Because of covid, there was no breakfast, but we received free breakfast vouchers to Route 66 which is a local restaurant nearby. It is not that far to snowshoe for skiing. The bathroom was a great size for the room with a shower tub and complimentary shampoo, conditioner, wash, and lotion. The towels and bedding for sleeper are provided. For this lodge, you have to pay for "Towel & Trash" service or Maid service. The lockers were right by our room, as well as the fitness center and we were on the end so we had the door access closer to the center of the village. The laundry room had one washer and 4 dryers, which doesn't seem like much, but I didn't see many people utilize it anyways besides us and one other person used the dryers. This lodge was great because our rentals were just downstairs outside of our building. Super convenient. The slopes are right outside! It's easy to access to load/unload your stuff when you arrive or leave. I recommend this lodge for sure! It's not in the center, but it's not long of a walk either. Checkin that The Inn at Snowshoe (at the bottom of the mountain) was easy. Angie was so great and helpful. I'm glad she was there when we got checked in and all of our tickets for lift and my kids snowboard lessons. She answered all of what I needed.

I was debating between 3 and 4 stars, for the reasons below, but we really did make this work and it was a cozy and convenient stay with beautiful views. Let's talk about the location first. Location was perfect, right in the center of the adorable Snowshoe village and literally next door to the slopes. You walk out the back door, outside the snowboard gear lockers, and you are on the first slope. I loved how close it was as you can scurry off to get lunch or to the bathroom within just a few moments. The view outside the room, the building, really the entire village, is stunning. Be sure to catch the sunrises and sunsets across the mountain tops. Now for the room and stay. The building is almost like a hotel/apartment complex building. There is no front desk. You have to go about a half mile down the mountain to get the keys and lodging information. The room is obviously older and nothing fancy. As far as the kitchen situation, the fridge should be bigger. It was a mini-fridge so be prepared! I think when you have a two bedroom room, you would need more than a mini-fridge due to the number of people staying. Luckily, my friend and her husband had a huge cooler and we just kept refilling it with ice. The kitchen had a dishwasher and two burner stove. The light over the sink was broken and the mini-fridge did not close all the way, which was a turn-off. All of this being said, I truly do believe we made it work great. They do have a bunch of utensils, pots, and pans. We were able to get creative and make some good dinners. The living room had a few games, a television, cozy blankets, chairs/couch, and lamps. There was a "kitchen" type table for dining/games. The living room was definitely cozy and the views were outstanding! All of the rooms got so much sunlight, which was lovely. There were two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The bedroom space was tight, but not too bad for two people staying in one. Dressers in both, closet in one, television in one. The beds came with amble bedding as it gets cold in the mountains, which was nice. The beds were also incredibly and surprisingly comfortable! I would recommend Expedition Station from our experience. Not bad from a price standpoint for three nights with the location and almost having everything you need. However, we would probably stay somewhere else next time for a different experience, as there are many areas/adorable mountain homes to stay during your trip in this area.

I wouldn't consider the interior kitsch, but rather, decor appropriate for what it is. It was built in the 1980's and to some degree still reflects the time it was built through its furnishings. In a way it reminds me of my parent's house and I can appreciate this sort of decor. For dinner we had a meat and cheese board, rainbow trout and duck breast. Items, which, we were better happy with. The food was delicious and proportionally fulfilling. I had a glass of wine and he had a beer. Prices are similar to what we are familiar with while dining high end in DC, and we weren't that surprised to find that out here. If you are looking for something moderately priced then this might not be the place for you. Service was less than amazing. It was slow and a bit amiss. That is why this isn't a 5 star rating. It was disappointing. She was nice enough, but not someone I would want to have as a server again. We were next to a table who had a different server and he was on top of his game without a beat. After spending all day on the lake, we checked in at 6:30 PM only to find out they only accept credit cards, unless you're Canadian, then they accept debit. Thankfully, we had an emergency credit card, or we wouldn't have been able to stay in the room we booked. The lady behind the counter, Laura, was extremely unhelpful. She told us, "I don't know what to tell you, it's your cards that are bad." Another staff member mentioned there was a glitch with some of the credit machines, which is why our debit cards wouldn't work. Despite having our card on file, they refused to accept cash and even had an ATM right behind me. When we finally got our keys, we discovered they put us in a king suite, which is a single room with a king bed and a couch, not the one-bedroom we had booked. When I returned to the front desk, I told the young man that was there that I was put into the wrong room. Laura made sure to come out as soon as she saw me from the back. Laura said that the NEW owners took our room for themselves and that the GM told her to still charge us the one bedroom rate, which was $50 more than the room we received. I requested to switch to a two-queen room, which was $110 compared to $190, but Laura insisted she would have to charge my card again. As a line of people started forming behind me, I pulled up the hotel's website to show the rate for the king suite. Laura reluctantly agreed to discount the rate to $161 after taking my phone from me and looking at the days inn web site, but only after I insisted. She then said, "I don't think anything I do will make you happy, why don't I just check you out?" I told her what would make me happy is to be fair and give me the rate for the room I was put in and not try to upcharge me because the owners took my room. She rolled her eyes, "I will just give you the $161 rate." in a rude clipped tone. I said thank you I appreciate that. After asking for a receipt, she initially refused, stating they only give receipts at checkout. When I asked to take a picture of the computer screen with the new rate, she finally provided a room registration with the discounted rate and made sure to circle the new rate in red marker giving it to me with a scowl on her face. This experience was incredibly frustrating, especially since I visit this hotel regularly for lake boating trips and have never had such issues before. Laura was very rude and unprofessional. I strongly advise staying away from this hotel. Wish I could give 0 stars but unfortunately you have to give at least one.

They also host spiritual conferences there, we were told. I would call in advance if you plan on staying anytime soon to ensure your stay is worthwhile. We were still able to use the Snowshoe resort activities. Bring food with you! All of the restaurants at Snowshoe are currently takeout ONLY--you must wait outside for your food and with minimal staff wait times are hours. Silver Creek was the only place we were able to sit inside and eat/wait for takeout inside. The front desk receptionist at Corduroy Inn, Teresa, was extremely helpful. She was kind, professional and genuine... we would not have made it through the weekend without her! Thank you so much Teresa! I will also say that the Corduroy Inn was the nicest lodging we saw on the mountain... we ventured inside a few of the hotels looking for food and noticed that none of them were as well constructed, clean or beautiful as Corduroy Inn. The rooms are exquisite and amenities (espresso machine, heated flooring, washer/dryer access) were extremely appreciated. Lacking was luggage carts... that would have helped with all our gear. I would stay here above anywhere else on the mountain though considering these things !

To be clear, the rooms are nice. The problem is in the technology they use, the service, and the billing practices. Firstly, they use an app to get in to your rooms. When I returned to my room after dinner, the app wouldn't work. It said it couldn't communicate with the lock. No problem I'll get another key at the front desk. This led to the second problem, the front desk closes at 4pm. No contact information posted. I look up the phone number on the webpage and call. It goes to an answering machine. I leave increasingly disgruntled messages over the next hour and a half. The temperature is dropping, my seven year old is in a t-shirt, I have access to my room and my car keys are in the room. I send emails to the place, not response. I ask around at the restaurants if there is anyone onsite. No one knows. Finally I ask at the place next door which is part of the same building. The guy says he'll check if his master key will let me in. It works. So good, I get in my room. Bad, the pizza place next door has access to the rooms. Finally, I get the bill today. It includes a 15$ amenity fee and a 45$ cleaning fee. For one night. This isn't a hotel, it's run like an AirBnB without the technology or service. It seems cheaper than renting a condo at the resort, but that's only because the condo rentals post their fees and cleaning charges.

All day I saw innocent guests check in to this construction site with the same look of confusion and concern that I had on day 1 of my stay... I personally wanted to tell the hotel manager that she was an incompetent middle management b who should clean her office... hoping she just reads it here instead.

Besides home cooked meals, they have some fishing / camping supplies, snacks, and easy camping food options. They also sell locally made items such as jewelry, crocheted goods, etc ( we bought a bunch of crocheted pumpkins). Miss Sarah was warm and welcoming, not to mention an excellent cook. The chicken noodle soup was delicious! Hubby ordered the same item twice: the thunder chicken, which he obviously enjoyed. Last night I had the Big Tex, yummy brisket and a delicious sweet bbq sauce!! We had some ice cream for dessert, perfect way to end our meal. Today I tried the Goodfella, a panini with chicken, pesto and mix which was fantastic and filling.
