Thankfully, ClassPass has made this so much easier to switch it UP! As a part time fitness instructor with a very strong routine, I constantly find myself craving variety. This place has been on my hit list for a while and I was so happy to be able to finally go last night! And boy, am I glad I did. I tried the hot vinyasa class with Lesa and it was 60 minutes of hot and sweaty bliss. The room was packed and the VYBE was jumping! I was warmly greeted and even though I arrived a few minutes before class Lesa greeted me happily and showed me the ropes. They have towels and water/beverages for purchase. BYO yoga mat but they have those as well. The salt lamps in the studio were a beautiful touch and so were the essential oils. I parked my mat pretty close to the diffuser so I was LOVING the aromatherapy while I got my yoga on. Lesa's class was a booty kicker but she also broke it down and provided modifiers for those of us who aren't so limber but aspire to be (raises hand). Blame my tight endurance athlete hamstrings. At the end of the 60 minutes they provide you with essential oil infused cold towels. The Lakeside area is the perfect location, surrounded by luxury living as well as an abundance of retail shops. The community seems very tight knit here as well. Thankful I was able to come here and cannot wait to use my ClassPass to return for another hot class soon and very soon!!

Normally after work, I'd go home and still be preoccupied about the day and find it hard to relax and "shut-off". Going to this class was perfect. The ambience was perfect, the music was nice. All of the instructors are very friendly and they ask if anyone has injuries or any areas of concern before they start the class. Also, each instructor has an individual program. Each instructor customizes a program and associated music for the content they have scheduled. Before…read morecommitting, we specifically asked about freezing memberships, since I was caring for my mother with stage 4 cancer. They assured us we could freeze at any time. Unfortunately, just one week later I had an emergency appendectomy, so we froze our membership. Three months after that, I needed back surgery--and this time, they refused to freeze it. Instead, they told us to quit because it "wasn't worth" paying $25 a month to hold the membership. We were still charged for the following month and lost all of those classes. On top of that, even when we tried to book classes, most were already full, making it extremely difficult to use the membership we were paying for. One of our very first classes was accidentally booked as one of the hardest levels. We didn't know, and no one guided us. Instead of supporting us, the instructor called me out in front of everyone, embarrassed me, and then went to the front desk to yell at the staff member--again, in front of my husband and other clients. This studio is not about helping people--they're all about money. Between the lack of compassion, unprofessional behavior, and the difficulty of even getting into classes, this was a deeply disappointing experience.

So this particular yoga studio has been on my radar for a while now since it is featured on Class…read morePass. Finally I had time yesterday after work to check out a Yin restorative class! Kim was the instructor and it was a full 60 minutes of pure yoga bliss. They provide all of the yoga swag for you too which is awesome! Their mats are super sturdy and easy to clean, I love having that as an option on days when I don't carry my own mat around in the car. Something here also that they provide which is fairly unique (not all studios have) are the aerial yoga SILKS! This was kind of a nice surprise to me as I did not realize we were going to be using the silks during the restorative session. You have the option to not use the silks as well. I really enjoy Yin style of yoga as it forces me to relax and stretch, two things I am getting better at doing! Kim was very laid back and made the session fun. At the end we did a savasana / rest in the silks which was absolutely divine. You get to swing in the silks too during the meditation part of the class. Overall this was probably one of the best if not THE BEST Yin that I've ever been to! It really set the tone for the rest of my evening and I woke up feeling so refreshed. Cannot wait to go back.

Having studied yoga on and off for a good 7 years, I've been through my fair share of teachers. Some I remember, some I don't. But one voice remains clear in my mind to this day, and that's Becky Klett's. Even now, having not seen her in years I still hear her reminding me to align my feet, rotate my hips and isometrically pull my legs together. Her unwavering focus on alignment and proper approach to difficult poses continues to help me in classes where other teachers fail to mention the dangers. This knowledge has kept me from ever physically hurting my body in a yoga class, and it's invaluable. I also like the light and unobtrusive spiritual touch that Becky brings to classes. Regardless of spiritual background, everyone would like to leave a yoga class feeling more centered, more calm, more focused. I always got that in her classes, and I always appreciated the effort she put into making a personal dedication to each class. While never needing them myself, I also saw her give appropriate adjustments for students with injuries or other physical issues. Yoga teachers abound these days; truly gifted ones are a rare gem. Make use of the ones that you find, in the time that you have.

There is a clearly listed rule in the fitness area that children under the age of 13 are not…read moreallowed. This rule is regularly broken and not enforced at all. I just watched a young couple allow their child (maybe age 4-5?) climb all over the lifting racks as they biked (with their back to the child) and/or sat on their phone. They even adjusted the safety racks, j-hooks, and bench so she could climb about more. Didn't reset anything when they were done. I'm glad she didn't fall. Not sure what the point of the rule is if it isn't enforced.
