I ordered a box of six cookies for pick up last night. First off, it is great how the whole concept of Insomnia is that they stay open late. I was really craving something sweet and I wanted to share with my friends so I knew this would be the spot to cure the cravings! I ordered brown toffee butter, cookies n cream, chocolate chunk, and snickerdoodle, which are their classic cookies. I also ordered their confetti and salted caramel which are their deluxe cookies. They were all delicious as usual. The deluxe cookies are more expensive but they are double the size of their classic cookies. My favorite was the salted caramel, it's a must-try. The spot is small, but that doesn't matter much because people usually order to take home. The woman working was very kind and efficient. My order was ready on time and I had no problem getting it. This location is awesome and you should definitely try Insomnia out if you haven't already! read more

I decided to try Insomnia cookies for dessert after having lunch near by. The smell that hits you when you walk in, lickable air!!! It's hard to resist. I checked out their ice cream options, they have about 6 different flavors. This time around, I opted for a snickerdoodle. I was surprised when I got it, that it was soft and warm. I was a very delicious cookie. So good, the following week, the hubs and I ate lunch near by and I told him he had to stop in. This time I ordered a MnM cookie and he ordered an ice cream sandwich. If you love fresh and warm baked cookies, this is the place for you. We recently went to visit Kent and stopped here and left completely happy. The store itself is situated in one of the strip of downtown Kent--one of the cutest places in the area. It is very small and not a place that you can eat in or anything. The goal is for you to go here, order some fresh from the over cookies, and then leave very happy. We accomplished this and then some. Insomniac cookies are so good and taste like my homemade ones. The chocolate chip are clearly a favorite, but please be sure to try the sugar, the oatmeal, and the chocolate chocolate chip. In addition, they have some of the best brownies around--deep and dense and super chocolatey. We ended up leaving with one dozen and then some. The prices are very reasonable and competitive with that of any grocery store or bakery that does their own home baked cookies. The staff there consists of one or two people behind the small counter and usually this is a young college student. I guess if you are a person who lives in the area, they also deliver and at all times of the evening--bonus and sorry we don't' live closer. Great little place if you are in Kent. read more

I live in a college town. Most of the businesses here are run by college students, so understandably I don't always expect to receive the best quality of service. I don't really write poor reviews on this site, but I was very disappointed with my last Insomnias visit. The entire store is extremely small, so it gets crowded very easily. When I walked in the business there was no form of a line, which made ordering somewhat confusing. When I finally was able to make it to the counter, the store was out of over half of the cookies that they normally have to offer. The employees were also very disinterested and somewhat rude, and didn't really seem to care about the chaos that was ongoing. All I wanted was a snickerdoodle cookie, but I had to settle for a chocolate chip. Even though I like chocolate chip cookies, it wasn't what I originally intended to purchase. I'll think twice about visiting insomnias next time I'm in the mood for a cookie. read more

I have to wonder about the longevity prospects of a business whose primary function is delivering cookies at 3am but I have to say they do have some tasty cookies. A friend and I went here after dinner the other evening and I was quite pleased to find they had milk to go along with those cookies (and ice cream to those of you interested in a cookie sundae or sandwich combo!) I was a bit disappointed they were out of the S'more cookie and any milk other than whole at that time but this wasn't a big deal (they are fairly new) and the cashier was apologetic and extremely friendly. I ordered the triple chocolate (and a milk) and my friend got the peanut butter cup. The cookies were large and warm and mine was packed with gooey chocolate deliciousness. I have to say you'd be hard pressed to find a more delicious cookie for sale anywhere else (no one can compete with mom!) but you're going to need that milk for all the richness and a couple hand towels for the ooey gooey mess! I think they're fairly priced considering the "novelty" and this would be a nice place to grab a sweet snack. I was hopeful to give more stars, but was just disappointed with my experience. My wife and I stopped by for a couple cookies while walking around town. I was excited when she mentioned it was fresh out of the oven. While fresh, it was an absolute mess. I could in no way even hold it. I should have been given a spoon because it was SO soft and the chocolate completely melted, that it wasn't even manageable. I understand CoVid and the number of people allowed to be present per square footage. My family of five entered Insomnia Cookies and we were told due to capacity only two could come in so three of us exited. Being Insomnia Cookies was new to us they lost three orders because we had no idea what our options even were in the way of ordering. When my two family members exited a family of six entered and none of them were told to exit. There had been no changes in number of people present inside other than my two family members leaving as we were standing outside in the cold waiting. After having lunch at Barrio, I thought I would get a cookie for desert. I walked in, hardly anyone present and someone working (a manager? Feeding his face with a cookie) proceeded to tell me they were at capacity and I had to leave. Very disappointed I didn't get to try one of their cookies and not impressed with their professionalism. And most women find more pleasure from that cookie than they ever have or will have with any man. Especially if I am that man. I, on the other hand, always get the white chocolate macadamia nut, which is to die for. The cookies are always warm and soft and gooey and melty. They have milk and ice cream. I haven't had the ice cream, so I don't know if it's good, though I'm sure it is. They often have Superman ice cream, so they get points there. Regarding milk, milk is milk so I'm sure it's fine. They don't have a lot of seating, but that's fine. Since you just got a cookie meal from a cookie restaurant, you should probably start walking some of those calories off anyhow. I Wasn't impressed with this location at all. They were out of almost all of the cookies the night we went. The guy working told us the previous employee didn't leave him with anything, so he had to bake everything himself. He couldn't keep up. They had a small selection to choose from and none of their specialty cookies were available. My mother in law wanted one of the specialty cookies that were on display but he said it would be 20+ minutes. She decided on a brownie after that. It was dry and tasted a day or two old. My cookies were ooey and gooey and just came out of the oven. They were tasty but after we had been waiting for ten minutes he served two other girls that just walked in ahead of us. I have a $50 dollar bill and find out that they wont take my cash either. They recommend I go get something smaller and come back. Are you kidding! Delivery was slated for 8:30 PM Valentines day gift from girlfriend that she had ordered a week in advance, 9 pm still not there, drive down to find out and they tell me it would be another two and a half hours before someone could come deliver it. No phone call, just expecting me to wait two and a half hours, apparently it would be to much trouble to call them. Poorly managed poorly staffed. Will not be ordering from them again. read more
