First of all, I appreciated how quick and easy it was to get the inspection appointment set up with Gadget Home Inspections. During the actual inspection I was amazed at how thorough Jeff was. (I even shared our results with many family members, and everyone also commented how thorough of a job he did!) Then during the walk-through towards the end of the inspection he answered all my questions with no hesitation. I know nothing about home repairs or what causes certain things, so I just wanted to have a better understanding of the things he was recommending. I felt like I was a nuisance with all my questions but he was so knowledgeable and patient with me. I truly appreciated it! After the inspection he sent us an electronic version of our report. It was nice to have a picture and notes with all of his recommendations. Also, there's a feature in the report that you can easily create a Request List of all the recommendations that you'd like to bring forward. It made things so easy for us! I asked the…read moreinspector specifically before he arrived (I could not be there due to Covid-19) to check a bank of lights on the ceiling of the garage that wasn't working. I asked if the power was not working or the light bulbs were burned out. He told me after the inspection that there was power to it so I assumed they worked. Well, when I put in new light bulbs after buying the house it didn't work. The bank of lights doesn't work and it will cost me several hundred dollars to repair. Had I been told of the issue that I specifically asked about, the fixing cost could have been negotiated into the sale. There were other issues with the inspection but when you specifically ask if something works and are given wrong information that is unfortunate. When I asked the inspector about it after the fact, he said he didn't have a light bulb (there were light bulbs working on the other bank of lights). He did come to the house to look at it again after the fact but offered no explanation on why it didn't work and said he couldn't move a light bulb during the inspection (but he should have come prepared since I told him what the issue was beforehand). I credit him for at least coming back over. But after I paid, he had often not returned messages and was going to have something done for me related to the inspection report but never did. My advice would be to look elsewhere for an inspector. Sure, inspectors miss things but when you specifically bring up something for an inspector to check and are given wrong information, that's not acceptable.

Two main reasons for this: 1) transparency and trust, and 2) a differentiator in the market. We have taken immaculate care of our home and were happy to have a third party inspector say so. Additionally, we knew we would be listing during a busy spring with lots of inventory, so having the inspection report in hand when we went live was a huge differentiator. Chris was amazing through this whole process. Super communicative, punctual, and professional. Chris and I are both veterans, so I trust his integrity and attention to detail on how he approaches his work. He arrived right on time, explained his process with a quick walkthrough of the home, left him to do his thing. The inspection took a few hours and when he was complete, he walked us through the highlights of his work. The majority of our home had no issues. He found a few things that he noted in his report and we discussed those in detail. It's critical to understand that inspectors review homes based on International Residential Code (IRC) and not local building code. Some things that are "deficiencies" in IRC may be allowed by local building code. He was super thorough and walked us through his findings and the impact it could have for occupants. His report was very comprehensive and supported by measurements, pictures, and recommendations. Overall, very satisfied with the process and report. I would trust Trailblazer Home Inspections with any future home inspection needs and am so glad we did it prior to listing our home. We came under contract to sell our home 4 days after listing and I'm convinced that having our inspection upfront played heavily in the buyer's decision!

Also told them of the wall outlet that doesn't work and the person I talked to said he would look at it while he was here. Well, another worker showed up, didn't know anything about the outlet and it took 4 hours to replace the tile. I didn't check the tile until after the worker left as they had been often I figured they could at least get the color right. I cannot express enough how difficult it has been to work with thia company and would not recommend them to anyone.
