Poor customer service no one would help me with my inquiry and I tried multiple times

I would give 10 stars if that was an option. I take private training from Khristen and it's been a revelation how my 64 year old body has responded to Pilates. The studio is welcoming to all and provides both classes and private training. If you're looking for a judgement-free zone that provides fun and fitness, Twisted Bodies is your place. And, if you're an older person, as am I, Pilates could literally save your life if you fall or become incapacitated in any way. This has become my favorite place to work out. The instructors are so kind and knowledgeable. The prices are better than I was expecting for specialized classes (definitely recommend buying the packages for lower prices). I found a place to workout where there are all shapes, sizes, ages, and abilities. It's a place where everyone becomes family. We encourage each other and challenge each other not only in class but outside of the studio. I finally decided to get off my butt and try pole dance fitness a few weeks ago. I love it! Carissa is a great instructor and wants everyone to have fun too. Poling is the first workout in a yearssss that I want to keep up with and get better at doing. The studio is beautiful and clean, as well as easy to find. Parking is easy (front or back of the studio). Honestly, I wish my work schedule allowed for me to take more classes per week. Pole dance is already making positive changes to my body and level of fitness. Book your spot early to get the desired class. I'd been looking for a place to take classes for increased flexibility, strength and overall well-being. I've tried yoga/Pilates classes at the national gyms and franchise yoga/Pilates establishments. I've been taking Pilates reformer/mat and yoga classes regularly since joining in December and am feeling great with improved flexibility and strength. The owners, Carissa & Khristen are both high-level instructors and along with their talented team deliver their message of training you intelligently with personal attention in a very hospitable atmosphere. I took my first class in June. The first one was a little intimidating until I met the instructor and she put me at ease. I've taken classes from most of the instructors and they are all very good and help to ensure proper form and alignment, which I defiantly need. Each one is different and puts their own flare into the class, making it both fun and challenging. I have also found the students in the classes encouraging and helpful. It is a fun atmosphere and I'm glad to be part of it. There are so many classes and different types of exercises, I find myself working out everyday so I can try them all. Come join us! read more

Teacher training at TwistedBodies is unlike anywhere else. Before I even registered, Carissa took the time to sit down and talk with me about my goals, and give me reasonable career expectations. Each TT I've attended has included a functional anatomy emphasis, as well as anatomical terms and positions to accurate detail posture analyses and exercise positions. We cover special populations, and how to modify for just about anybody! Of course we also study the history of Pilates, so we can understand the root purpose of the exercises and why they're so important. Every training has gone step by step through the study materials, followed immediately by practicing the exercises and poses, and time for questions and workshopping. On the last day, we review the material to be tested on to make sure each student feels prepared and knows what might be left to study before a written exam. There are lots of opportunities for practice teaching in the courses themselves, and then afterwards with student teaching hours and shadow teaching. I've never learned anything in a teacher training that didn't help me at some point while teaching a group class or a private session, and each training I've walked away with at least one lesson plan ready to go already. After training, it's really only the beginning though. Carissa & Khristen are basically always available for questions about teaching techniques, anatomy, reviewing exercises- or anything movement based I can come up with! They always have very thoughtful answers and recommendations for further self-study. I've also asked countless business-related questions that they've been a trustworthy source for. They cultivate an environment of humility and learning within their studio, so you always feel welcome to ask other instructors about their experiences as well. If it weren't for TwistedBodies, I doubt I'd be a Yoga & Pilates instructor at all- let alone be building my career in this field. I don't think I'd even know it was possible. read more

So many great people with a desire to help you become your best human! I can't tell you how grateful Kristen came into my life. She has expertly guided me in the recovery of multiple surgeries and now we are getting me back into shape to ride my horses again. She doesn't have the word "I can't " in her vocabulary. Finding a well educated Pilates instructor, was my number one priority and all the ladies at Twisted Bodies have a very diversified education on the body and how to get it to be it's best. Don't walk, run to the phone and schedule a private session first, to figure out what you need. They explain everything and are super fun. read more

Advice for prospective Twisted Bodies clients: read the fine print, request a copy of your agreement and waiver and review it often, and make sure to do a trial month before signing up for good to see if it's a good fit for you. I generally don't write reviews, just for experiences that were especially bad or good. I had a terrible experience at this studio, at the end. When I started, they were well-informed of some minor health problems I had and were told that exercise was part of my treatment. For some reason, when a diagnosis was confirmed, they told me that I needed a doctor's note to return-- a policy no one had ever spoken of until that moment. Not only is that inconsistent practice, to not require a note at the beginning but bar someone from the studio after a confirmation, it's frustrating to have been very up front about the testing process and have them inform me after I got my diagnosis that I couldn't come back until I got the note-- after I'd already left the doctor's office, when getting a note would have been easy. When I had trouble procuring it, they took a week to get back to me. After I decided to not return to the studio from the trouble, I asked about getting a partial refund. I didn't necessarily expect a refund for the partial month I hadn't used, but I had hoped for a partial refund for the six or so unused private sessions I had already paid for, which totals roughly $150, all of which they refused to refund. The problem wasn't their pseudo-concern for my "serious health problems" or their lack of communication about their surprise note policy, it was their awful customer service, ridiculous lags in time getting back to me, and the fact that they kept all my money. I realize it's in their contracts and they are technically within their right to do so, but one would hope that a business owner would be willing to work with one of their customers. Even a partial refund would have been enough for me. Now, I am just dismayed and out a total of roughly $200 or so, which is a shame because many of their teachers were decent to pretty good. read more

I love the variety of classes here. I'd like to try everything at least once. So far, I've loved the aerial restorative yoga with Bethany the most. Deborah, Loagan and Tami are the other instructors I've taken classes with and they are all amazing and patient. Register for classes with the reformer machines EARLY. I haven't yet had a chance on them because they are so popular. Overall, I'm really happy I tried Twisted Bodies. I've never felt judged by the instructors or others in my classes. read more

This is an amazing studio with some of the best instructors I have ever had the pleasure working out with. You will learn the correct technique to do whatever the instructor is teaching. They offer so many classes. I have been able to experience every class. They are all so different but so fun. Twisted bodies makes working out so much fun. I look forward to it everyday. This is a good studio, but not great. The owners/instructors are VERY nice, however... I came to this studio willing to pay more than a regular gym specifically for their aerial silks. I took their safety course in June (which I paid extra for) and have not been able to take a silks class since then because they're always full (even though they swore there would be more classes added in July; I have yet to see it). Pretty frustrating. Plus, there's no child care, making it very difficult for me to attend any classes during the morning. Their other classes are good, but not what I was looking for. Time to take my business elsewhere. read more

My default workout has always been running and I've struggled with finding something else that helps with overall strength training and flexibility that I actually enjoy. Twisted Bodies has a variety of classes so I'm constantly trying something new while improving my strength and flexibility. This is the first time in over 10 years that I've stuck with a program (outside of running) for more than a month or two. Carissa and Khristen are fantastic instructors as is the rest of the staff. I highly recommend that anyone who is sick of the traditional "gym experience" to try them out, you won't be sorry. read more

I am addicted to this AMAZING studio! As a healthcare professional I appreciate how they implement accurate body mechanic terminology into each and every class. Each class is taught by extremely competent and professional instructors who encourage/guide you through every movement. I have attended classes here for over a month and am so amazed at how's my body is changing and strengthening. I always look forward to each class because I know it will be fun and different from the last class.
