In my conversation with Jake, I immediately felt at ease because was definitely very knowledgeable. I'm not an expert but I do understand tech and I was able to talk to him easily comfortably. I did not want to spend a fortune and he immediately started to give me options on how to save money. I sent him pictures of my living room and he was able to give me a quote over the phone. Jake came personally to hang my flat screen television. He did it quickly and cleaned up the area after the work was done. He was thoughtful enough to wire 2 HDMI in the wall in case one failed in the future. Once the work was done, I was so impressed that I did show him some of the other work I needed done with my security cameras. He took time to give me a quote on the work and he offered me options to help me save money. I never felt pressured to do anything. I opted to proceed with the project and he ordered the equipment and came on the day promised and finished all the work at the quote he gave me. The "CLOSING" phrase used was " If you don't sign today, the price will go up". She signed the agreement. Two months had elapsed with no contact from this company. The estimate that was givin, wasn't even what she asked for. One estimate from another company was $23,000 for impact sliders. America's windows (wrong) bid was $11,000 for non-impact sliders. My mother did not know she was signing a contract. To cancel the contract (before any work) was 25% of the bid. In a conversation with "J" he told me if she didn't go with the installation or pay the cancellation fee, they would put a lean on her house. The permit for the sliders was rejected twice. The phrase uttered several times was " this is just business ". Myself and "J" talked about the positive and negative reviews online. He "J" told me that the people that submitted negative reviews was " Mickey Mouse Stuff " I wish America's Windows had never come out. Posting to Google and Yelp.

The two men he had assigned to move the furniture were very friendly and polite, but not very professional in the sense that they asked the homeowner that we purchased the sofa set from to use their bathroom and asked them for some water. One also asked to use our bathroom upon delivery. It's my opinion that they should have their own water and should have used their facilities before they left or stopped to use the facilities somewhere before they picked up the order and/or stopped before delivery. Although they were 15 min late for the appointment time already, so maybe that's why they did not want to stop on the way, but that's still no excuse to ask to use a homeowners bathroom in my opinion. They did do a wonderful job of protecting the furniture by wrapping it with moving blankets and plastic. They also did a wonderful job of setting up our furniture in our home. For the delivery, Mike also had given his team the wrong delivery address for our home, missed a digit, so it took longer for them to get here. Since they charge by the hour, that isn't a good thing, although I'm sure it was an honest mistake. They did adjust their hourly rate by an extra 15 minutes, so that probably made up for any additional expense that it would've made. We just had to wait a little longer for our delivery than anticipated. Not a huge difference for us, but might be critical to someone else.

I'm being generous by giving this company one star. It's been a miserable experience from the…read morestart. After receiving several quotes I went with this company because they told me they could recess the header in the soffits. That turned out to be false. I reluctantly moved forward with the project as hurricane season was fast approaching. They did the initial install on 08/25/25. It was horrible. They attempted to install them tight to the soffits and wound up bending the headers. I was then told that they would replace the covers. They came back several weeks later with new covers. The result was exactly the same. Several more weeks passed and they came back, removed and lowered the units. while this did correct the warping I now have a big ugly gap between the header and the soffits. Additionally one of the shutters is making a loud popping noise. The other item is the missing snap covers for the vertical supports. They have tried to install these twice without success. We're going on a year since I initially ordered these shutters. Support covers are still missing and I fear that the one shutter is going to soon fail. It's evident that the unit was warped during the initial install. One other item is that the final inspection was never completed per the city website. I've made countless phone calls to the company. They never return my calls. I've also sent numerous text messages to the owner Waylon. Again, he never responds. It's clear that he has no interest in customer satisfaction. It's been almost a year and the job is still not complete. Do yourself a favor and go with Storm Smart or anyone else.
