there multiplying and they look to be adding in a miniature golf course. The pictures are of my now 22 year old this year and him in one of our earliest trips staying in their cabins.

It was $10 to buy a bundle of firewood and we enjoyed building a fire outside at our site. This place was definitely a little pricier than some other nearby areas, but in my opinion it was well worth it. The showers and bathrooms were clean and the views of the beach right from the site were spectacular. Give them a shot!
