I have been working with Niki for about 4 months now and she has taught me so many tips and tricks to help me engage and focus my eyes synchronously with improvements shown with baseline and progress tests performed by Dr Chen. My initial call was fielded by a very pleasant employee who greeted me and made the initial visit scheduling easy. I have had glasses since 2nd grade and when my eye doctor retired, I had been bouncing around eye doctors for the last 10 years always unsatisfied with my glasses, prescription, and overall visit; then, I found Insight Vision Center Optometry. All the doctors are incredibly talented and have such a passion for patient care. I recently saw Dr. Shram and I did not feel rushed during my appointment and he was very thorough. It's so silly, but I used to get anxious deciding which is clearer 1 or 2, and Dr. Shram made sure I was 100% sure and did not make me feel silly for needing to see the options again. Kim helped me pick out frames and made sure I had the best options available. I did not feel like I was being nickel and dimed but rather that I was getting a good pair of glasses I wasn't going to regret later down the line like I've done so often before. I have also had the pleasure of seeing Dr. Mai and Dr. Lam; If my eyeballs fell out tomorrow, I would trust them to care for me! Stellar care. Dr. Schramm is a boss when it comes to eye care. Staff is super courteous and they cater to the kiddies as well as adults. They taking care of everyone up in there. I have karatoconus, which is like the astigmatism of astigmatism. I've already gone through cornea cross linking at a different optometrist in Houston. While the cross linking ensures that your eyes don't get worse, it does not fix your vision. My vision is trash without augmentation. I was still wearing soft contacts on my initial visit with Dr Schramm. He got me to try the scleral lenses. And let me just tell you, they've changed my life!! I have nearly 20/20 vision with these bad boys. I wear them when I go surfing. They are as comfortable if not more than soft lenses once you get the fit right. There is definitely a learning curve to put them in, but after two years, I can do an installation of my eyes without the need of a mirror. It's definitely the most inconvenient option as far as augmentations go, but it;'s worth it. I also carry a plunger and sterile water and drops when I am on the go as I've had on only two occasions (in two years) a situation where I needed to a lens out out due to air working its way into the lens. I can these scleral lens up to 10-12 hours. These suckers have changed my life. If you are an active person and HATES the limitations of soft contacts, go see Dr. Schramm! He is kind, knowledgeable, and dedicated to providing stellar care to his patients. read more

I decided to go to this optometry office based on the reviews but have been disappointed ever since the initial appointment. I had an eye exam and contact fitting. Contacts took a while for them to finally provide the correct prescription. I had gone for years to an office in Fullerton where they would always provide me with friendly service and optometrist who know what they are doing. I moved near this location and decided to give this place a try. If one asks a question, it seems as if it's a nuisance. And if you want to try a different type of contacts within the same year of the contact fitting, then it's a whole new fitting being charged. I had my fitting finalized in April of 2024 and apparently I need a whole new fitting as of October 2024. All they want is your money. They don't care about you or the health of your eyes like other optometrists do. read more

I've gone twice. The doctors are nice, but the lab they contract with made mistakes both years. For the most recent mistake, Insight Vision was unwilling to request a fix, so I've wasted a month waiting, and need to get another exam at another optometrist to get my prescription updated. read more

Everyone's incredibly nice and polite, and they typically offer strong customer service, especially when it comes to kids. They were also EXTREMELY responsive when I had an emergency medical issue - I got swimmer's ear in my eye, and they got me in right away. But two issues: 1. They're not always great at diagnosing specialist cases/communicating the message: I was having pressure related to dry eye and thyroid disease, and they suggested I go see a neuro-ophthalmologist. They had one of their front desk people call and leave a message on a long holiday weekend, telling me to make the appointment ASAP, as I could potentially have a tumor or water behind my eyes. Obviously, I panicked when I got that message, and called in a ton of favors *and* fundraised money to get into both the Gavin Hebert Center at UCI and to see another specialist right away. Both of the specialists were extremely polite and said my eyes were fine. I'm just aging, and obviously, the thyroid disease might cause issues. And both of them looked at me like I was absolutely nuts, when I tried to explain what the office had said re: the potential for a tumor. When I circled back to the office and spoke to someone else, they said that the optometrist who originally gave the neuro-ophthalmologist recommendation just wanted to get some baseline tests, and there was no concern of a tumor (?!) When I gave the optometrist feedback re: the front desk's message re: the tumor, he didn't follow up. 2. Prices here are deeply inflated. I knew I had to switch optometrists, after I was quoted $600+ for gas perm contact lenses - the costs should be around $300, max. Like the reviewer before me, they insisted on charging me for a second contact lens fitting. Switched to a different optometrist, and haven't looked back. read more

Was referred to Insight Vision for a wider range of children's opticals by our optometrist after finding out that my 11 year old needed glasses. We were helped by Rachel who was super patient with us. My son tried on almost 70% of the opticals in store and finally decided on a pair of Oakley's. He kept going back and forth on 2 different colors. Since it wasn't available, we had to order it. We couldn't commit right then and there because I wanted my son to be 100% confident in his selection. Rachel was extremely understanding after hearing this and even encouraged us take our time. It was such a relief and thank you Rachel for having the patience of a saint with us. We called Rachel a few days later to order his Oakleys and are currently waiting for his lens to be fitted. Told me to wait at least 30 minutes before I could get help. I decided to make another appointment to come back since nobody could help me. Easy 5 stars. I was seen by Dr. Valerie Lam for an annual vision exam and contact lens fitting + follow-up. Dr. Lam was extremely professional and helped answer all of my questions/concerns regarding my myopia. One of the best qualities about the check-up was how thorough and meticulous Dr. Lam was - although there were many other patients on the weekend, it never felt rushed and Dr. Lam accounted for all my concerns regarding my vision. We were able to get some trial contact lenses going and they were truly one of the best fits that I have ever had. I also thought it was really cool that there were other technicians and scribes that helped take notes and facilitate the entire process. In addition to purchasing new contact lenses, I also bought a new pair of glasses. Thank you Raquel for helping pick out great matching frames for me and sorting out my options! This yelp review is long overdue. I have both of my kids cared by Dr. Valerie Lam. I could not vouch for a better care and knowledge from a respectable and highly knowledged eye doctor such Insight Vision Center Optometry. All of the three doctors are exceptional. Coming from a medical background and having managed a medical group, I will not go to a doctor or medical group that are beneath me in knowledge and courtesy. I have a very high expectation for a doctor or medical group to take care of my family and so far Insight Vision Center Optometry exceeded my expectations in all level from knowledge, courtesy, customer service etc. I have yet to find any complaints for their service. Both of my kids have astigmatism, and they need atropine drop to maintain their astigmatism at minimum until they could be on ortho K and Lasix later on (18 years old or older). I have interviewed so many eye doctors and could not find any optometry group as good as this one. They kept my kids engage and relax. Never once, we had problems with the kids when we're at the office. The kids loved to go here. Have you ever heard that kids loved going to their doctors? NEVER. I have been with Insight Vision for five years at least, and kinda bump that I have to leave a not good review today. I have an appt with optician, thought i can come in and out like 15 mins (already have a frame so no decision need to be made). When I checked in for my appt, the office seems to be crowded. So they told me to wait. Apparently the wait took almost 20 mins. What triggered me is that they didn't even do a check before calling me (20 mins after my appointment time, when I already checked in and is seating in the waiting area which obviously not to hard to see). So funny so that I decided to pick up the call!!!!!! Do a proper check in please, I don't mind to wait but I don't like it when pp not do in thing properly. Dr. Mai saw me on a last minute notice as I called into their office after trying multiple offices in the area for an emergency walk in. No other offices would take me the same day. I finally called Insight and spoke with Stefany who took my call and was so understanding of the urgency of my (Corneal Ulcer) and help me set up an appointment with the doctor the same day. I saw Dr. Mai and learned more in this appointment and office then I have in any other place I've been for eye check up. They are so thorough and help explain things to help you understand what was happening with my eye. I had a few follow up appointments shortly after with Dr. Honma who was also extremely knowledgeable, amazing and also and made me feel comfortable right away. Through her I was referred to a corneal specialist. From beginning to end this office is absolutely outstanding on professionalism from the receptionist to the doctors and just about any person working there is so welcoming and able to help answer any questions you may have. Had it not been for Insight I could have lost vision my vision in one eye. I'm super thankful to the doctors and everyone who saw me through the process to help me with my corneal ulcer. I have a 10month old and will be bringing her here soon for her first eye appointment! They go above and beyond for their patients. We found @insightvisionoc and are AH-MAZED at their Ortho-k night time contacts they offer to not only correct but prevent our kids eyes from getting worse! Willow has been wearing the night time contacts for 3 nights and during the day doesn't need anything...and has 20/20 vision!!!! It's pretty crazy. I have never found an Optometrist office that were so transparent, and genuine. Typically, some locations don't seem to understand families have insurance, and want/tend to overcharge. In this location, they will not overcharge nor make you feel pressured to make a decision. I could keep going on and on about how amazing they were, and how it all began; but to keep it short and sweet they are AMAZING! My 5 year old has been going to weekly vision therapy sessions here for a while now. His coordination is noticeably better and has an easier time playing with all the other kiddos in the field. Everyone is so nice and informative since the first time I called for a consult! They set us up with a treatment plan and has age appropriate exercises that has helped improve his vision. (And not to mention I've found myself needing some practice on my vision too) It's great to be able to find a practice that uses so many different modalities to keep the treatment interesting for the kiddos so that it's not a chore to do the exercises at home.
