My son (13) spent a week in Shiva's summer camp program July '26. He's always had some interest in drawing and crafting but has been a bit self conscious of his skill level. He's brought home some cool pieces and has continued to practice at home. He experienced weaving, watercolor, clay, oil pastel, drawing, etc. It has been a fun, engaging & well-rounded artistic experience for him. There's a wide range of ages and skill levels which I think added to creative, free spirited environment. They all seem to open up and have fun together. My 9-year-old daughter has been taking art lessons from Shiva for the past two years. We are very fortunate to have found Shiva as her art teacher. We had tried many other art classes before joining Shiva's InnerArt Studio. I took Shiva's art classes when I was a little girl "age 8" till I was in high school. She truly cares about her students and always gave me individual attention. My 6 year old son just took Shiva's week long art camp, and loved it!!! In the midst of all the summer sports activities I have him involved in, this was a fantastic opportunity for him to get creative with other children under Shiva's care. The children worked with an array of mediums including clay, pastels, watercolor, charcoal, and acrylic, and were also exposed to various methods used in creating their projects. This is not your typical "here are some items, now create" class. It's a fun learning experience for them. Shiva also provides a healthy lunch and snacks for them, and in between projects, they play organized games outside in her beautiful yard. The camp is reasonably priced, and goes from 9:30-2:00. I will definitely add Shiva's class to our list of summer activities in the future. As a kid, my son had a blast, and as a parent, I couldn't be happier. Shiva is just wonderful with children. I drive from Sunnyvale to San Jose for my daughter's drawing lessons, because she really likes Shiva, which makes my daughter more open to learning from her. Shiva has wonderful art camps as well over the breaks, which are reasonably priced. I am amazed by the quality and variety of what my daughter makes during camps, and the children do not get bored at all, since Shiva intersperses some dancing, and various games in the garden. Shiva is so nice with the kids, they did a lot of different things and discovered several materials and techniques. They did not see the week going and were surprised when they were told that it was already the end of the week.
