In fact, I was losing some mobility and stretching only seemed to make everything worse. But then I discovered Balance Wellness, and things took a turn for the best! Chris was very thorough during his initial examination and asked lots of questions to which I provided as many detailed answers as I could. We established the nature of my aches and he explained to me how acupuncture works, what to expect from our sessions. I really appreciate his transparency. Chris is very good at making you feel safe and like you're in good hands. When I walked into his office, it was my first time trying out acupuncture. I had only ever seen it performed on others, including my cat. Establishing trust between patient and practitioner is important. With Chris, everything felt natural. Kudos to him! I've done a few sessions with Chris. But I can share with you all that after two sessions, I could already feel a huge difference. I came in with a glute so achy and tight that I couldn't bend easily anymore. Now, the glute pain is gone and I have regained my mobility! Acupuncture at Balance Wellness was a game changer for me. While some areas still need some work (I'm also simultaneously working with a PT to strengthen glutes, back and core muscles), 90-95% of the lower back pain I was experiencing is gone. Chris has such wonderful, beautiful, supportive energy, and that paired with his ability to be so present is no doubt a huge part of the healing experience. For example, I saw him for two issues: a tendon in my ankle and a tendon in my shoulder. The ankle is beyond repair, inoperable with a frayed tendon. But he relieved the muscle tension aggravating that tendon and gave me some relief. He also taught me best practice with bracing, which has evolved a lot since I started injuring that ankle seventy years ago. My shoulder has rotator cuff separation, joint replacement, a severed subscapularis muscle, and a torn bicep. (Yeah.Believe me, I know what you're thinking). One tendon kept slipping out of place and binding on the artificial joint or on the bone to which the joint is attached. After several visits he had managed to significantly reduce the pain from that tendon and helped me learn how to support the joint so it would no longer be a recurring problem. Overall? Arrived at 4:12 pm and the place was closed. Called the service and they said the technician would be right there. At 4:26 the tech said he left but was coming back in 12 min. At 4:56 he said he was at the light in traffic. 5:04 pm he arrived. Went through some routine visit stuff - weight, blood pressure, medical questions. He said I would be a good candidate for Amnio. The cost would be $950 for the treatment but I may be able to get a discount. When I made the appointment I was promised a free consultation and one free treatment but the tech said no that was not possible. I showed him the text and email and he said one of his associates would get back to me. Still waiting! I guess this company does the bait and switch scheme to get customers. False advertising and false promises.

Had to give up weight workout, walking, and yoga. Gained significant weight, then he suggested I could get better if I lost weight. I was livid. Finally demanded pain meds and an MRI. MRI result? Shredded miniscus on both sides -- and NO ACL. I had him do my arthroscopic surgery for immediate relief, but no more. I feel that in my case he was complacent, condescending, and dismissive. 'yeah, it's just that arthritis.....' Because I'm female and over a certain age? Big mistake. So much so that it cost me almost a year in recovery and damaged my mobility significantly, because I kept aggravating the real injury. I've collected my records and will go elsewhere to see what I can do next to recover from all this. I had been developing some back pain, hip pain and muscles that cramped and seized which were causing me to feel older than my years. I'd thought of just giving up and accepting these negative changes but they've now been reversed. When we started I was actually having to pound on my leg to try to release the tightened muscle fibers which pulled from my hip to my knee joint and down through my ankle on one side. I had worked out with trainers in the past and done a lot of weight lifting. But this is better, working with someone who is an exercise physiologist has made the difference I think. He was able to assess my situation, pinpoint my weaknesses and then design an exercise program that targets the correct muscles and it has been effective. I'm becoming much more flexible, strong and balanced and am learning how to use my body correctly.
