I do not recommend this organization…read more If you do opt to go with Tecce, and I expect this is true of all inspectors through Building Inspectors of America, read the contract very carefully. There are very severe limitations of liability. Also, be aware that in some/many cases you are likely getting someone who knows one thing well (in the case of Tecce, it appears it was roofs), but only marginal knowledge of other equally expensive systems and defects that can cost you tens of thousands of dollars when purchasing a new home without full disclosure from the homeowners (which IS a thing, apparently. And EXACTLY why you need competent professionals representing your interests!). Better to invest in the services of an inspector who is trained in engineering and has knowledge and experience that is both broad and deep on home issues, bc what they don't know will cost you! Wish I knew then what I know now. IN TERMS of "pros" response: he came to our home, noted that he obviously missed things that no doubt would have lead us to ask more questions. His service were a massive FAIL. He's not sorry and he won't be sorry when he pockets your money and blames others for his lack of skill and professionalism. Trust me; find another option or prepare to pay for what he 1) doesn't know and 2) doesn't own up to. Ultimately a lack of integrity punctuating a lack of skill.
