I was excited to finally try the raves insomnia cookies. I'm one of the few who doesn't care too much for cookies, so going here wasn't my first choice. But we were celebrating a huge accomplishment so I agree to go with the group. When I walked it, it was a small building with a simple counter and a bar off to the side. The menu is towards the left, as the cookies were displayed in the front with various flavors of cookies and ice cream. I got the 'wich, which is just a sandwich cookie. Two cookies of your choice (doesn't have to be the same), and your choice of ice cream. I picked that one because I don't like drinking straight milk, so it gave me that milkiness I was looking for when eating cookies. I picked the snickerdoodle and the peanut chip cookie around classic vanilla. The cookies are left in a warm station below the display. So as I was taking pictures of my dessert, the cookie was sliding off of the ice cream. I'm not sure if it was the placement of the cookies, but the peanut butter chip cookie was on top and so much softer and more gooey than the snickerdoodle, that was on the bottom. I assume it was because the ice cream made the cookie harder. The ice cream is super creamy. It really complimented the cookie well. Would I come back, yes, if my friends suggest it; not on my own accord. It didn't change me. Overall, it was too sweet for me, (duh, it's sweet). It was a little expensive for my taste. But, if my friends want it and willing to drive, I'll tag along. read more

Did y'all know Insomnia has ice cream??!! Ok first things first. My office usually orders these cookies and I try to take them to events because every single time they are de-freakin-licious. Warm gooey center just the way I like 'em! The classic m&m is the bomb but I haven't met any of their cookies I didn't like. Do yourself a favor and order some of these bad boys (if you're lucky enough to live nearby) Today we wanted something sweet after dinner and insomnia has been on my mind...so we showed up at the store front. It's under the university housing and next to a Taco Bell -lucky students! lol And to my surprise...they also serve ice cream! You can get an ice cream cookie sandwich! Like holy moly, diabeetuz. I just had to try the birthday cake ice cream and it did not disappoint. My fave ice cream flavor ever and they had a great rendition of it with the beautiful blue icing swirl and big funfetti sprinkles! We also got the 6 pack of cookies for $10 and got a smattering of deliciousness including double chocolate chunk, m&m and chocolate chunk. Yum! The only reason this isn't 5 stars is because the store front doesn't really encourage hanging out. There are bar stools lining the window and a stoop outside the door but nothing cute and inviting. Maybe that's the point. Get your cookies and go? Idk..also the dude working was by himself so service was kinda slow and he wasn't very lively at all. But I will say every delivery person I've met has been super nice and prompt. read more

I dropped by today to check out the cookies on the way back from lunch. I was impressed with the larger $4 cookies: Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup and Triple Chocolate. I got 2 of the smaller Classic Cookies for hubby: White Chocolate Macadamia Nut. Hubby mentioned these were some of the best cookies he's tried. The cashier was working hard ringing up orders, as well as going back to box the cookies. My order was correct and I was out of there fast - happy customer. read more

My husband surprised me and ordered a dozen cookies for our anniversary after midnight. This is proof that there is a God, because he only ate two. They will deliver cookies to you. Not sure of what the delivery distance is but we stayed at the Crowne Plaza Hotel which was less than 2 miles away. I had chocolate chip, peanut butter and oatmeal. Went into the Downtown Akron location today at 3pm to be greeted by the rudest young lady. Obviously this young girl hates her job as I asked questions I could tell she didn't want to be bothered and basically blew me off. I asked her why all the drinks in the drink cooler were warm and she said because its broke that's why. So I ordered cookies anyway thinking I'm here I might as well and as I am pulling my money out she says very rudely we're cashless so I said ok you win I'm leaving obviously this girl didn't want to wait on me from the start but the attitude probably starts at the top with management not accepting cash. Honestly, I was a bit skeptical that my cookies would come out warm... but they do! They sit in a warming drawer until ready for consumption. It was exactly what I was craving: warm, gooey, chocolatey cookies. I went for the 6pack: 2 chocolate chunk, 2 double chocolate chunk, and 2 white chocolate macadamia. As I said, exactly what I was craving, but they weren't anything else amazing. So $10 for 6 cookies that are like ones I could bake at home seemed a bit steep. I do appreciate the ice cream sandwiches though. LOTS of ice cream in between the cookies that it's almost not even like a sandwich. Yum! 3am ! This place is open until 3AM & they deliver!Ok now that's out my system I can talk abt the cookies. My bestie introduced me to this place when she brought some cookies over my place for me and my daughter. We pretty much inhaled them (that's how fast we ate them). I honestly can't even remember the exact flavors she brought over I just knew it was super good. I went back and tried the triple chocolate chunk, snicker doodle & macadamia nut ice cream sandwich. All of them were warm as if they just came out the oven and soft just like I like em'. The triple chocolate is super rich. I could only eat half of it so be aware of that. Very little seating inside. Maybe 6 - 8 seats max. I guess they want you to get your order and get outta there which is understandable being that it's located right where the college is. When I went (late at night) there was plenty of street parking that was free but I can imagine it's probably pretty crazy during the day. Good thing is there are a few parking garages nearby. Enter ice cream and cookies at Insomnia, a short walk away! Tiny little place and the other customers were obviously Tech students - whom I can only assume are a big part of their business! Everyone else should be too. My choice was pretty basic (note- they were out of 1/3 of their small selection of ice cream flavors, which I thought was odd at about 8pm given their hours...) - chocolate over a sugar cookie. Yum. The cookie was just warm and soft enough, and the ice cream was just rich enough. He got the cookies & cream over Snickerdoodle and was just as happy. They actually deliver, which is a bad thing given my Lent commitment and being in their delivery area....but I look forward to 40ish days from now when I can give Insomnia's services a try! read more

I never write these but the customer service and the cookies are so amazing I just felt like I had to. I've been ordering since they opened and they are always precise, friendly, fast, and they never get lost! My cookies are always warm upon arrival. During COVID the contactless delivery has been superb. The in person experience is also wonderful - they have great employees and it is such a joy to order from them. This was definite HELL NO experience for me. Stopped by on June 13th at about 9pm. Stood in line for about half an hour. Finally made it in. I was excited. I had checked out the menu online and KNEW what I wanted. May I have a salted caramel cookie? Oh we're out of those. Oh! OK! May I have a snickerdoodle. Hmm, we're out of those too unfortunately. If you want ice cream and cookies, you've come to an okay place. But I think you're better off just going to the supermarket and buying the items there instead. The location is in midtown Atlanta so unless you're already in the area and walked there, it's a nightmare! Prices were a tad high for the size of cookies and small ice cream given. And there was not a lot of seating. There was maybe 6 indoor chairs and no outside seating. The experience inside was a little strange. My friends and I were eating our desserts and a man walked in and the cashier just started yelling at him to get out. She screamed at him stating "you don't have money, so leave". It went on for about 5 minutes. I felt uneasy and my group ate our food quickly and just left. There was nothing out of the ordinary about the flavors or the ice cream. My standard for cookie greatness is whether or not I want the recipe after I taste it. *Maury voice* In the case of Insomnia Cookies...I'm good. The cookies I tried were not as good as it gets or even fan-worthy. I bookmarked this shop dreaming of a Cookie Monster moment: me with 5-6 cookies in my mouth and crumbs flying everywhere. I went with one traditional flavor (M&M) and one deluxe (s'mores). Both were soft and warm from the oven but it felt like their meltiness was compensating for flavor shortcomings. In short, I don't see myself craving these cookies. However, I'll admit that the melty cookies and frosty birthday cake ice cream was an enjoyable combo. I didn't realize they had ice cream until I got there but they had several flavors including strawberry, cookie dough and butter pecan. They are one of the only cookie shops in Atlanta that also sells ice cream so that's a plus. Ultimately, I think Insomnia Cookies will appeal to people who live/work in the delivery area, don't bake or need a quick sweets fix. Insomnia's standout characteristic is the warm delivery. Warm cookies delivered to YOU. They come in a cardbox box and will likely be warm when they arrive. When you buy them in store, they are warm in the paper sleeve. These are soft-baked cookies, not crunchy, so if you're not into soft cookies, these are not for you. And like all these new-fangled places, these cookies are pricey - 1 traditional cookie is $1.60. And it's not a huge, size of your face cookie, it's a regular-sized cookie. (insert heart emoticons here) Parking gets a 1 but that's not Insomnia's control. Best bet, have somebody circle the area while you run in for cookies or have them delivered. Yes, you can get cookies delivered for a small fee. Inside I give it a 4. There are chairs and tables so you can enjoy your cookies inside but the atmosphere does not appear inviting. Bar stool-like chairs, basic tables.....nothing to brag about. It is warm inside which is a nice factor considering it was freezing outside when I went. I haven't been this excited about anything in an extremely long time. This hidden gem caught my attention one day when I was grocery shopping at Publix (it's located across the street.) Cookie delivery until 3am? What's not to love!?! I cooked an enormous Sunday dinner for my boyfriend and I last night, and let's face it, I didn't have the energy to make dessert as well, so I decided to try out Insomnia. One of the very few times I do not care about parking. I also know for fact that if I were a GT student who lived in the Univ Housing (the building Insomnia is attached to) - I would gain at least 20 lbs. No lie. Parking - there is street metered parking. I would uber here or carpool. OR park at the Publix Deck and walk on over. It doesn't matter - the cookies are worth it here. Space - More of a pick up and go. Same design as the one in Athens. They have an awkward table against the window with a few chairs. Service - It's run by college students, haha. So... I guess it's good. Hands on my favorite place to get a Chocolate Chip Cookie Ice cream. :D The cookies are so soft & full of chocolate chips. Reminds of my own cookies I make every year but better. They have several kinds of cookies, but Chocolate Chip is the best. For ice cream, I think they have like 6 choices, but I go for Chocolate ice cream or the Moose Tracks. Can't go wrong!! This store is nestled next to Taco Bell and Twisted Kitchen and across the street from Publix near Tech square. The store is really small so if you blink you might just miss it. This was mine and my fiancée's 2nd time here. The last time we came they got our order wrong so I wasn't able to try the snicker doodle cookie. This time around we got the 6 pack box of traditional cookies for $9.99 with tax. The traditional cookies are $1.65 each. The snicker doodles were fabulous. Cooked to perfection with just the right amount of cinnamon and not to sweet. My fiancée enjoyed the macadamia nut cookies but I thought they weren't anything special. I've had better at subway. We also tried the oatmeal raisin and the m&m cookies. We were not impressed with either. The oatmeal raisin had way to many raisins and not enough cookie ( McDonald is better and only $1 for 2 cookies). The m&m cookie had wayyyyy to much chocolate. It was overwhelming. Overall, I would only go back for the snicker doodles. Everything else was just kind of blah. Nothing too exciting. It was fun to change up and try some new cookies though. read more

We ventured out into the cold for these and were not disappointed by taste at all! :) The store was pretty busy and most people seemed familiar with Insomnia. It was our first time. Not only was the cashier not helpful in answering our questions, we also paid $20+ for a box of mismatched cookies that included about 11 oatmeal raisin cookies...... come on. I get it, we took too long to order, but that was pretty disappointing! The reason we took so long to order is because we were trying to get an equal assortment of the flavors we wanted to try! We'll likely be back because the warm cookies we ate on the ride home were absolutely delicious, but we certainly won't be in a hurry or bring high expectations for warm service. read more

Visited Insomnia Cookie on a late night, sweet tooth craving mission. I heard great things about Insomnia Cookie's, mostly from college friends, which peaked my interest. Similar to a mainstream pizza joint, a small counter, a couple of cookies on display, the ice cream tubs to the right of the register, and a small look into the kitchen. To the left of the counter was menu. The menu contained prices of individual cookies and combinations. I chose three cookies we made our purchase and headed out. * Must I give a disclaimer... the cookies never made it to there photo-op. Sorry! *Snickerdoodle Honestly my favorite. Let's just start there. The cookie wasn't overly sweet or hard. The cookie was nice and soft. Pretty much a great snickerdoodle. *M&M The M&M cookie wasn't anything spectacular. A basic vanilla based cookie sprinkled with M&Ms. *Chocolate Chunk The Chocolate Chunk Cookie has the same vanilla based cookie, mixed with chocolate chunks. I you are a fan of chocolate chip cookies this may be the one for you. The chocolate pieces are gooey and soft even after they have cooled. Overall this restaurant deserves a C+. The idea of late night cookies is wonderful, the snickerdoodle cookies were my favorite from the three I chose, and they deliver! Pitfalls, the cookies were good, but in my opinion they are overpriced for basic cookies. read more

This cookie place clearly caters to all the Tech students here - it is even embedded in a building where a lot of students live at. Otherwise it's a pain to park at this area, and I don't see anyone making a special trip just for these. The cookies are decent and chewy, but nothing to write home about. This location is terrible. As a surprise, my friend from NY ordered me cookies for pick up. She calls and verifies they do curbside because they don't offer delivery. She forwards me the emails and text confirmation. They sent a text specifying to call a certain number once you arrive at the location and someone will bring the cookies outside. Well when I arrive I call the number and I'm on hold for a while. When someone finally picks up I give the person all my info and she's apparently about to bring my order outside but then she comes back on the phone and says they no longer offer curb side pick up. Ummmm, ok. I've been outside that whole time on hold. Meanwhile the line is getting longer and longer. They're only allowing 2 people in at a time which I totally understand but if I had known there was no curbside pick up I would have been in line when I first arrived. This location is trash and so is their customer service. IF YOU NO LONGER OFFER CURBSIDE PICK UP THEN DON'T SEND TEXT MESSAGES TO YOUR CUSTOMERS AS AN OPTION before and after the order is placed. What a waste of time. This is my first experience with this company and let me tell you it has left a bad taste in my mouth. However, my most recent visit lent me a mild digestive upset (not sure if the cookies were not fully baked, or what). I'm sure it's a fluke, but a definite bummer. I also walked in and was the only customer but for some reason they were unable to take care of my order? It wasn't until I had my card out it seemed they were able to get off the register and take care of me. Not a huge deal, but definitely mildly frustrating.
