Are there no chiropractors that exist that embrace a balance between modern and holistic medicine???? My husband and I are just not new age enough for this practice. If you are going to come here, then know that they will *only* treat you through the lens of holistic, chiropractic care. They will not suggest modern medicine alternatives if they are not being successful with their treatments, and if asked about modern medicine alternatives (e.g. a MRI to rediagnose what might be causing horrible pain that hasn't been resolved in a month)... they will try to talk you out of it. And then if you ignore them and go and do what you want anyway, when you come back they'll tell you you were right to do that. But they don't get why this could possibly be confusing to the patient, or reduce their credibility. We tried talking out several examples of them doing things like these over the course of the last year at the time that they happened, and we were basically brushed off. When we finally decided to leave them for good, we sent them an email explaining why. We just got a generic letter in the mail from them stating that "if only we had brought these up at the time that they had happened." What? Totally insincere and, you know, totally ignoring that we'd pointed out in our email that we did try to talk to them - at least until the last incident that just pushed us over the edge. Pros: Nice people. Possibly the only chiropractors in the area who work with pregnant women. Cons: They will ignore all possibilities that modern medicine also has its place, to the point that they will not even consider learning about those alternatives to their treatments. Basically they are the converse of every modern doctor who hates holistic medicine. Here are excerpts from the email we sent: Example 1: I started doing massages because you informed me that you weren't getting the right results in adjusting me and the roller table and other exercises weren't effective. There have been several times over the course of the year in which John wanted to adjust me *prior* to my massage, and when I asked him about this, he would just shrug and say he could adjust me anyway. And of course the result was that it *was* difficult for him, and on top of it it reduced your credibility and absolutely made it look like you'd just convinced me to do massages to bring in extra business for yourselves and Mark. Example 2: You stopped doing regular check ups on our spines, which was supposedly part of the regular process in seeing how things were progressing. Example 3: When I started coming in for the over a month in which I was commenting how much pain my neck and shoulder and down my arm was, it became readily apparent that the *only* form of treatment you thought I should consider was more chiropractic. I reminded John about my prior injuries from rafting, and explained about all the recent travel. He diagnosed the bulging discs to be on the left side of the neck, told me that it was all about doing lots of additional chiropractic treatment, and that it did not make sense to get a MRI yet when I asked him point blank about that. I asked about alternative pain treatments in the interim and he basically told me he didn't believe in them so had no idea. These three things bother us for a several reasons. First, while we can understand that you as chiropractors are more naturally attuned to wanting to do everything holistically for your own personal preferences, we cannot understand why you wouldn't realize there's a balance to be made for most of the rest of the population and at least keep up to date on what the alternatives to your own solutions would be. How else could you educate me on why pain treatments might not be great for me or why a MRI "didn't make sense?" I decided to go get a MRI because I did not trust your diagnosis and recommended next steps. Second, when I came back reporting that I had gotten a MRI, John claimed that not only was I a good candidate for the MRI, but that I was also a good candidate for the epidural steroid injection that I received. As this is a complete 180 from what he originally said, it was maddening to think that if I had simply trusted his recommendations, I might've gone on in so much pain for so much longer. Third, I asked him about his diagnosis of the bulging discs being on the left side when in actuality they are on the right side. He just laughed and basically asked why would I expect him to figure out the exact side? read more

My family and I have been going to Dr. John and Dr. Mary for years. I feel they treat you and your body. They listen to my concerns, give me options oh how they want to treat my neck and lower back. When I have any questions about modern medicine they have great advice about the pros and cons of each type of treatment. I have been very comfortable and satisfied with the way they practice. Two of my children have asthma and after years of being on medication they are no longer on any because of the adjustments they receive. It is truly amazing to have them breath easily and not have to give them any daily medication that has so many side effects. Doctor John and his wife are amazing chiropractors. They really love you and take care of you.. I started going to Doctor John a couple years ago.. This practice is just awesome, no other way to put it. Dr. John is phenomenal, not only is he very knowledgeable, but he has a very gentle, down to earth approach with his patients - he feels like a good friend more than the formality usually attached to doctor visits. He always goes above and beyond what is expected, and it is just plain obvious that he truly cares. The staff at the front desk are equally impressive. Dana is a sweetheart, super cordial, always accommodating, you just don't deal with any of the hassle that people usually complain about when it comes to medical practices. We needed some particular documents for our cost sharing pool, and she always provided us with what was needed, and very quickly too. In conclusion, this is how a medical practice should be run. I think Dr. John & Co.'s operation can be used as an example for everyone else. I just can't recommend it highly enough. read more

I am so thankful that my daughter found Innate Concepts Chiropractic. She and her 5 year old son went for about 1 month and I was noticing a difference in them. I decided to give it a try. They are very compassionate, welcoming and knowledgeable. It's a very positive and encouraging atmosphere. My daughters migraines and debilitating pain and stiffness has remarkably diminished. I am very impressed with the results I have seen in my family. My daughter hurt her back while snow shoveling. She went to see Dr. John and was better in 3 days. My other child hurt her knee. Dr. John is such a competent, empathetic chiropractor. I have been going to him for a few years, primarily for maintenance after years of back and neck problems. He has also treated me for two injuries. He provides very comprehensive treatments. I find combining the adjustments with stimulation and other forms of treatment to be very effective. A couple of weeks ago, I hurt myself and have been so very grateful that he is open part-time during this Covid 19 crisis. I was desperate for chiropractic care but so apprehensive about going during this time. However, he spaces the patients, has a fairly open floor plan with plenty of space to spread out, cleans well between each patient, and has a good ventilation system. I have never been treated by Dr. Mary but hear very positive things about her services. My daughter and her family are also very satisfied with their services. My granddaughter needs neck adjustments prior to flying to avoid intense ear pain. The entire office staff creates such a caring and welcoming environment. Dana and Mari are wonderful assistants. The office is very kid-friendly. Not only do they treat children, they make it easy for patients to bring a child. There are toys, a fish tank and such a friendly staff. read more

I have been a patient here for close to a year. My primary reason for visits was for my migraine headache diagnosis. Living with migraine headaches is not fun to say the least. The medicine my neurologist tried was not working and had horrible side effects. Before I started visiting Dr. John I was getting migraines 2-3 times a week. Now the amount I get has been cut in half. I also have more energy and feel better overall. The decrease in my migraines was not a coincidence. I know this because after I finished my 6 month therapy and was feeling well I had stopped going for about a month. After not going for about two weeks all my negative symptoms returned. I see Dr. John once a week now and have no intention of stopping. I have several family members who are regular patients of his as well who, when asked, I am sure would give 5 star reviews about their experience with Dr. John. I have found this office to be extremely helpful with my migraines and shoulder issues. I suffered for many years with the headaches and even had bouts of blackouts. No one could determine why but with a quick x-ray Dr. John and Dr. Mary figured out the underlying issue. It took a while to get better but they were careful to make sure that I was aware of what they were doing and why it would help me. I had many massages there as well and found Mark to be very effective and pleasant. Although I do not go often enough for regular adjustments I have seen a vast improvement in how I feel. My headaches are much less frequent and severe. The office staff is always very friendly and making appointments is very easy . I have even dropped in without calling and the wait time is minimal. I do not recommend a drop in for a massage though as there is only one massage therapist on staff. I do not have kids but the office is very family friendly. I have seen many young children receiving care there by both Dr. Mary and Dr. John. Overall I feel the doctors are very competent and personable. I will definitely continue going for care. read more
