I have been going to SunstoneFIT for a couple years now and always end up recommending it to anyone who want a different type of workout. They offer hot and (not so hot) yoga, HIIT, and even fun special classes throughout the month. I have continued to go to Sunstone for so long because it has become a place that I love to go. For me it isn't something I have to do but I want to go do. The instructors are all great and friendly. There is showers in the locker room if you would like to shower after a class. Try this studio (or any of their others) out if you want to try something different. I have been to a lot of studios and keep coming back here. The staff is completely rude, the person I spoke with persons name is chelsey. I inquired about changes to my bank account. I was informed that it was from a membership from 2020. I was under the impression that the membership was canceled not placed on hold. She stated that she couldn't do anything about my account and blamed their corporate office. I was only requesting for the charges to stop not back payment. She said I will still be changed for the next month regardless. They pray on you with the hope that you forget about it and charge inconsistently. I don't care to do business with them and just want payments to stop immediately. She only cared to argue not actually help the customer, it was clear that this wasn't her first time having this conversation and continued to argue and was rude and disrespectful. Regardless of how it happened she should have been more helpful to stop the payments than be dismissive and rude. read more

I practice yoga weekly and have been going the last 10+ years. The studio I typically go to didn't offer a class during my lunch break on this specific day so I wanted to try out Sunstone and I will never be back. I showed up for class 3 minutes early because I was tied up on a work call and the door was locked when the instructor opened the door and said "you are late you are supposed to get here at least 10-15 minutes early." I said I am here 3 minutes early I apologize would you like me to leave? She let me go in after crucifying me for being late. She let me know 4 different times. Then in class it was not a traditional hot flow class. She told me I could NOT drink water unless we were in between flows. Not to mention it was WAY hotter than most hot yoga studios. The studio was dirty and not a typical yogi vibe. I would not go here again if someone paid me to. Yoga six is way better! read more

Beware. If you put your membership on hold, they will charge you $10 a month. It's not a big deal if you plan to return. I figured I would eventually be back, but it has been roughly 5 years since I've been there. I've tried calling them multiple times to cancel but the phone disconnects. Their phone prompts you to leave a message which also disconnects. It's impossible to speak with anyone. Ever. Making it near impossible to cancel unless you go in in person. I don't live in the area anymore. So if you sign up, you better be prepared to never cancel. ***update after business responded: they say they have been trying to reach me but this incorrect. This review is for their corporate office. Same experience as the other reviewer that had their membership on hold for five years. Their support office says they answer the phone 9-6 with a lunch break, it's a lie. They don't answer the phone at all or respond to service tickets. There's zero support from corporate and they send your inquiry off to a studio manager. I had my membership on hold for nearly five years, paying $120 a year to essentially grandfather my legacy member rate, which I achieved by completing over 500 classes and being a member 10+ years. We'll corporate is no giving discounts to legacy members and I paid over $500 in hold fees for nothing. Classes are no longer the same experience. Calm hot yoga use to have an instructor in the room, no longer do. I fully expect this company to go under, much better options for a studio workout than this mismanaged chaos. read more

I was actually telling my husband today.... joining sunstone was the second best decision I made in 2020. This facility is outstanding from the cleanliness to how friendly the staff is also including the class schedule! I just lost my identical twins in august and was depressed and held a lot of my stress in my hips and since the first class, (I even cried silently to flow), I've become stronger, more confident and lost 13 pounds of baby and stress weight. I frequent this sunstone often and really love the staff! The instructors are informative and helpful with class to help your practice progress. You'll feel comfortable in class and you'll always be glad when you can make it to a class. The studio supplies your yoga towel and mat which is a HUGE benefit if you plan to go to a lot of classes. No washing your own yoga towels is a godsend! The locker room has small lockers with combos for your valuables and cubbies for your larger items, two showers (towels, shampoo/conditioner/body wash all there for your use), and are always clean. There are two yoga rooms at this location, a large room and a small room, both are floored with a short carpet and have full mirrors on the walls. The small room at this studio is the HOTTEST hot yoga room I have ever been in! I've been to several studios, several different sunstones, but this little room is a scortcher way beyond any of them. Get a good sweat! They offer several classes all day to fit your schedule or what ever work out you're looking for for the day. This hot yoga location was recommeded to me by several folks I met in the area. They must have something good going because many people were there, and the lot was full. I found them to be focused on closing a sell more than meeting the needs of the people in attendance. The sales lady seemed to ignore my answers to her questions and instead of helping find out what would be the best fit for me and my schedule, she kept trying to push me into buying an expensive membership. I loved hot yoga. They seemed to have competent yoginis. They focus less on the spiritual aspect of yoga. I have no preference in that topic, just sharing for your consideration. read more

I love this place, and love that they now offer hot Barre, Pilates and HIIT classes. I have been attending this place for about two months now, and love the staff, they are all very nice and friendly. I am a big fan of the instructors that help you to perfect your posture during poses, and they definitely come by and assist you with this. The classes are all hot (90-98 degrees) so you will definitely sweat out all those toxins you have stored in your body. Another benefit is they provide you with yoga mats plus a towel for you to use. All you really need is a water bottle and a small hand towel, if you need it. I love all the classes, especially the Barre and Yoga Core classes. These are both minimal in weights and resistance but you really feel the efforts the next day. read more

I will try to write a fair review, this is my first time, I feel it needs to be heard! Good: Location, amenities (they provide towels, yoga mats, shower) heat helps with stretching & flexibility sweating releases toxins and makes you feel good as long as you hydrate and a lot of bad: Yoga is practiced in a military bootcamo style, in a heated room (horrible addition of Pilates class in 2013). focus is not on breathing and sinking into a pose, its always a rush. teachers are on a microphone, can be loud, hence takes away the spiritual and healing side of yoga classes can get crowded and there is no room to move. You may injure and exhaust yourself bcs of the pace. Overall, its not for me! Some teachers are soft spoken and really help with postures. read more

I travel a lot for work and really just wanted to drop in and do a class on the road. Well, affordable it isn't, you're looking at about 30-35 bucks for a single drop in class. The people that work there are super nice. My yoga instructor was great, really friendly. They didn't really try to sell me because they knew I was just visiting. It's more just about the types of classes they offer. I don't know if I did Earth, Fire or whatever, but it's not a Vinyasa flow type yoga. It's way more like Bikram, and I'm not a fan of that. It's not spiritual or relaxing by any means. For sure it would probably tone you up if you did it all the time but I think Yoga is supposed to be more than just something to make you sweat. I'm disappointed in the changes with adding Pilates. As a Pilates instructor who trained extensively to become a teacher, I have a hard time believing that the instructors trained properly to teach Pilates. The class structure is NOT how Pilates is supposed to be taught. I'm sure they would be disappointed if another type of trainer took a weekend continuing ed course to start teaching yoga. A reputable Pilates studio would not hire a teacher without proper training/certification. I understand that the studio is trying to appeal to fitness enthusiasts and not just yoga practitioners, and businesses do what they believe is best for them. It is just my opinion that they are losing something unique that they previously had with the yoga community. Having said that I do still really enjoy the Fire, Earth, and Water classes. I do miss the 90 minute classes at some of the locations, as well as the 84 Asanas class. I hope that they go back to the colored grid class schedule on their website before the first of the year--it is currently a list. I would imagine a business would want to make it very easy to read the schedule so that customers attend. read more

I practiced at this studio for many years (from 2008-2013) before moving from Texas to California. I can honestly say that I have yet to find a yoga studio that I have enjoyed as much. There is a strong sense of community there and the teachers are extremely well-trained and engaged. The hands-on adjustments they gave helped improve my practice and gave me insight into taking care of myself even outside of their classes. Liz, the studio manager, is the best instructor I've ever taken a class from. Period. Anyone with an opportunity to attend classes at this location should absolutely take advantage of it! read more

I went here for months and couldn't get into it. The rooms are sweltering hot, I've always done hot yoga but it's reeeeeally HOT here, and very dark, almost pitch black until your eyes adjust. It's always crowded so it's tough going in and trying to find a spot for your mat in a dark, crowded room. And then the teacher comes in and flips on the lights and tells everyone to stand up to start practice instead of starting from the floor where we are - it's a jarring transition. My biggest issue though is that the yoga rooms are carpeted. They are wet and always smell slightly mildewy. I've never been to another studio that does not have hardwood floors. They do offer a good variety of classes and I liked the barre and HIIT but the HIIT is still done in a heated room, which is uncomfortable and dangerous (swinging weights and balls around while pouring sweat seems like a bad idea). And the equipment doesn't get wiped down during class so unless the staff does it later the weights and balls are germ magnets. For the 6 am HIIT class, it seems like an easy thing to leave the room unheated and then start heating it for the next class but it was always heated. They do require a 30 minute orientation before your first free class which is fine and they were very flexible with me when I wanted to cancel my monthly membership they let me put it on hold and pay a lower drop-in rate. I just couldn't get past the carpeted floors and how hot and dark it was so I wasn't enjoying the experience. I also didn't feel like there were enough advanced postures offered in the classes so if you're an advanced student you might want something more challenging. read more

It's a little too pricey for me to get a full-time membership. But I love when this place does the 10 classes for $10 yoga special. They will occasionally also offer free classes for memorial day and other holidays. I really enjoy the fire 90 class. These classes are seriously addictive. After a few months it became harder and harder to get to the studio. I ended up canceling my membership (you have to call, but not a hard process). It's been a stress reliever not worrying about how much money I was wasting by not canceling and thinking "I'll go next week!" I did enjoy the teachers and staff, they were all great. I love Sunstone. I normally go to the flower Mound location but I have been to Irving a couple of times when I am in the area. My husband did the intro class and he had a hard time with the heat, but they made sure he was okay and made him feel really comfortable. Thought this place was awesome. It was my first hot yoga experience. I was able to attend a class because a friend who is a member asked me to try it out. The teacher i had was very informative and helped me with different poses when she thought my form could be better. Sometimes when i attend yoga classes i feel like the instructors cannot describe certain poses well. That was not the case here. Her instructions were great. Sunstone Yoga was very clean. I love that they do not allow any personal items such as cell phones into the actual studio. You can put your personal belongings in a locker in the locker room. Yoga mats and towels were of professional quality. If i planned to do yoga at least four to five times a week i might splurge on it but otherwise i think its a bit overpriced for my needs. If you are a hardcare yogi it could be a great investment in yourself. read more

I went as a guest but I am considering changing that if I started being consistent. It was a clean and friendly establishment. I am looking around to find workouts I enjoy. This was my second visit to this location. The 1st was for hot Yoga and now for Barre. Let me tell you! This workout was a butt kicker. The instructor was very nice and worked the room well. She seems very personable. One of the things I like must is that it has a quiet relaxed feel. There was no yelling and jumping around in the two classes I have attended and you still get a great workout. The bathroom is small but it works itself out. They provide big towels to cover the mats and they have a nice variety of classes. There are only two showers and a few small lockers that could hold your keys and a wallet. I would suggest not bring in a purse. There are cubbies for you jacket and shoes. The classes I have taken require you to have you shoes off. I go without soaks but I think that is a choice. I do wish they would provide something with pricing that clearly explains what type of plans are available. But that may just an oversight on my part. I could have just missed that information online. read more

This studio offers good hot and warm classes for a variety of skill levels. Instructors are very serious and mean business. If you need a workout, you will get one and sweat a bunch! However, this facility (referring to the Las Colinas Village location) needs a lot of work. If you are looking for a beautiful/relaxing or spa-like yoga environment, this is not the studio for you. The finishes are not nice (if not a little gross) and the actual studios are borderline depressing (a common trend among hot studios). Due to the aesthetics, I truly dread coming to class here. However, I always leave sweaty and feeling great! For a summer, this studio works for me, but I would not commit to this studio long term. read more

one day i wake up and realize...my muffin tops are getting bigger (no wonder i can't get a date) and i can no longer zip up my favorite pair of jordache jeans :-p i guess my late night binges consisting of hot pockets, fage yogurt, and valrhona dark chocolate haven't helped...drastic measures need to be taken... dark chocolate is supposed to be good for my mental and physical health... there's no way i'm depriving myself of the valrhona...i'm not giving up the hot pockets either...these can't be bad... convinced it's the 0% fat fage yogurt that's the cause of my overflowing muffin tops...i guess i will have to forgo the yogurt... i also decide i need to do some form of excercise before my rolls of pannus converge and my body morphs into a full-blown jabba the hutt looking blob... problem...i don't want to do anything that involves a lot of sweating or jumping around...hmm...not many options...it's either swimming or yoga...can't do swimming because that would require me to wear a swimming suit...don't want to be compared to all the waifs walking around in their band-aid looking bikinis and concave abs...that leaves yoga... i check around some gyms and yoga studios...sunstone happened to be the closest and the one that offers the most classes throughout the day... another problem...sunstone teaches hot yoga...that means i'm going to be sweating! maybe this will be a good thing...it'll help me lose some unwanted water weight...if i don't go into an electrolyte imbalance first...causing me to drink a gallon of gatorade... so, what exactly is hot yoga? the room is heated to body temperature...which "stimulates blood circulation to all body parts increasing oxygen distribution as well as toxin removal...the heat decreases the chance of injury which allows for deeper stretching"...blah blah blah... first day of class...OMG...i never knew 98.6 degrees F could be so hot in an enclosed space...just breathing takes effort...and any and all bodily movements led to profuse sweating...after 90 minutes, i am completely tuckered out...actually, the heat got easier to tolerate...but, $600 (6 month membership) and 4 months of diligently going to class later...i didn't see ANY results...no change in size of my muffin tops...and still couldn't zip up the jordache... i guess the late night binges are on again...it's going to take an extreme intervention for me to start excercising... **couple of question for the men...or ladies... 1. what is with the guys wearing skimpier outfits than the women...most guys didn't even bother to wear a shirt and usually wore really short shorts or some form of modified speedo?? 2. there was this guy in my class that always wore this luggage strap looking thing around his chest...is this some type of yoga fashion? could not for the life of me understand what the purpose of that strap was...still confused... read more

The only reason I'm rating it even 2 stars is because of the hot rooms being offered. I've only been to 2 classes and the teachers always seemed rushed or show up late. I am cancelling my membership after this month. All they care about is your money. After your "first free class" they hustle you by saying you will have to pay an extra $80 next time you come if you don't sign up today. Very stupid. It's not that great of a class even if I'm paying for a cheaper plan. would rather stick at my gym and workout there or go to the yoga classes there. WHICH IM ONLY PAYING $30 a month instead of $70 for ONLY 6 classes. So stupid again. They're limiting your classes and it's sooo expensive. Not worth it. read more

Great clean studio that offers a variety of classes. I especially enjoy Barre, they have A, B, and C weeks to change up the routine. The mats are clean and the rooms don't have that weird yoga smell other places have. I feel the teachers here take the time to adjust your posture and encourage you by name. read more

I attended two of their intro level classes and left because the instruction just wasn't working for me. There were too many people in the room both times (Saturday/Sunday), and the instructor was rushing through poses, rushing through corrections, not explaning what we were supposed to be doing. It seemed like she was both stressed out with the size of the class and trying to convey to us that we needed to relax... After each lesson, I felt relaxed, but I think just sitting in a sauna and touching my toes a few times would have the same effect. I suspect that I didn't get a 'real' Yoga experience here.. I'm giving my review 2-stars (I'd have given 3), but the Groupon I bought was a fraud. It was "$30 for 30 days" - or something similar, and a discount of between 100 - 200 dollars was written on Groupon's ad. When I walked in for the first lesson, they asked me if I wanted to try "30 for 30" - or if I had a Groupon. So, the Groupon was not a discount - it was what was being offered at every Sunstone as the introductory trial, and there was no actual savings of between $100 - $200. Maybe this place is OK during the week when it's quiet and there are a half-dozen people in the class, but for me, a weekend attendee - just was not a positive experience. read more

Just went last night. Halfway through my practice I noticed large ants with wings next to my mat. There were more in the room. After class, I went to tell the instructor who was talking to another employee. She said they were just discussing how gross it was and that they had sprayed earlier in the day, that bugs were behind the mirrors. I asked why didn't they cancel class? Isn't this a health safety hazard? Really? How can you have a fitness room sprayed, heat it for hot yoga and not let students know in advance? Students pay to practice in a safe and sanitary environment. I hope you do the right thing in the future. read more

I really enjoy spending my afternoons here. Not only are the studios clean and quiet, the instructors do a great job explaining things and helping newbies get into the right positions.
