I went here as part of my search to find a new Naturopathic/Western Medicine solution for my health care. I set an intake appointment and was urged to choose Dr. Chinwah. My friend's recommendation had been for Dr. Levitt, but I wanted to be open minded, so I thought I'd give it a try. My first impression on walking into the waiting room was good. The front office person was polite and the waiting room feels spacious and inviting at the same time. It did have a feel of a larger office, and I am used to smaller naturopathic offices. I just was willing to go through the change, as I thought the combination of both types of modalities would be a good direction for me. The first person to take my information was the physician's assistant, and she was great. I had brought in, as requested on the web site, all the vitamins and supplements I took and we went over them. Then I waited for the Dr. who finally came. He was quite abrupt and combative with me. He claimed I did not need my thyroid medication initially (that I've been on for years and do actually need) until he looked further done my test results and saw the rest of the results. Then he agreed to give me my prescription as long as I would get my labs redone, and abruptly ended the session before allowing me to go over all my other health concerns. I had thought it was an intake appointment, and I am used to going to naturopaths who treat the whole person. The practice is listed as having a strong natural medicine component as well as Western medicine, so I was surprised that the doctor did not take the time to do the full intake, but relieved to have my thyroid prescribed, since without it I get sick. I left and the front office promised to submit to my insurance. I emphasized that I would pay if the insurance did not pay (we have this new type of ACA insurance that is preventative only) but she wouldn't take my money then, preferring to submit first. After submitting the claim it came back denied. Again I was going to pay, but the front office asked me to call the insurance company and find out why it was denied. I called the insurance office and they told me the claim needed to be marked as preventive and it was not. They told me to have the doctor resubmit the claim as preventative and they would pay it. The insurance company felt the intake appointment was definitely preventative care. When I called the front office they assured me they would submit with the requested code. However, the backoffice later called my WORK phone (not my cell phone which is my primary contact) and left a huffy message that the appointment was NOT preventative and they would NOT resubmit for payment, as if I were trying to do something illegal or unethical. Actually I had offered to pay out of pocket several times, and was only resubmitting due to the request of both the insurance company AND the front office. So I called the front office, who graciously took a small discount off the entire cost especially as seeing the doctor did not do a full intake, and I paid my bill. I got my retest at the labs and got my thyroid renewed, but continued looking for a new doctor's office to try. I have found a new doctor. I would guess that this doctor's office is a mixed bag and your mileage may vary. You might like this office if you get the right doctor and your insurance is the right type for the back office. My experience wasn't so good, so I just wanted the doctor's office to know they have a few areas they do well and a few that could be improved. read more

ZERO STARS NEGATIVE STARS I went to this practice after relocating to the East Valley. Saw Roxy Anderson nurse practitioner who was not interested in hearing what my health concerns were but more interested in talking to me about diabetic management. I am aware that my blood sugars are high and I have an elevated A1 C, I know I can manage this with diet and exercise given some time. Roxy insisted that I get started on two types of diabetic medications one of which was an injectable. I spent the next 3 weeks feeling awful and sick, neither of which I have time for in my busy life. I also believe Roxy had some transference issues and she told me all about her family members that suffered from diabetes. She also told me about the foods I need to eat and wanted me to see a diabetic food manager. None of this was what I went to see her about, and had concerns about. I know I need to lose weight and exercise but don't need an NP shaming me about it. How about acknowledging that lifestyle changes take time. I was then told to have labs done yet again which cost a lot of money and return for another visit. This time I wanted to talk about my concerns however was not given that opportunity. She walked in the room with a nasty attitude and stated so I understand you're not going to do what I recommended and you don't care about your health. This was a misunderstanding from the MA who appeared to be 12 years old when I said that Roxy is more concerned than I am about diabetes. She Was unempathetic uncaring and very cold. I tried to explain that I cannot afford the cost of coming into see her so often and continuing to have lab draws and her response was she will not treat me unless I follow what she tells me to do. I LEFT THE OFFICE IN TEARS. The final straw was today when I called the practice for the 3rd time since my visit to ask to have my hormones replacement medication to be called in to my pharmacy that I Have been using for several years. The receptionist who answered the phone said they would not send that in until I paid the $100 balance due on the account. The people I have dealt with inthis practice are so self involved not at all caring about what their patients want. Terrible....you can never see the actual doctor, the turnover is incredible and makes you wonder why. I arrived at 220 for a 240 appointment, people who had come in after me had been seen and by 3pm I went to the front desk to ask what was going on. When she came back she said the MA was having computer trouble!!! Seriously? You make me wait bc your computer isnt working? I went in trying to see the person I had been seeing only to find they had left and I was seeing someone new. After sitting with me for about 6 minutes she basically said I cant help you and to find another doctor!!!! WTH read more

I'm a new patient. They ordered lab tests and now they will not give me my results over the phone. I need to pay for another appointment in order to get my lab results. Well I had an emergency in the family, and I'm out of town! Oh but they are quick to get your lab results from other doctors! The place is clean. Walking into their office makes me feel like I'm walking into a spa! This clinic offers massages.......Imagaine that! I will return because they are holding most of my labs hostage!!!! They did call me about a week later to give me just one lab result! They said in order for me to get the other lab results I need to pay for a doctors visit! I switched doctors! I have been going to Innovative Primary Care for about 4 years now and have mixed reviews, mostly negative though. I love the cleanliness of the office. The are very considerate of the environment and big on whole body health. One of the front office girls has always been rude, in person and on the phone. They have a high turn over rate with PA's and nurses, I rarely see the same one twice. But all have been very attentive and kind. The wait is usually really long. I usually wait at least 20-30 minutes after my appointment time to be seen. Three times I showed up to my appointment and was told my appointment was on a different day (no, I am not forgetful and do have a sharp mind, this was not my fault). And recently have been having difficulty getting my test results back due to their office confusion. Plus they make you make an appointment and pay your copay just to fill out paperwork. The only reason I stayed with them is because I haven't found a new one to switch to yet. read more

I chose this location because it's close to home. Went through 3 separate PA's during my 3 years experience with them. Was coping ok, but when it came to regularly refill my prescriptions, things got sour very quick. Several attempts by the pharmacy and myself requesting refills, after which I received notice from the facility manager that "I failed to follow treatment plan". This sounds like notice of termination! Bottom line, after speaking with said manager (will not mention HER name), it was very evident that in order to cover her a$$ and the people involved, it was easier to call me a liar. There are two sides to every story, but as a customer, I was deeply disgusted and concerned that such a person is able to hold a managerial position. I'm hopeful that by writing this, someone will benefit from my experience. read more

Ive been going here for more then 8 years and in general have had good experiences. I do however HATE when your Dr. leaves the practice and you call to make an appointment and are told they no longer work there, and you just saw that Dr a month ago, which has now happened to me on five occasions. What if I don't trust the other Dr.s at the practice? Dr. Levitt must be difficult to work for when so many good Dr.s keep leaving. read more

My husband was wanting a new primary care provider and I told him to go to see Roxie Anderson at Innovative Primary Care. He returned about an hour after he left, and shared that he never saw Roxie. He arrived at the office 20 minutes early for his 2:20 appointment, as directed for his first visit, and waited until 2:45. At this point he took his paperwork and left. I am so embarrassed that I referred him to his office. (The ironic thing is I left my last health care provider because of having to wait 45 minutes to an hour after my scheduled appointment time to see anyone). I have nothing but good things to say about Roxie Anderson, she is wonderful. I hope that the front office staff can get some training, and that scheduling procedures can be reviewed. read more

My wife and I have been hormone replacement pellet patients for many years. The last time a few month back my wife had a very rude experience with Dr. Levitt as my wife refused to wear a mask. We almost left this practice at this point. I convinced my wife this may have been a bad day and to stay with the practice. Today, 6-24-20, we both went in for pellets. We drove an hour one way for our appointment. My wife was prepared to endure a mask due to the mandate but I cannot due to a medical condition. We were asked what my medical condition is which is a violation of HIPPA. We were also refused service which is a ADA violation. Not sure what my next step is here. The irony is a medical doctor is refusing me service due to my medical condition. The Dr. has no idea how many other doctors are in our own neighborhood but we were going out of our way to support her. We also sent her a few referrals. Btw I do not normally post any negative things about businesses so you can imaging how irate I am. read more

I have been going to this office for about 5 years now and would not go anywhere else. I have recommended this office to countless people and now my mom and husband are clients. Old fashion service is the best way to describe my experiences with members of the staff. My husband had an outbreak that needed a specialist's care, not only did the Dr at this office admit that this was out of his area of expertise, he made a same day appointment for us. We were both pleasantly surprised a couple days later with a personal call to see how things were going. Who does that anymore? This is a practice worth joining for your primary care needs. read more

Terrible! Customer what? Will not give you the time of day. Have been going here for over 15 years and enough is enough. Every month there is new PAs and NPs forget about building any kind of relationship. You might see 3 different people just for them to say yes we can do that and as soon as you pay oh we are sorry you need to see this PA who will do. What a waste of money. I found Dr Levitt on my insurance provider's site, and it said she was taking patients, so I called and scheduled an appointment. They told me she wasn't taking new patients, so there was that. I can understand if that were the only issue. Sometimes stuff is inaccurate. I scheduled my appointment with Dr Chinwa instead. I saw him, and it seemed like he had no idea how to fill out an FMLA claim. He wanted to give me leave only for treatment, and no other time off. (I have personal business hours for treatment. My FMLA is for personal illness, if I do t have an appointment on any given day.) I asked for a copy of the form, after he'd filled it out, but they would not provide me with one, saying they'd need to retype it. (What's to retype? You send it in as-is.) As of today, my FMLA due date, they have not sent in this form. I went back to have labs done, and that was no issue. I scheduled my follow up last week at 9:20. I arrived at 9:21, and waited 40 minutes. I spoke with the receptionist, who told me Dr Jane was running behind, and that there was still one person ahead of me. I scheduled my appointment at 9:20! Why the hell are they scheduling me at 9:20, if they're not going to see me until 11:00? I decided to reschedule, and told them if she wasn't ready by the time my appointment was scheduled, I would be cancelling my appointment, and not doing business with them again. Well, I'm here at 9:40 today, and they told me there are three others ahead of me. I'm out. read more

Very, very difficult to get even a simple prescription refill...providers (nurse practitioners, etc.) seem to change very frequently...last NP I saw was detached, disinterested and totally lacking in professional empathy. Fancy office-staff mediocre at best. read more

I took my father there because he wasn't doing well. He had been going to this office for the past 2 years. It was obvious something was wrong he could hardly walk or speak. After Dr Chinwah asked him questions he couldn't answer they told us to have him go get blood work done and try and see a neurologist. It seemed to me he was having a stroke but I figured the doctor knew best. The worst part was trying to get my father out to the car he had a walker but was having a hard time using it. Not one person in that office offered to help me get him safely in the car they just watched as we struggled. I knew something more was wrong with him and did not have time to wait for lab work to be done so I took him to the emergency. By the time we got him there he had several strokes and was admitted. The strokes were so severe he never recovered and passed away 5 weeks later this January 21. I have never wrote a review before but this time I feel I need to. I came to this practice as a referral from a family member and I was extremely disappointed. Dr. Chinwah was absolutely awful. I expressed my issues and what I knew I needed to feel better and he completely disregarded what I was saying. He told me that he wouldn't prescribe the things I needed and just gave me referrals to other doctors. All I needed was a cough medicine and a refill on a current prescription. It was a complete waste of money and time and I left very frustrated and with zero help. Needless to say I will never be returning. read more

I've been going to this doctor for a couple of years I went today and because of two accidents on the freeway I get there 10 minutes late and this little bitchy woman at the desk says you're late for your appointment you know that she copped an attitude. She was talking to me like I was a child and I basically came back at her this place needs to check their attitude at the door and treat their patients with respect. My wife had a 4PM appointment and we arrived 15 minutes early. We were told at check-in that the Dr. Levitt was running about 15 minutes late, which is understandable at the end of the day. At 4:40 we got tired of waiting and left. It seems that it is unacceptable for a patient to be 10 minutes late as evidenced by the first post here, but perfectly OK for the Dr. to leave us in the waiting room for 40 or more minutes with no updates as to when she might be free. I'm here to say that her times is not one bit more valuable than ours and that without people like us, people like her are no longer required. read more

I have been to this practice for the past 15 plus years. New patients may be shocked about the wait time, but as soon as they are seen, they will find that it is well worth the wait. Unlike other doctors that zip you in and zip you out and you don't even know what hit you, this practice is very personal, caring and thorough. The delay lies in the fact that Dr. Levitt is extremely THOROUGH and takes ever detail regarding your health and symptoms and wellbeing jnto account and ANALYZES EVERYTHING. This is not a revolving door type of medical service. If that is what you want go to Urgent Care or Walgreens. Or try sitting at an Emergency Room for hours and probably get Mersa. Arizona in LOADED with doctors I am sure you will find someone that meets your requirements. This is the way medicine should be. If you don't like it join the Jetsons. read more

Very disappointing and alarming experience with Dr. Chinwah. I cannot recommend the practice and although i have been a patient for almost 9 years, my last experience was the straw that broke the camels back. I have been going to Dr. Levitt for about 20 years. There is a reason that it is called INNOVATIVE Primary Care. They are thorough and do not let you out of the exam room until you are completely satisfied and your questions have been answered. I am a nurse with lots of medical problems. I don't know where I would be if not for Dr. Levitt. I have found that all the PA's or Nurse Practicianers are very capable, very educated, and would not be there if they weren't up to par. I have sent many of my co-workers from Banner to Dr. Levitt and they all love her. Yes, I am aware that there is some turnover of PA's and Nurse Practicianers. It is what it is. After all of these years I have not met a single provider I did not trust or like personally. The front desk staff is nice and efficient. I call ahead to see if the provider is running on time or late and arrive accordingly. When you seek out the provider, you know they are educated and capable. When you go to McDonalds, you get fast service, but the food isn't quality. Here you might have to wait, but the service is as good as it gets. When you are in to see your provider, the client after you is waiting. The wait is because you are not rushed through, you are the focus of attention and there may be options that need to be explained to you. You get 100% of their time with you and you do not leave until every detail is reviewed. read more
