A quick trip on my lunch break around the area lead me to a familiar place especially back home. When you get those cravings of something sweet, no matter what time of the day, one place fits that perfectly and that is Insomnia Cookie. I was persuaded to stop in with one of my clinical colleague stopped in on our lunch break next to Upstate Hospital. I went with a 6 box of the good stuff: 2 triple chocolate, 2 walnut chocolate chip, 1 blondie and 1 brookie. It's pretty self explanatory, soft baked, melty chocolate, and definitely not good for me but so delicious haha Overall I enjoyed the visit to Insomnia cookie. I never been disappointed on my visit especially back home in Texas. I only had 2 because I'd be insane to have it all in one go. But you can't beat the sweets. But one thing to note is the premium items are baked in smaller batches. If you want a good amount of it, I was told to special order it ahead of time. Tried to place an order to send to a student during finals. The iPad interface kept popping the delivery time back to "As soon as possible" even though I wanted to deliver them later that night. Ultimately, the order went through "as soon as possible" and very soon a nasty driver was calling the student, who was not home, to let him in with the delivery. He yelled at the student - not great for a 'finals stress reliever.' Phone customer service promised a redelivery at the correct time, but it never happened. Got a refund. Work on your interface and more important work on your service. read more

A friend of mine just got back from studying overseas and I thought that he'd really like a dozen cookies as a welcome back surprise. Thing is, I was pretty sure he wasn't going to eat a dozen cookies by himself so I had to make the noble sacrifice of sharing the cookies with him. ;) The Grub -- * Assorted Dozen Cookies ($12) - Chocolate Chunk, Sugar, Snickerdoodle, White Chocolate Macadamia Nut, Double Chocolate Chunk, M&M, Oatmeal Raisin, Peanut Butter Venue Review -- Insomnia Cookies is a pick-up-and-go kind of place with four small tables and stools for the weary college student. Then again, lots of drunk patrons drop in late at night and have the best cookies of their lives in there while slumped against a wall. Who needs chairs? Food Review -- Being the only option for cookies in Collegetown doesn't make Insomnia Cookies skimp on their quality. Every cookie tastes like it was stolen from God's own baking pans. Yes, that's a bit of an exaggeration, and I have had better cookies, but for a middle of nowhere school like Cornell, they're pretty great. My favorites would have to be the White Chocolate Macadamia Nut and their S'mores Deluxe Cookie. Haven't tried their ice cream, but the brownies have been consistently gooey and moist. Service Review -- Most of the people working here are very young or even students. They're pretty cheerful and genuinely enjoy what they're doing. Service is minimal, you tell them what you want, they scoop out the ice cream, lay out some cookies, etc. and you're on your merry way. Overall Impression -- Insomnia Cookies is great for a late night snack and is open until past midnight...every night, so if you're looking for a late night indulgence you've come to the right spot. The reason I give Insomnia Cookies a 3-Star rating is twofold. First, service is not always their most redeeming quality. Since they're students or locals, they spend more time socializing with each other than trying to give the best service to their guest...and second, these are some pretty EXORBITANTLY priced cookies. Extremely disappointed with the delivery service. I really want to like this place and give it a better review. However, the service definitely has room for improvement. Unfortunately, my girls night was ruined due to a series of service failures performed by this establishment. I ordered my simple cookie order of six cookies around 9pm. The full order was not completed until 12:10am. The service failure started when my friends and I had waited nearly fifty minutes to receive our cookies. Finding this unusual, I decided to call Insomnia Cookies to receive a status update. After waiting close to 15 minutes for someone to answer the phone, we were told that they had not been assigned to a driver yet but would be out soon. The second service failure came along when we had asked for the driver to deliver our cookies to our lobby area. The driver instead texted us to walk about seven minutes away from our location because he "did not know which building we were in. So, after walking through the heavy snow, all while our driver was sitting in his warm car, we finally found the driver. You would think everything ends there right? Turns out once coming back to our house that some of the cookies were actually missing. This meant that we had to call insomnia again, wait 15 minutes again, inform the telephone operator that our driver was not assisting whatsoever, and wait all over again for our cookies to be delivered. We were assured that our driver would be more accommodating and would have the missing cookies to us soon. The driver still texted us saying that we should "try and meet him halfway" and made us walk all the way in the snow, only to leave our "cold" cookies on a ledge outside our house once we reached the destination we agreed to meet at. I usually only write reviews of excellent service or horrendous service, and unfortunately, as a hospitality major student, I can confidently say that this was a big service failure that could have been resolved in a much different way. Like I said, I want to like this place, but in order for that to happen there needs to be changes in the delivery process and service recovery of Insomnia Cookies. read more

We received no call or text letting us know our order had been delivered. It was my mom's birthday and wanted to get something edible but a bit different from the norm (the norm being Shari's Berries). Insomnia Cookies was the first business that popped up. Now, I have patronized their business in person in the past and never had an issue with their product, so I decided to order a 24 assortment gift box to be delivered to her home. She has never experienced IC before and thought she would enjoy it. After a few days of the gift box being delivered, I hadn't heard from my mom regarding it. She's usually on the ball with thanking me and giving her opinion, so I messaged her. She responded that she received them, said they were delicious but there were "little nitty ants in the box" (the cookies were individually wrapped so that didn't affect her consuming them). I told her that I'd contact IC regarding the matter and get back to her. Long, boring review-story short, it's been over a week and have never heard a response from IC. Not an, "I'm sorry", "We apologize for the inconvenience" or "F-you, sucker!". I'm giving this 2 stars because I still enjoy their cookies in person. I originally ordered these cookies for my sister's birthday, and I was told that they would be arriving within 20-30 minutes. Lo and Behold, my sister was out there in the cold weather for an hour waiting for these cookies. Not once, were either of us notified that their driver had not shown up and that the delivery would be delayed. We only found out after calling multiple times. I am extremely disappointed by the customer service. I heard that these cookies are one of the best out there, and unfortunately, this incident has proven otherwise. This is a fat and drunk kid's wet dream. Insomnia Cookies, as the name implies, stays up late and serves deliciously fresh-baked cookies. The formula is perfect for Collegetown and perfect in practice: it's exactly what you need when you find yourself a bit tipsy at 3 AM desperately looking for sweet food. Delicious cookies. No, they're not homemade (who has time for that anyways) but they're still great! I recommend getting your cookies in-store, so they're fresh and warm. Only giving 4 stars because the deliveries take a while and by the time your cookies arrive they're room temp. An easy fix is 20 sec in the microwave. I would 100% recommend getting delivery rather than eating in unless you only want one cookie. This is a chain, which probably has already made cookie dough frozen and then put onto sheets. So, with that said, I like the cookies. Desserts always taste amazing and are always what they should be. My order is always accurate. Some days it will take 20 minutes and others it will take over 3 hours. I kept being told my order was the next out, just waiting for the driver, it'll be the next out. I was told that 3 times. And 3 hours later, still no cookies. They sent me two separate coupon codes for free cookies for future orders, which they're always really good about when they run slow. But they could have just been honest and said it was going to be a couple hours instead of keeping us all awake waiting. We all have to work in the morning. Overall, insomnia is a really awesome I service to have here. Delivery time is always just hit or miss though. UPDATE: 5 hours later, still no cookies. The cookie tracker says it was already delivered. I called to cancel the order and the woman in customer service couldn't even get ahold of anyone at the Ithaca location. Insomnia Cookies are way too buttery and sugary except for a few cookie flavors, but the main complaint is their customer service and delivery policies. Friends and I have had multiple deliveries either not show up or they arrive 2-3 hours after placing the order (often meaning you get your cookies at 2 or 3am), with no apology or show of effort. I'm not sure what takes so long to deliver a box of reheated cookies to addresses no more than a 10 minute drive away. If you ever do have a complaint, you can't contact the local store and must instead call their general franchise number. Until they get their delivery issues sorted out, I'd avoid ordering from them. read more

I ordered a six-pack cookie box at 9:30 and did not receive them till two hours after the fact. I had to call the company twice asking if they were still coming and I was told I had to give them a extra 30 minutes from when I called at 11:30 to make sure they get here (mind you I live ten minutes away). The driver had only a quarter in change on him so I had to scramble amongst my roommates to find 13 dollars exact because he couldn't accept a twenty.
