Very few times in my life have I ever tried to talk to a brick wall. My experience with the worker at Insomnia Cookies earlier tonight was one of those times. The guy couldn't have been ruder. Not only did he mess up the order not once, not twice, but three times, he watched as we had to correct it by scooping the flavors into the same cup ourselves. Not only did he show zero remorse for the fact his ears weren't working properly, but he seemed completely disinterested in everything that wasn't awkwardly standing there staring at the wall. He was not in company attire, wearing a sweatshirt with food stains on it and a durag that was falling half off his head. I'm not even sure if he actually worked there to be honest. At the end of the day, It was disgusting to walk into an establishment 3 hours before they close and receive customer service that made me feel like my sworn enemy was serving me, yet it was a stranger. They tell you they only have one driver and it's "mad busy right now" as if this is an acceptable thing to tell a customer. Calling corporate proved to be just as effective. Sheniqua seemed understanding and was very polite, but then I was placed on a "brief" hold for 15 minutes. Next thing I know, I have Chantel on the line and I had to explain everything all over again. Only this time, the connection was horrible so I could hear my voice echoing and tons of strange background noise. I'm only now looking at customer photos and photos IG and was a little disappointed at how sloppily our cookies were literally thrown into the box. They were still warm (which is a +) but that also meant cookies melting together that should have been in separate boxes as we discussed. I don't mean to sound petty but sometimes it's just the little things. On a happier note, the cookies were really good (even the next day). Still soft and chewy the way I like. I had an Insomnia Cookies store right next to campus during college and they were amazing, so when the new one opened in Kelley Square I was super pumped to give it a try. I'm HUGELY disappointed. The cookies are ok, but not nearly as good as I expected, but overwhelmingly the worst part about my experience was the service. We waited 2.5 hours for our cookies to be delivered. The online wait time said 45-55 minutes, and the online tracking info was total garbage (it showed a map of Kentucky but I'm in Massachusetts???) so after an hour I called the "local" number only to find out I was being redirected to a customer service line. The woman I spoke to said the store was waiting on a driver for delivery. Another hour goes by and we call back, she puts us on hold and calls the store, then tells us the driver will be back in 5 minutes and we'll get our cookies after that. They finally showed up 30 minutes later, cold and hard. I will not be ordering here again. The cookies were much better back in college (could be my memory making them better, but still) and were always delivered WARM which is part of Insomnia's advertising. I was expecting these cookies to be a tad bigger considering the price. We ordered a 6 pack along with two small ice creams. Cookies were on the smaller end for the price, the ice cream I haven't tried yet as I have to wait for it to re harden after melting on the 5 minutes drive over. Overall would I order again? Insomnia Cookies is new to Kelley Square, they just opened this week. Even just walking in the store, it's a treat. It smells absolutely delicious in there. It's a bit bare on environment, just a small ramp leading up to the counter with the menu posted on the wall to the right,but it's spotless. It's a small store, no seating, designed for take-out and delivery only. $3.75 got 2 cookies, roughly palm-sized, which is about what I expected. Decent variety of all the old favorites - chocolate chunk, M&Ms, snickerdoodle, peanut butter chip, oatmeal raisin, and so on. The display made every one of them look good - there were also a couple cookie cakes under the glass, and a chocolate chunk brownie. The cookies were WARM. Like, falling-apart-just-pulled-off-the-tray. And it was good; we're talking eyes closed having a moment good. A bit messy, but 100% worth it. I live close enough to not need the delivery they offer, but the range seems fair considering the area. They have a good location, next to Wings Over Worcester and a few bars. Parking is street only and in a busy area - no problems on a Wednesday morning, but I wouldn't want the hassle of finding a spot after work. read more

Last time we ordered from Insomnia on Kelly square, we caught the kid stealing my boyfriends hub caps off of his car before giving us our cookies, he then left before the cops could get there so he got away with it... and today when we just had our cookies delivered, they tasted like marijuana. There was a line this evening around 11pm and that was perfect because we ordered wings next door which always takes a long while so we didn't mind a wait with our noses occupied. The lovely scent of freshly baked cookies that filled the little shop kept us on our feet! 12 cookies to choose from, 3 deluxe options, a variety of ice cream flavors plus toppings for your custom ice cream sandwich. We got a box of 12 trying out, Chocolate Chunk, Double Chocolate Chunk, Double Chocolate Mint, and White Chocolate Macadamia. We were told they couldn't serve the Chocolate Chunk (choc chip) because they were burning hot so they told us to wait for it to cool down, and so that was our obvious choice to try out first. Oh boy... They truly are amazing, scrumptious, warm, delicate, buttery, heavenly cookies! Our eyes beaming with delight as soon as we taste them and even watching it rip apart to split was mouthwatering. They're thin and melt easily but that's all the better! The best thing about the cookies is that even when they have cooled down and hardened, you just pop them into the microwave for 20 seconds and they are just as good as when you first got them! The person taking the orders and the money is also filling the orders. People bumping into each other and not all the cookies were available.
