Having studied yoga on and off for a good 7 years, I've been through my fair share of teachers. Some I remember, some I don't. But one voice remains clear in my mind to this day, and that's Becky Klett's. Even now, having not seen her in years I still hear her reminding me to align my feet, rotate my hips and isometrically pull my legs together. Her unwavering focus on alignment and proper approach to difficult poses continues to help me in classes where other teachers fail to mention the dangers. This knowledge has kept me from ever physically hurting my body in a yoga class, and it's invaluable. I also like the light and unobtrusive spiritual touch that Becky brings to classes. Regardless of spiritual background, everyone would like to leave a yoga class feeling more centered, more calm, more focused. I always got that in her classes, and I always appreciated the effort she put into making a personal dedication to each class. While never needing them myself, I also saw her give appropriate adjustments for students with injuries or other physical issues. Yoga teachers abound these days; truly gifted ones are a rare gem. All of the instructors are great about letting you know and coming around if needed. I have been going now for a few years on and off. As my schedule has allowed me to come more I have, and notice a difference both physically and mentally. I am also Starting to try new classes and new instructors. You can always try a class and there are a variety of plans that can work for you.

The room we practiced in had a huge open window with natural lighting, which made it very relaxing. I tried the Slow Flow class, and felt a release of anxiety and tension during and after. I don't want this to come off negative but I'm writing this review to give honest feedback. I purchased a class for my little sister and I to start her birthday off with a positive environment (she's new to the area). We are both familiar with pilates as we take classes weekly but I believe every instructor has their own style and this was our first time at this studio. We weren't welcomed by the instructor nor did she introduce herself to us which felt a bit awkward and unwelcoming. My confirmation email also said nothing about needing grip socks (the studio that I frequent doesn't require them as you can choose to be barefoot or use grip socks) so I wasn't prepared to spend additional money to purchase their socks on top of our class fee. There were certain movements that we didn't quite catch on to as fast as the instructor was telling us to move and it didn't seem like she cared to take the time to explain anything, repeat anything, or encourage us. The instructor very much so focused on about three of the other ladies in the class and talked with them throughout the class. It wasn't until I finally just sat on my reformer until one of the sequences was through that the instructor came over and asked if I wanted a modification and by then it was the end of the class and we felt very unwelcome and uncomfortable. I'm pretty dissatisfied with the service and I really wish I would've spent my money elsewhere for my sisters birthday. It's a cute place but to feel unwelcome because we aren't regulars felt really wrong to us. I don't know that we will be back.

In 2021, I underwent shoulder surgery on both shoulders--one in February and the second in July. I…read moreintentionally scheduled both surgeries within the same calendar year so my insurance deductible and annual out-of-pocket maximum would be met once. I explained my strategy to S2S at the 1st therapy appointment. They said this will not be an issue, and they dealt with similar situations all the time. Everything proceeded without issue until about October 2021. When I checked in for my appointment, I was told I owed a copay, despite my out-of-pocket maximum having already been satisfied. I immediately raised the concern, questioned why I owed this charge, but paid it anyway. I explained my strategy to S2S again, and said that I will not pay any out of pocket expense during 2021, and that we should cancel any future appointments until this was resolved. I was told it must be an error on BCBS's end, and they would get it taken care of, and that I needed the therapy, so please continue my scheduled appointments. They told me at my next appointment that BCBS said I had exceeded my maximum allowed sessions for the year, but not to worry. They would get another prescription from my Surgeon for additional therapy, and I would not be charged anything. I suggested cancelling that appointment until they received the prescription, and BCBS had approved it. They assured me that I would not be charged anything, and they were 100% confident they would handle it. Based on these clear and repeated assurances, I continued treatment in good faith. At no point during my visits was I informed of an outstanding balance, provided documentation of charges, or told payment would be required. After a few more visits, when checking in, I asked for an update. I was told that I had a balance, and that they had been adding charges every time I came. I was very upset, reminded them of our many conversations about this, & cancelled that appointment, and any future appointments. They kept pressuring me to continue my therapy. I told them that if & when they get these charges removed and provided me with written assurance that I owed nothing, then I would return. I never heard anything from S2S until several months later. I was contacted by their accounting department and informed that I had a balance of nearly $700. I again explained the prior assurances made by management. I was told the matter would be reviewed and that I would be contacted if there was an issue. I never heard anything else from S2S, until more than a year of no communication. It was their accounting department asking if I contact BCBS and appeal their case and try to get BCBS to agree to pay the balance. I agreed to help, and spent almost 4 hours working directly with my insurance provider trying to appeal the charges, but was unsuccessful. I promptly relayed this information to S2S. They thanked me for trying and hung up. I assumed that was the end of it. Nearly four years after treatment, I was contacted by Meredith Tittle (the owner) offering me a payment plan, despite the prior assurances that these charges would never be my responsibility. I informed Meredith (in detail) about every conversation I had with her people. Soon thereafter, the account was sent to collections and reported to the credit bureaus, but the new amount is over $1,000. This dispute is not about ability to pay--it is about reliance on repeated representations made by staff who stated they had authority and assured me I would not be charged. Those assurances were the sole reason I continued treatment. My advice to others is simple: do not rely on verbal assurances from S2S regarding billing or insurance coverage--get everything in writing.

I've never stayed this committed to a workout regimen this long, and that's 100% because of how amazing this gym is. I've never once been intimidated, made to feel inferior, or pressured into doing a movement that might cause an injury. In my experience at The MVMT Lab: Every movement is modifiable. Every workout is achievable wherever you are in your fitness journey. The culture is inclusive, diverse, and wonderfully positive. We had a great chat and made sure to answer all of my questions fully and didn't make me feel rushed at all. My free intro class was coached by Chloe. She was very welcoming and so were the other members. Chloe did (and always does) a great job teaching each movement and proving effective cues all while keeping a fun and upbeat vibe! My husband and I have been members for 2 years now and it's safe to say it was the best decision we could have made. Not only did we find a great, safe, and fun place to workout, we have met some of our best friends which has made Denton feel like home faster than we could have ever expected. Jason and Molly have since moved the gym to a bigger and better location and as a member I feel super spoiled every time I walk in. The equipment is well maintained and there is plenty of space to workout without bumping into fellow athletes. They have adjusted SO well to accommodating new safety standards due to COVID-19. Each athlete is able to workout in a designated area safely spaced from others. They also added several new programs that can be done at home for those who still do not feel safe. Jason and Molly are constantly evaluating how they can add more value to their members and take feedback to heart.
