Patients were never notified beforehand -- no call, message, letter, or any other communication. Finding out at an appointment that your physician had already left weeks earlier is unprofessional and unacceptable for continuity of care. The core issue is a lack of integrity in how this transition was handled toward patients in a pain clinic setting, where individuals are already dealing with significant ongoing suffering and dependence on consistent care. Abruptly leaving without proper notice shows a concerning lack of consideration and accountability toward those relying on treatment. If there was a reasonable explanation for the abrupt departure, it was never communicated to patients. Even in difficult or unfavorable situations, patients deserve a basic level of transparency and a diplomatically delivered explanation, particularly when ongoing care is involved. Even Ying appeared uncomfortable being left to explain the situation to surprised patients arriving expecting to see their physician. To be clear, the issue is not that a doctor changes practices or opens a new clinic -- that is understandable. The issue is how it was handled. Patients deserved honesty, transparency, professionalism, and integrity throughout that transition. UPDATE to previous review: Dr. Kim's response does not address the central concern raised in the original review -- the lack of communication and failure to notify established patients prior to his departure from the practice. It does not acknowledge the impact on patients who arrived for scheduled care and were only then informed he was no longer with the clinic. The response also does not include any apology to patients affected by the lack of notice and disruption in continuity of care. The use of the word "unfortunately" comes across as dismissive in context and does not address the underlying concerns regarding patient communication or continuity of care. Additionally, it references a "2024/2025" departure timeline, which is inconsistent with what patients were told by the practice (May 24, 2024) and does not align with what we experienced firsthand on June 4, when patients arrived for appointments and found he was already no longer there. Overall, the response does not engage with the communication failure or patient impact raised in the original review.

My pain required me to take opioid pain medication a few times per month in order to function properly. After consulting with Dr. Dumitrescu, he created a custom plan with the intention of stopping my pain at the source instead of treating with medication. We completed the plan last week and it's been over three months since I've had to take any pain meds. This is the longest I've gone without the need for meds in over ten years. What sets Dr. Dumitrescu apart from the other places is his dedication to looking at all aspects of healing the body. We started with a few minor outpatient procedures combined with physical therapy, supplements, and hormone medication. We have now moved into a strength building program in order to help prevent future back injuries or issues. I could not be more delighted with the results and being pain-free. The physical therapist, Katie, is absolutely wonderful to work with. If you're experiencing pain, I highly recommend visiting Dr D and having a consultation. He will look at the big picture and is clearly very driven to help people lead a happier, healthier life.

They are amazingly patient and understanding! I have been dealing with chronic pain for decades. When I'm in the waiting room and I hear them ask a patient about their pain level and I hear the patient say, "oh I am at 10!" I see someone standing unassisted, not sweating and talking coherently. This is not a 10! The current team is great. However, years ago, I too had problems with the front desk. It is rock-solid there now, it's a pleasure to work with them. They are absolutely part of the solution and not the problem! Doc runs a tight ship, my improved condition is directly related to the care I get here. As an aside, I have been dealing with a circulatory issue (plantar edema) for several years. After seeing a couple of doctors, with the only solution being compression and elevation I was frustrated. Working with the blood side of the practice, it turns out I have an endocrine issue! Who knew a pain doc would find that? Performance above and beyond any reasonable expectation.

I inherited what I call my father's Query Engine Mind, which has served me well in becoming a writer and a published author whose non-fiction book on UFOs has been selling steadily on Amazon for five years on April 9th. My research skills have also enabled me to scope out the best in their fields, which came in handy when I recently re-injured a herniated disc at L4-5 (which apparently is a more complex mess now than it was 25+ years ago when the snow skiing accident started it all), and I have lucked into a superb operation called the Greater Austin Pain Center. When Dr. Alan Silberberg walked into the consultation room, shook my hand, sat down and opened with, "I've studied your MRI images carefully, and you're in a real pickle here, buddy," I knew I'd met my doctor. He radiates intelligence the way my Dad did, and he's extremely blunt and direct and doesn't sugarcoat the facts--all the elements I need in a doctor for me to feel confident I'm in good hands. We've taken the approach of doing spinal epidurals (the same treatment that was very effective for me with the original injury), and I had my first session this week. I was face down on an operating table, so I can't visually describe what was done, but I can say that the needles weren't artlessly jammed into my lower back, they were slowly finessed into the damaged areas, and the steroid/pain killer mix was injected slowly and then with a more steady progression. The artful skill being utilized here was quite noticeable and greatly appreciated, and it clearly minimized the application pain (I chose no sedation). This doctor's impressive online CV most definitely matches his performance. Dr. Silberberg is surrounded by a top-notch staff of clinical professionals and front end office people, mostly an all-female crew. I've encountered nothing but friendly and polite helpfulness from everybody, both on the phone and in person. If they can maintain their level of excellence, friendliness and efficiency across the board, then I hope they corner the market here in Central Texas. My Dad often said, "The cream always rises to the top." Dr. Alan Silberberg and his crew have proven this to me. If you're a self-paying client like I am, this is the Go-To Team for you. They treat me great, and they've impressed me beyond words. I got lucky the day I found them.

I become very ill 2 years ago and developed a idiopathic falling disorder to which I still suffer from. I also have a high pain tolerance. When I was 41 years of age, I broke my hip. It was non traumatic when it happened. Unbeknownst to me I had severe osteoporosis. My femoral hip broke just from standing up so fast. Then of course I fell to the ground. And had to have surgery. It had to be done ASAP in order to stop any chances of infection. The very next morning they had me walking up and down the hospital with a walker. It was like a walk in the park to me and I didn't even need extra pain medicine at that point. They use two plates two rods and 12 screws. My point for bringing this up is I have a very strong pain tolerance and for you to understand the rest of the story you can kind of gauge of where I'm coming from.when I had my 3 tier spinal fusion on April 12th that's when I was at the mercy of the hospital and a very poor nursing staff. Let me start by telling you, when I woke up from surgery I thought that I was just going to die. I couldn't believe the amount of pain I was in. Then I come out to find the nurses saying hold on will get you some pain medicine. Really people? Anytime I needed to use the bathroom or a bed pan it would take up to 30 minutes sometime for someone to come they always shut the door so nobody hears you. When I was done I would ring the button and nobody would come by the time it was over 20 minutes I was screaming crying and begging them not to ignore me to come help me. They came when they heard that. They treated me physically rough and had no sense of compassion whatsoever. The first night there I was scolded like a six-year-old because I brought my own medication to show them so they would know what I needed. They try to embarrass me and talk about each one of how many there was and write it down. I wasn't embarrassed every single thing I had was a prescription from a doctor. She asked the nurse next to her to sign it, and the nurse + why. And the older nurse said it's just procedure just sign it. That's when the bell started going off in my head. They had no idea that I was a medical professional of 20 years. They did not in-service any of the staff on how to gently move me or pivot me. That should've been a regulatory thing for them to do before trying to help me move. They did not do this. So every time they move me it was like agony every second. Then they would get annoyed because I couldn't get up fast enough for them and say things under their breath. The one time I had a bowel movement in my bed pan and I heard the nurses complaining and she was cursing saying I don't get paid enough shit to do this. Then on many occasions I heard the nurses arguing over who was going to toilet me. One because I take so long and two they didn't like having to lift me up. And you could hear them down the hallway arguing about this. And this one the door was open. I weighed 135 pounds soaking wet. So I was not heavy at all for two people to lift. Yet they bitched Mont to complain about it and so they started sending in mail staff only. Everyone of the male staff or wonderful nurses treated me kindly and did not hurt me. All the females were exactly the opposite. And I never got my medication's to where I was supposed to. I would ask and explain ask and explain and tell them to compare the ones they took. But it didn't happen that way. I had to call my husband twice and then when the physician assistant came in he was all angry at me because of it. I know that my rights were violated especially the Hyppa ones. The way they treated my physical body was abusive. The fact they argued over who had to deal with me like I was a hard patient or something. I totally know what it takes to take care of a patient and I always thank them and tell them how much I appreciated them. It didn't matter they were still always annoyed to help me. Then The physician assistant try to make me go home early when it was just two days after my surgery. Mind you I couldn't even sit up by myself. He said everybody comes home after a couple days. I explain to him I am not everybody. So I was able to get two more days of doctors care. I was asked if I felt safe going home. I told the nurse "NO" . She asked why. I explained that I couldn't do anything by myself, not even able to sit up by myself. Her first response was "Are you scared of your husband? It took every ounce of my control not to yell at this woman. As I was sat up by the nurse and my husband I was in agony. The woman nurse acting like she gave a rats ass! All a show just for my husband. It took a full week for them to wash me after sweating from the physical part of the surgery. I also needed 2 blood tra

Im a GenXer, entering perimenopause at 49yrs old. I just moved to TX fm Southern California where I had access to some of the best medical in the world HOAG, UCLA, USC medical centers. Looking back I was prob in peri around age 44-45 with heavy cycles, brainfog, back sweats, major insomnia. She was one of the ONLY MD's who actually listened, saw and heard me. Its NOT normal to "deal with our next phase female symptoms". I went for a second opinion on a hysterectomy after seeing another gyn who I felt was treating me like a paycheck vs a patient. I was also gaining weight at a rapid amt which has never happened in my entire life. Dr. Abikhaled listened to me, explained why I am indeed a candidate for a hysterectomy based on my labs, ultrasound, biopsy, symptoms. She was also transparent sharing if I didn't feel comfortable or confident with her, she had 2 other colleagues she could refer me to. THIS is the type of medicine I need for me. Dr. Abikhalid is also a very clear communicator. She is very frank while having a nice bedside manner which I appreciate. Fast forward to pre-surgery consultation, based on my case I discussed keeping my ovaries bc Im not in full meno yet and didn't want to slam into meno like some of my friends did. She agreed that was a good option for me. I had my hysterectomy, preserving my ovaries via robotic surgery. It was 90min, outpatient. She was sure to have my pain meds ordered ahead of time. I had 4 small incisions from the surgery. No bleeding. I was off oxy on day 3. Managed pain with Tylenol/motrin. 1 week out I felt pretty strong, an ab binder would have been useful for the 1st 2 weeks esp for sleeping so buy 1 ahead of time (amazon has tons). Helps for ab core support. 3 weeks I was doing short walks outside yet still got fatigued pretty easily. Got back on my hrt patch and no more brain fog, no more insomnia, no more swollen hands and ankles. 6weeks I felt strong and fatigue finally was gone. I was cleared to do light weights again. Im at 8weeks. Im back exercising. Lifting up to 30lb. Back to weight training. Feeling strong, clear headed, no more swelling in my feet/ankles, insomnia is very little and i still get "mild" back sweats around 2/3am. Nothing like pre-hysterectomy where i was sweating through my shirt. If you have peri symptoms and painful or super heavy cycles like I had that is NOT normal. See Dr. Abikahlid. She is one of the best in womens health.
