Picture this: Sicily, 1942 Just kidding. Any Golden Girls fans? The man and I were in town during the 3 Lakes Ice Fishing Tournament this February, and had reservations at the Inn at Silvercreek for our time up in Granby; this location was super central to the surrounding area, and had so many different conveniences in close proximity - grocery store, restaurant options, liquor store (lol), bait shop, etc. The lodge is pretty big, and is most certainly a popular spot for people in the area to stay. What we didn't realize at the time, though, was that most units are privately owned, and vary significantly in quality/upkeep. So, rather than making reservations through the hotel itself, many of the units are posted on sites like Air BNB, and you can get a feel for what it is that you're getting for your stay (this is definitely something we plan on doing the next time we're in town). Parking is a little tough in the front of the building, but there are tons and tons of spots in the back when you actually get your room. Since we were there during such a busy time of year, the parking lot was jam packed, but I imagine it's super easy to find a good spot most other times of the year. Anyway. I was a little surprised by how well kept the main area of the hotel was for as old as it was; carpets were in pretty good condition, fixtures, wood on the walls, everything. Once we got to the front desks, a young man got us all squared away, and went the extra mile to be sure we were comfortable with what we were getting. My BF was on crutches at the time, so getting around was a little difficult, but this man offered a room that might be a bit easier for us to get to, and looked for rooms as close to the elevator as possible. He was super sweet, and we really appreciated his attentiveness. After checking in, we wanted to unload all our belongings into the room to get settled in for the weekend. One thing I really liked about this place was what I saw on the walk to our room... barber shop, tattoo parlor, small library, children's play area, arcade, full blown bar, and a separate (really nice) restaurant... it was insane! I'm sure there are other places that exist that are packed full of other businesses like this, but it'd been the first time I'd ever seen such a thing, and it was so rad! We were super excited to hit up the bar and arcade at that point. Now before, I said how refreshing it was that the older interior of the lobby area was so well kept. Our room... not so much. It was definitely old and worn: the heating unit was one of the old school types along the floor (which I'm sure everyone has stubbed a toe on at least once in their lives), the carpet wasn't too impressive, and the walls/fixtures were just super outdated. The whole room just felt kind of old and musty. It was also pretty small; definitely smaller than any other hotel room I've ever been in, and felt pretty cramped. This wasn't the end of the world, but now we know that Airbnb is the way to go next time we find ourselves in Granby. Over the weekend, we visited their in house restaurant a couple of times, and each time, the food was super delicious. Since I'm waiting so long to actually review this place, I don't remember what we had, exactly, but it was so so yummy each time we went. The waitstaff was pretty awesome and attentive, and the dining area wasn't ever really packed, so we felt at ease and relaxed both times we dined, which is always super key for us. We didn't spend much time in any of the fancy shops and stuff they had, but we did go to the arcade once (or twice?) to play air hockey, and had a blast together. It did get a little crowded at one point, which was our cue to boogie, but we had fun nonetheless. As a whole, I think that this place really has it going on. There's a lot to do to entertain yourself in the building, which is awesome. The lakes aren't too far away, either, so you can enjoy the outdoors and come back to a super bomb meal. I think my only complaint is that I could have been more comfortable in the room if it had been better maintained and taken care of, but it wasn't horrible, and I still had a great weekend. I'd definitely stay here again, and hope to at some point in the next year! read more

Building is in poor condition, very poorly maintained. Walls and door frames scratched up. Looks like it has not been updated since the 80's. We reserved a week but left after 2 nights. The studio suite was just an efficiency, not a suite. It had a murphy bed with a mattress that is hard as a rock and half size pillows. We switched to the sofabed which was not much better. Not much better than an old motel 6. Jetted tub in the bathroom inoperable. Only positive was the pool and hot tubs. Pool was heated and hot tubs were at a good temp and worked but nut enough jets. read more

Shockingly bad amenities. There was an incredibly loud sound emanating from the room below us that kept us awake all night. We called the host repeatedly and she refused to do anything about the problem. No new room, no refund, wouldn't even send maintenance to fix the problem. Another great stay in Granby. If you have kids skip Winter Park and drive another 15 minutes to Granby. Skiing at Granby Ranch is 1/2 the price with little to no lines plus night skiing on Friday and Saturday. Stay at the Inn at Silvercreek but book on VRBO. We have stayed in several privately owned condos that are very nice and updated. Our favorite is 641....a 2 bedroom on the top floor with 5 beds, kitchen, 2 bathrooms. They also have a free ski shuttle to Granby Ranch and ski rental place in the lobby. Pools are heated, hot tubs (4) are nice and clean and the gym here gets the job done. Front desk staff are very friendly. Plenty of parking and laundry machines available. It's hard to judge this place on the reviews.....many seem to be for the time share condos that are run down. I think if you book a VRBO or book a recently remodeled condo from the front desk you will be okay. read more

Booked through Air B&B. Check in was quick, but staff was alittle rude. The room we stayed in was clean but the shower was straight from the 80s and could use major updating. Building itself is a weird mix of low income apartments, time shares and hotel rooms. Parking lot is sketchy and imagined coming out to a broken car window each morning. Pool and hot tubs were ok, but could use updating. No AC, thin walls and odd smells in rooms. Restaurant is never open. If you're coming for the Rocky Mountain National park area, stay in a different city, not much around other than McDonald's across the street. Would not stay here again and recommend to anyone to stay somewhere else. This place is hardly a hotel, rather a low income apartment complex. read more

This is the loudest place I have ever stayed! Thin walls, thinner ceilings, and I think a heard of elephants stayed in the rooms above and around us because it sounded like one of them might come falling into our room at any moment. All joking aside, I honestly was baffled at how noisy this place is. My sons and I were frustrated from the moment we got to our room. At one point, I went upstairs to politely ask our upstairs neighbors to be a little more respectful... and that's when I realized that everyone in this hotel was audible. You can hear conversations, people walking, laughing, kids crying, dogs barking, UNO players shuffling their cards, etc. etc. etc. Be prepared to feel like you are living in a community hall or college dorm- it will be loud until 10 or 11 pm, then get some sleep before Dumbo and crew start walking again at 7am. I have read the other poor reviews on here and I would gladly trade lousy decor, pool waivers and random taxidermy bears in the lobby for what I experienced as the worst part about my stay: you need noise cancellation ear plugs! read more

Well I've been standing at the front desk for 15mins and nobody is here. Sooooo, is this place even open?

From the outside, this place is beautiful; but alas, that's where the good news in this review stops. Once inside the "standard" room I was given for two nights I started to wish Granby had a Holiday Inn Express nearby. First, my room was very dated and rather specific in its decor. The cedar planks lining on wall made the room smell nice at first, but quickly turned nauseating thereafter. There are no AC units present. It was 76 degrees outside and it felt even hotter inside the room. This, for me, is completely unacceptable. Comfort is king and while I understand that this is a mountain ski resort and during the height of their tourist season - hot cocoa in mugs and heat in the rooms is what is on tap, they are, however, a year round operation and cannot overlook the cooling essentials. The ceiling fan in my room had a short or something as it does not run. There are 3 switches and a dial on three different walls and nothing seems to control it after an hour of trying. On top of the no AC, I'm seriously considering the 5 hour drive home and forgetting the whole conference. I'm over this. The t.v. In the room is approximately 25" which is, oddly enough, the size of my computer monitor at work. The main difference there being at work - I have two of them! The two good things I can say about the room is that it does have a mini fridge in it and overall, it's clean. Would I ever stay here again? No. Even though these two nights were paid for by my company, I am the one who books the room and I would choose to stay elsewhere - even if I had to make an hour plus drive each way and stay in Dillon or Frisco. read more

We stayed through VRBO and found an awesome deal on a newly remodeled unit. Owner was very responsive and great to work with. When we arrived the front desk was not that friendly and was surprised that the owner approved an early check in. The exterior of the building and the hallways are in desperate need of a update or at least a deep cleaning. We enjoyed our stay and our visit to RMNP though. Great location to get to RMNP or the ski resorts and it had a grocery store right across the street. read more

Stayed for the weekend to attend a wedding. When we arrived it was late night and the front desk was friendly. Our room wasn't hard to find parking was right out front of our door. The elevators and ice machines were working. Our room was a small bed room bed was comfortable had a tv, coffee, table, ac /heater and microwave. Bathroom was clean and big. Hot water worked great. The walls were a bit thin we can hear the next door ppl. Our room had a little patio and chairs very comfy and relaxing. The restaurant was busy and there was only one bartender and he was as taking orders as well the wait was long and you can definitely tell he was frustrated. The hotel needs updating for sure very old and outdated for the price of the room I would have thought it was a little nicer. It does have a arcade and a barber and a little store everything either has a specific time when opened or need to make an appointment. The area where this hotel is at is very close to McDonald's and a grocery store closed little town is 10 min away. We would go here again but get a bigger room and try out the restaurants down other amenities. read more

We stayed here after it was recommended by the bride and groom of a wedding we attended, and I don't regret it at all! Staff was super friendly, room had high ceilings and was clean, and the restaurant served a mean burger that I would definitely order again. The reason I'm not giving the most glowing review is because it was really isolated, so the $150/night (we stayed on a Saturday so that's probably the highest it gets) hotel rate seemed really steep for the value. The restaurant didn't open until 5:00 so when we arrived early for check in (which wasn't until 4:00 which seems later than normal, also) we couldn't even grab a drink while we waited. All in all I liked the hotel and would definitely stay here again if the situation arose, but the fact that I could stay at the Cosmo in Vegas for the same price or even cheaper is what makes me not want to recommend this place too highly. Totally awesome place to stay, just overcharges a bit for the value and location of the space. Especially when you consider for less than $50 more you could stay on the lake in Grand Lake, which was the cost of our Uber to get there anyway. Looks nice from the outside and had a lot of amenities that were nice, but that's about it. We booked 2 nights and only stayed for 1. When we ran the bathtub, there was something that looked like sand in the tub and when we drained it there was black specks of something. Called maintenance and the guy couldn't tell us if it was coming out of the jets or the pipes. He was very rude. Then when we tried to take a shower, it would not turn on and we had to have the maintenance person come back. The WiFi was spotty at best. There was a lot of cold air coming in through the patio door. The heater was extremely loud and kept us up all night. The "blinds" on the patio door and window were so thin that the room was bright all night. Instead of apologizing, the front desk people charged us over $300 and can't seem to explain why. I stayed for a week at this hotel because it was within a close proximity of Rocky Mountain National Park. Throughout my stay, I had mixed feelings about the quality of the Inn regarding the clubhouse and the room itself. Additionally, we booked our room through Airbnb, which I would highly recommend because you know what kind of room you are paying for. Other reviews were not satisfied with their rooms because they were outdated and not clean. Luckily, we enjoyed the studio room. The apartment included a pull down bed, kitchen, bathroom, and mini living room all in one. The kitchen included all the necessities for cooking a home meal including pots, pans, dishware, cutting boards, and basic cooking utensils. The dishwasher in the kitchen was probably the smallest one I've ever seen, but you are given unlimited dish washing soap. Our apartment had a fireplace but if you want to you use it, you are expected to clean your mess from the fire wood. The clubhouse was old and in need of remodeling. You can get towels at the front desk if you want to jump in the pool or try the hot tub. The locker rooms were very confusing because they didn't specify gender and i accidentally walked in the woman's locker room. Fortunately there was no one in there. There is a restaurant at the clubhouse but upon looking at the menu, it was overpriced and there are better options in Granby and other cities that are a short drive away. Overall, I didn't think the hotel was that bad. Its conveniently located outside downtown Granby with access to a gas station and grocery market across the street. We were happy with our room, but definitely check out Airbnb to make sure you know what room you are getting before you reserve. The room was extremely small!!! Our bed was a queen "Murphy" bed that was rock hard with springs poking our back and noisy! I would have rather slept on a couch. Probably would have gotten a better nights sleep. The pillows were as hard as a board and the walls were paper thin. The bathroom was another story...ugh!!!!!! It was so old and disgusting, I didn't even want to take a shower (nor did i) and I would have rather gone without brushing my teeth than putting the water from the facet in my mouth. Needless to say, I won't ever stay here again. I would have been better off driving the extra miles and going to another town. read more

We booked our stay at the Inn at Silvercreek through AirBnB -- I believe it's currently the only listing for the Inn at Silvercreek on the site -- listed under "Relaxing, Rustic, Mountain Condo". I am of the understanding that not only can you rent a room here but you can also own rooms here, as your condo -- to which you are free to make your own, custom improvements and changes. Our room was located on the first floor of Building C and we paid $53 per night for what could have easily been a $100-stay. We couldn't of asked for anything better and relaxing. We had a studio apartment with a patio that overlooked a small, man-made lake. A full kitchen with provided kitchen appliances and utensils, queen-sized murphy bed, couch and therapist chair. The complimentary WiFi was spotty throughout our stay (it worked best in the morning and early afternoon -- hardly at all in the evening hours) and don't expect to have cellular service but when you're on vacation, the point is to getaway so this really wasn't that much of an inconvenience. A plethora of cables channels are provided, as well. You can also receive free incoming calls, if you want loved ones and friends to get a hold of you. The staff was mostly pleasant. We had an awesome experience with one of the maintenance guy's who helped us get back into our locked room that was dead-bolted from the inside so special thanks to him for the nice conversation. Amenities include tennis and basketball courts, an outdoor pool that is way to cold to use -- but four hot tubs, which are even better if you can snag an outdoor one. There is also a sauna and exercise room. There is also a restaurant and arcade (which we did not try). Hiking trails are a few hundred yards off of the property (walk off the property by the C building) and toward the hills -- you'll see the trail signs. There are also horseshoe pits, volleyball courts, charcoal BBQs and smokers available for guest-use. I will have a fond memory of our stay here and should we ever return to Colorado, we'll do our best to return here. Mild complaints and/or suggestions: - Lose the "don't fill your coolers up with ice" signs on the complimentary ice machines. Comes off cheap and petty. If the ice machines can't handle it, then replace them. - Have the front desk carry change for laundry. The arcade did not open until 4 and I had to drive back and forth, four times, to downtown Granby to do our laundry, as a result. read more

Beautiful setting horrible place to stay. Our room had a super loud noise that happened throughout the night- startling me awake repeatedly with my heart racing about once an hour. Called for a later check out and it was a hard NO not even an extra hour. 10 am is their check out? Can't I even get 11 am? Plus it's run down and unsafe. The fire alarm system was down. This place is terrible. I will never come back. Tent camping would have been better. read more

We stayed in a rental via AirBNB inside the Inn at Silvercreek. Loved the heated pool and hot tubs! We bought numerous logs from the front desk and they were always helpful. Grocery and liquor store located conveniently across the street. Bar located on-site with food (we didn't restaurant, but it was nice to know we had the option). I really want to give it 3.5 stars, but since I can't, it becomes a 4. The inn was good for what we wanted: something affordable, in Granby, and a clean place to lay our heads. I really wish that the rooms had refrigerators, however, and it was a big pain to find an ice machine. Friendly staff, although the restaurant was only serving drinks. I know it was "mud season", but it was a bummer thinking it had a restaurant when we didn't feel like driving and having to drive somewhere else anyways! read more

Yesterday, we drove 12 hours home, from Colorado, after spending only two nights at the Silvercreek Inn, in Granby. This morning, I get woken by a phone call, wondering if we even stayed there. Not only did we stay, we complained, we checked out, and returned the keys! Out of 30 years of timesharing, this had to be the most disgusting place we had ever stayed. I cannot believe we wasted our entire vacation, plus an additional $210 for the kids to have a suite and another $50 for a pet fee. We live on social security and no pensions, so this is not something we take lightly. 1. The carpet was so disgusting, I cannot begin to describe it, other to say, those pet deposits in the last 20 years have NEVER been used to clean the carpet. 2. The tub was so disgusting, we didn't even use it. The caulking is falling out, the faucet spun in a circle, the seams are not adhered and so the water just runs behind the wall, and it is dirty with holes patched. 3. My son's room's toilet had a hole in the wall, with sheet rock dust laying on the ground, along with the tools and drywall tape. 4. Our toilet lid wasn't even fastened down properly, so it moved when you tried to sit on it. 5. The painted vanity was done without even taking the handles off. I cannot imagine what they were trying to cover up. 6. The thermostat does not work and even after turning it off, it continues to pump out heat. The bedroom must have been 80 degrees. 7. We called ahead to ask what the partial kitchen entailed. We were told, "no oven, just two burners". It had an oven and four burners. The burners smelled just awful when we turned them on. 8. We went to use the hot tub at the Clubhouse. The water was lukewarm and the tub was missing over 15+ tiles, which causes cuts on the bottom of your feet. The maintenance person said it had been broken a long time and he had to keep trying to fill the water every 3 hours. 9. The threshold by the sliding glass door has broken wood with nails sticking out. I have attached some pictures, but I didn't even finish taking all of them. We were so angry. We had not seen our kids since their wedding 15 months ago. This is simply unacceptable. We paid through the nose for our timeshare, plus the maintenance fees every year. We pay for the gas and maintenance on the 14 year old car we drive, so we can get to the destinations. Then, we are met with this kind of crap and personnel who don't even bother to communicate what the issues are. RCI is just as responsible for keeping these kinds of places in their registry. read more

If I could rate this resort at a zero, I would. It was so disgusting my husband and I left and didn't even stay one night. We drove home shortly after we arrived (a two hour drive) in less than desirable, snowy conditions after a long day of skiing. There was visible black mold in the bathtub, the carpet was torn and faded, the veneer lining on the walls had huge holes everywhere, and to boot the customer service was horrendous. After reporting the mold to the front desk, the attendants did nothing to provide a different room for us. Even the building maintenance supervisor said the room was disgusting and that it was blocked off and was supposed to be remodeled. He stated that it shouldn't have even been booked. This room was part of an RCI timeshare ownership, so some of the responsibility falls on them. However, I find it incredibly hard to believe that the resort couldn't find an alternative room for us for one night. The resort is huge. And the parking lot was pretty empty (at 8pm). Do not waste your time or money on this resort. read more

We stayed here for a week with family as a time-share swap. While we had an excellent time, it was despite, not because of, the accommodations - the doors & locks are so funky. We stayed in a 2 room suite. We were issued 4 key cards, 2 for each door (bedroom and living area). In addition there were 2 patio doors to the parking lot and a door between the rooms. First, if you use the wrong key in the hallway doors it deactivates them all. Sometimes the keys randomly don't work. Since we were at the end of the hall we several times had to trek down to the front desk to get keys fixed. Once was at 10;30 at night, after the maintenence guy had left and the manager hadn't arrived. An hour later, with two tired babies, we finally got in. The patio doors lock automatically and have security bolts. The front doors have deadbolts that automatically open when you push the lever handle from the inside, but not the slide locks or anything so my toddler could let himself out into the hall at will. There went my hopes of having him sleep in one room while we slept in the other. So there were 4 of us in one bed. Tight squeeze. Also because the 2 room suite is 2 adjoining rooms that were converted, the door between them is actually the 2 one-way doors with a handle only on one side. So my toddler could lock himself in one room. It was really annoying. Oh and about half of the external doors to the hallways that were supposed to be key card entry only were either just unlocked or propped open by the full-time residents who would go out to smoke and walk their dogs (often a smoky smell wafted into the room) - the place was really run down. Stained and frayed carpet throughout. The knives were very dull in the kitchenette. The Jacuzzi tub jets didn't work. The ice machine in our hall was broken. The window shades were broken. The comforter on the bed was really dated and tacky. The mirrored sliding closet door in the bedroom was off the track. One of the hot tubs in the pool area was closed. Lots of smokers around. The wifi is so slow/weak you can't even upload photos from your day to send to friends or family! - the staff was pretty friendly but not very knowledgeable about things to do in the area or what their amenities were. Was told there was a free chair lift nearby, but they didn't know the hours. Went up there and it was closed. Called the resort ahead of time to find out about our room layout and it was described very differently than the actual room, if I'd known better I would have been more prepared to travel with the kids. The whole key card fiasco... - we were there in the summer. There is no air conditioning. They provide fans, but the temperature outside fluctuated from the 40s to 80s, so the temperature in the room fluctuated accordingly. So we were constantly fidgeting with opening windows, or putting the heat on, trying to keep the baby from sticking his fingers in the box fan or out of the baseboard heater that had a wire closet shelf fashioned in to a grate over it. - the staff at the on-site restaurant was great, but the actual place looked really sad. Ok little salad bar. The on-site general store/gift shop and salon were always closed. Maybe because it was summer, off -season? The resort was built in the late 70s/early 80s and I don't think it's been renovated since. I feel terrible writing a negative review since my in-laws treated us to this awesome family vacation. But it was just so meh, I have to warn others. Oh and there are two giant taxidermy bears in the lobby that have absolutely nothing to do with Colorado. So random. My son insisted on bringing a spoon to bonk them when we went that way. read more

by far the dumpiest hotel we have ever stayed in. Outdated, uncomfortable, gross, are just a few words to say about this hotel. The best thing I can say is view from room was great. That is it folks, nothing else. Horrible, nasty, room. Pink carpet on side of bathtub - really, who does that? Murphy bed would not close and we thought it was going to fall out on us. Closet doors would not close. Trim in bathroom held up with bobby pins..... Restaurant manager, Peter, well no words can express what a incompetent manager he was. If you're traveling in the summer this is not the place to stay. It's not close to any towns where you can walk to dinner, activities or shopping. This is a timeshare resort where everything is in need of repair and the place is outdated. The cleaning staff are very nice and do a great job with the units but they can't work miracles. read more

Looks like I am echoing the rest of the bad reviews here. Staff not willing/incapable of helping seems like a common theme. Absolutely HORRIFIC customer service from the front desk to the hotel manager. Do not stay here! You will absolutely regret the decision as they are unwilling to do anything at all to make things right. Had a resident block my car in and I was told too bad "you park at your own risk". Tell that to the kid who missed skiing for the day thanks to the hotel not patrolling their parking lot. read more

Idk what all you people are fussing about my stay has been excellent. I guess I got luck and got a good condo. Every thing was updated all new big flat screen tv's and appliances. It was all clean and very roomy. They even had blue ray players with a small selection of bluerays to pick from to watch. Only wish they did breakfast or had breakfast bar in the mornings. read more
