Inspection Tech and Dan Malcolm were recommended to me through my realtor. I give them a glowing recommendation. First, Dan was on time and friendly. He explained exactly what he was going to do and how he was going to do it. Second, he created a report on his tablet and showed me pictures associated with any issues as well as recommendations on how to fix any issues. Finally, he sent the report to me within a few hours of my leaving. When I set up my appointment, I spoke with the office staff and advised that I thought I needed a separate pest inspection due to the fact that I was taking out an FHA loan. They went ahead and charged me the for the basic inspection plus a $100 pest inspection based on what I said my needs were. After finishing his inspection, Dan advised that a general pest inspection is part of his work anyway, and he would have his office refund the extra $100 since there was no sign of any pest issues. He could have easily kept that extra money, and I would have been none the wiser. I think it shows the content of character of Dan and the company that he was willing to offer that refund. read more

I would not recommend. I got the inspection report back on my home. It is filled with errors. The house is 13 years old yet report says roof is 15-20 years old. How is that possible? Report says screens were missing. They aren't, they are in the closets and basement. Also said smoke detectors were missing. They aren't, all in place where installed by builder to code. They are all hard wired together so if you took one out they would all go off. The inspector seemed nice enough but I seriously question competence. He said front sidewalk was concrete but it isn't, it's pavers. He said patio was pavers, but it isn't, it's stamped concrete. Tonight I discovered my front lights were turned off and not working because they have electric eye to come on automatically at night. Also he unplugged my landscape lighting timer and transformer and left the plug laying on the ground. Why??? Tonight I had to go out in dark and plug it back in and reset the timer due to inspector not knowing what he was doing. Before I left for him to do the inspection I said if you have any questions or aren't sure how something works please call and ask. Never got a call but wrote up lots of incorrect information. I would definitely not use this company. I used A-Pro for the inspection on home I'm buying and I had a much better experience. I guess the buyers are getting what they've paid for, poor quality. read more

Do not use this company. They missed visible knob and tube wiring in my basement and even confirmed in writing that there was none present when I double checked with them. This cost me a lot of money and time to fix. I confronted the company and received pretty awful customer service. No refund, no apology. They told me I should've known buying an investment property was risky. If you want an accurate inspection, do not choose this company. It will be much less "risky"! read more

Don't use this company. They missed several items on my inspection that cost me thousands of dollars. Dan offered a refund but thanks to their horrible work I am out much more money than the inspection fee. They missed a leaking roof and the fact that the heater was shot and their excuse was that it was summer so the roof was dry and it was too hot to run the heater. read more

If I could give zero I would. Very disappointed in this business and the lack of inspection they did on our house. We ended up having to have our whole roof replaced because of rotting and that was never listed anywhere on our paperwork. Our roofer said he was hesitant to stand on the roof because of how damaged it was. When we spoke with the inspector and asked why this was never mentioned in our report or put on the major concerns list he said, "We don't usually list major concerns on the major concerns list because it stops people from buying a house." Isn't that why you hire an inspector?! Extremely disappointed because we would have negotiated the price of the house based on the roof needing to be a complete tear off. read more

We recently purchased a home after 40 years of living in our past house and were advised to get a home inspection done on the property. We hired this company thinking that we were going to get a thorough inspection of our property. All this company does is visually inspect the roof, foundation, plumbing, electrical, and appliances. The inspector told us, after the hire, that he couldn't inspect the roof because of the grade of our backyard and he couldn't see it from the ground. Also air conditioning unit could not be inspected unless it was 72 degrees out--after the fact of the hire. They virtually just turn on faucets and see if the water runs hot or cold and visually see if there are any leaks and just check if your thermostats Run. It is just that -- a visual inspection. Any individual can do these simplistic tasks. Since we moved in 3 weeks ago we have had to buy a whole house air conditioner, replace a breaker in the fuse box and our dishwasher flooded our kitchen from a rotted hose. All we got from them is that they ran the dishwasher and it worked. They don't check connections or hoses. Lesson learned. --your money would be better spent to hire an electrician, roofer, and plumber to come out and inspect your home read more

As the person who had there house inspected we learned a valuable lesson. Never let an inspection in your house unless you are there to inspect what they do. We have an electrostatic furnace filter that they did not follow the proper procedure to remove the filter. They pulled a wire out and thank goodness they did not pull the other wire otherwise they would have ruined our furnace. They turned off the April air and humidifier. They were incorrect on the GFCI plug for the master bath. The picture of our upper railing on our front porch showed the bow in it that was there when we left but someone pulled on it and caused damage. They did other damage that we can not prove. They did discover that the electrical plugs in the garage were not grounded correctly but we have been using them without difficulty for 20 years. I think they knew they messed up the furnace. A phone call would have been nice as we were out of state and on our way home and we could have had this looked at prior to our return home. What would have happened if they shorted out our furnace ? read more
