I had to fill out some additional paperwork after arriving and then waited for a room. They are a smaller pet hospital, so it was pretty low and under-staffed. This means we waited about another 20 minutes to be seen by the doctor, which can be difficult if your pet is impatient and/ or in pain. Dr. K was really nice, though, and addressed our issue and any concerns, giving us an expectant time frame for recovery and what to see over the next couple of weeks. It took about 10 minutes or so to check out due to the amount of people there, which were only a few, and only one receptionist. With that in mind, they were fast for a smaller team, so I would just have a little more patience coming here; but then again, a lot of vets and pet hospitals have long wait times. The prices weren't bad and their exam fee was around $70 for the doctor to diagnose, which is pricy, but pretty average pricing in Westlake Village. The medicine was expensive (as always) BUT I didn't break the bank - which was a nice change. I will most likely be coming back here with my pup the next time we need something!

I decided to do so to share my experience and allow an opportunity for growth. I wanted to be proactive so I am thankful this wasn't an emergency. My pup has extreme allergy issues. I recently moved to So Cal from No Cal and started a new vet relationship. I explained to Dr. C what the pups experience had been and what I needed. I thought that went well. Scheduled a follow up visit to check in and review protocol as this is when his allergies take a bad turn. I specifically requested Dr c again and was told to come on a Tuesday. I arrived 10 mind ahead of appt to give them time to check me in and to be respectful of their time. First - Dr C wasn't even scheduled to work that day. It appears they may have double booked as there was another couple waiting with their pup. We both were taken to a room and the other couple were seen right away. I waited over half an hour and nothing. When I stepped out to ask if the vet tech could at least vaccinate the pup that seemed to throw everyone for a loop. Please no it is a large and appears to be quiet office. Many people seem to have not a lot going on and it appeared as if I may be disturbing then rather that being a paying customer with a request. When after standing around and nothing seemed to be happening other than just wait around. I thought this wouldn't work and left and got what seemed not of pure intent with a have a good day. If you are a parent you know what I mean when I say tone wasn't genuine. Now I am not angry just disappointed at people lack if care and kindness. I chose to drive further looking for a responsive and kind business. For me, this is not it. I was able to start service with a new vet within 2 miles from where I live. My message, be kind but expect the same in return. If not, go somewhere else. That is all we can do.

Dr.Siegal and his entire team are some of the most caring, efficient, safe and dependable people…read morewe've ever met. They are remarkable communicators, and I love that they do not try to up sell you. They respect your boundaries and financial health, they never try to push or guilt trip you. Best of all, they do not tell you wildly outrageous ideas on what might be the cause of x, y, z. Every time we have met with Dr. Seigal whether it is in person or over the phone, we've always felt he was such a generous, gracious person. We never felt rushed. When I ask his staff a question and they don't know the answer, they are always honest and polite and will tell you they don't know and will proceed to place you on a brief hold so they can get the correct information. The staff has a good attitude and assume that you are a caring owner. When Dr. Siegal says he'll call you or do anything, he always holds his word and he even called us when he was out of town. The facility is extremely clean, the cleanest vet I've ever been to. There are so many reasons why you should consider Dr. Siegal and his team, these are just a few. Plenty of parking in their private shared lot and street parking. Very cute stores, restaurants, and fitness yoga studios nearby so if you are coming from further away and need to leave your pet for a few hours you can totally patronize some of the other local businesses. Overall 10/10 experience. I'm glad we took a chance on this vet. To be fair we had exhausted many of the other highly rated vets in the San Fernando valley area and none of them cut it. Are you paying a little more to see the doctor here and get the tests and other services? Yes, probably a little more. However, for me personally, it's completely justified because of the integrity and seamless experiences we've had. Lastly, every single time we have gone in for our appointment, we haven't had to wait longer than 5 minutes. Also they are always giving you a warm greeting which I literally cannot say about any of the other vets. Last little detail, but really there's no detail too small, I have not seen any of the staff doom scroll or look checked out. When they are on the clock, they appear to be working and they seem dedicated. Little things like that have a major impact on professionalism and trust. If I see anyone on the clock doom scrolling or just super engaged on their cell phone it is 100% a red flag and a sign that they don't care, aka my sign to leave a business and not return. I want to spend my hard earned money on places that are invested and care. Dr. Siegal and his staff seem happy and I believe a happy staff is a more efficient staff. It is a safe space, you can openly share your concerns, wants and needs- they are listening with open hearts and they genuinely care. Sadly I've been to probably more than eight different vets and none of them have even come close to Dr. Siegal. Because of those awful experiences, I was starting to lose hope. But I knew from our first phone call with Dr. Siegal's office, when I was literally picking their brain and asking 20+ questions and complaining about past experiences, I knew they were the one because they never made me feel rushed, I never felt judged, I never felt unappreciated and I felt they were truly listening and caring. Anyways, I'm just extremely grateful for Dr.Siegal and his staff.

We were referred to Access in Woodland Hills without any meaningful warning about what that experience would be like. At no point were we told that Access requires full payment up front, offers no flexibility, or operates in a way that prioritizes financial compliance over humane communication. Had we known this in advance, we would have asked for other referral options. What was most upsetting is that when we later experienced dismissive and coercive treatment at Access, it became clear that this was not an anomaly. Many independent specialty clinics do offer payment plans, transparent conversations, or at least respectful explanations of alternatives. None of that context was shared with us before the referral. A referring veterinarian has a responsibility to do more than simply hand off a case. Referrals should include guidance, informed consent, and a clear picture of what a client is walking into, especially when the situation is urgent and emotionally charged. By sending us to Access in Woodland Hills without preparation or options, this clinic put us in an unnecessarily distressing situation at one of the most vulnerable moments a pet owner can experience. I expected advocacy and transparency. I did not expect to feel abandoned when guidance mattered most.

I was greeted with kindness right away and taken to a room almost immediately. The hospital itself was spotless, quiet, and very organized, which made a stressful situation much easier. Dr. Salas was incredibly caring and patient throughout the entire visit. She even got down on the floor to help my cat feel more comfortable, which was something I had never seen before. She took the time to carefully explain everything after the tests were done and sat with me to go over the situation and next steps. Since it was late and I was overwhelmed, I asked her to repeat everything, and she was more than happy to do so without making me feel rushed at all. Every staff member I interacted with was kind, attentive, and genuinely caring, even in the middle of the night. They answered all of my questions and made sure both my cat and I felt taken care of from start to finish. I was also pleasantly surprised by the pricing. Compared to other emergency hospitals like ACCESS Specialty Animal Hospital and VCA Animal Hospitals, the prices at Western Veterinary Center were much more reasonable than I expected. I have honestly never experienced this level of compassion and care anywhere else. I highly recommend Western Veterinary Center and Dr. Kalee Salas to anyone looking for exceptional veterinary care for their pet.

I left with a verbal prognosis of "two to three months" and a recommendation for palliative management only. Her hepatic masses were described as too risky to operate on. CT and surgical consultation were mentioned as options but framed as not really worth pursuing... I sought a second opinion at a board-certified surgical specialty hospital the following week. A three-phase contrast CT and a surgical evaluation reframed the case entirely. Three weeks after the original ultrasound, my dog had a successful liver mass debulking. Pathology confirmed two malignant tumors with clean histologic margins and no vascular invasion. A third mass that had been grouped with them on imaging came back benign. Her revised prognosis is significantly longer than the original "two to three month" estimate. This review is not about the diagnostic findings, which were largely correct. It is about the recommendation that flowed from them. A definitive terminal prognosis was given before any tissue diagnosis or CT had been performed. If you are ever told your pet has months to live based on an ultrasound alone, please get a CT and a surgical consultation before making decisions you cannot undo. The diagnostic next steps available to my dog were the difference between two months and what is looking like a much longer runway. Front desk and technical staff were professional and kind. My concern is specific to the prognostic framing of this one visit.
