Fast forward to 2025 and…read moreI managed to get an appointment with her as my Primary Care Dr recommended her (my PC Dr has been taking care of any women's health check ups I have needed, along with referrals for mammograms since the pandemic). I found the office staff friendly, although the phone they used to contact me was unlisted which was odd. Dr Giordano was brusque, condescending and I was not comfortable during our appointment, she didn't want to know much about my health and didn't perform any check ups, then prescribed a form of medicine she thought I should take, not the one I was on. I have been having problems with the meds and my next appointment is in a few weeks. I just received a letter today informing me that Dr Giordano is no longer accepting HMSA, (Hawaiian Medical Service Association - one of the major insurers in HI) my insurance here on Maui. I called to cancel my upcoming appointment with Cindy the receptionist and Cindy was unaware that HMSA was no longer being accepted by Dr Giordano. Now I have to find another Gynecologist on island in a hurry to help me change my meds back to what I was originally taking.

This doctor was my doctor for eight years. During that time I watched my friend suffer through…read morecomplications of her procedures from this doctor that were easily fixed when she moved back to the mainland. Earlier in the year another friend of mine was having some issues and after less than a month of being her patient she had my friend have a hysterectomy as a first resort rather than a last resort. I have been attempting to make an appointment and Dr.Lakoni Obgyn has insisted on a Tele med appointment for a Pap smear. I received several calls from her receptionist trying to bully me into a Tele med appointment for a Pap smear. Then I called Friday asking to speak with the doctor. She called Monday morning and when she went to my voicemail told me I should be served somewhere else very rudely on my voicemail Because I did not answer the one time she personally attempted to call me. Then her receptionist called me back when I had tried calling and she assured me the doctor would be calling me and that I needed to be attentive to my phone. It has been hours and I have not received a call back. I believe at one time she was a good doctor but now she has become snobby and rude. I would avoid this Doctor who seems to be motivated only by money and expensive procedures that are appropriate.

I showed up at 1:10 PM. At 1:50 PM. I was told that she never sees people before within a half hour of their appointment time. So I left and found another gynecologist. After 30 years! Does not treat her patients well. Has no ability to discern what each particular patient needs, and then provide it. It's all about her, not the patient.

I had a terrible experience with this doctor's office. The receptionist Patty rescheduled me twice…read morein one week making my last appointment for the Kihei office instead of Wailuku. Then, she called me 2.5 hours before my appointment and said I had to come in early. After that she called me back and claimed I would not be covered by my insurance for my visit (which was a lie). I called my insurance company and addressed all of her concerns and she she still told me I would not be able to see the doctor for my scheduled visit even though I had driven from the North Shore to Kihei. She was nasty and patronizing in the office in front of other patients and oddly convoluted in her reasoning for why I would not be allowed to keep my appointment. I have filed a formal complain with HMSA.
