There is a clearly listed rule in the fitness area that children under the age of 13 are not allowed. This rule is regularly broken and not enforced at all. I just watched a young couple allow their child (maybe age 4-5?) climb all over the lifting racks as they biked (with their back to the child) and/or sat on their phone. They even adjusted the safety racks, j-hooks, and bench so she could climb about more. Didn't reset anything when they were done. I'm glad she didn't fall. there was way to much emphasis on the 'pride' flag/ group. the climbing itself was fine though the instructor i had did not listen very well to what me and my friend were saying and asking about climbing. overall it was ok but i wish again that they were not so blatently for 'pride'. i want to be inclusive (before anyone says i am just a bigot or something) but all of the 'pride' stuff is just an abomination and a sin. you can be forgiven, but being trans, gay, lesbian, or any of the other stuff, is just pure evil and is from satan himself! read more

First the good. The staff here are amazing. They are friendly and are always willing to help if they are allowed to by corporate management. Management by the corporate Movement leaves much to be desired. They institute policy changes such as deciding to cancel the Summit shoe rental policy rentals with very little notice. They removed the ability for staff to make changes to customers accounts. Instead the staff have to direct customers to corporate email for support. The website doesn't include any personalized account information via sign in, so you can't even confirm your current account setup on your own. The email replied that they backed up, but emails would be handled in the order they were received. They still haven't responded in the last 10 days. I can't even confirm what they have in their system to know what type of account change is necessary to request. The company wants your money so much so they will charge paying members $6 for shoe rentals each visit on top of their membership dues, but they are unwilling/incapable of actually responding if you need help. The gyms are nice, but you might reconsider joining them. They don't really seem responsive or committed to customer service. They don't empower their employees who are the face of their business. read more

I'm have been down in Dallas for work for the last month. I have made my way through the collection of summit gyms here in the area. I'm a basically a bouldering only guy at this point in my life, so these bouldering only gyms are right up my ally. That said, this is the best of the summits. The real estate inside caters to the hard bouldering much better than the others, and the length of the climbs is much better here. Both power and endurance can be earned here. The setting was also good, not amazing, but well worth the trip up here to Denton if your in the Dallas area. I found a void around v7-v9 it seemed to go from v7 to v11 pretty quickly. But, the hard stuff was still quite good. This will definitely be my go to if I'm back in the area. Thank you Summit! read more

My daughter and I came here for a Yoga class. We were greeted by friendly, helpful staff. We made our way back to the yoga room and enjoyed a most amazing class lead by Catalina. It's where I started climbing and where I met some of my best friends. So I was stoked to check out the Denton location. Glad I did. As I have never tried rock climbing (looks fun though), I can only speak of the yoga here. They have a great special to check it out. $10 for 10 days of unlimited yoga! We just finished our ten days and will be joining Summit very soon. One of the best things about their yoga is that they have classes every day at 5:00 and 7:00. That's gives plenty of time to get home after work, run, and get in a good yoga class. So many classes is awesome! The classes are very good quality! They have a lot of different yoga instructors and teach various styles of yoga. The teachers are all very friendly, knowledgeable, and provide well-thought-out classes. The classes are challenging but a beginning would still be able to get through the class. I love that they offer different styles of classes so you can get muscle building classes in, uptempo classes, and just flat out relaxing classes. The room is kinda small so they are sometimes pretty full. They have plenty of mats you can use at no charge. Great yoga, great instructors, and I believe a great price! They offer discounts for teachers! read more

This summit location focuses on the bouldering aspect of rock climbing rather than the more traditional top roping. Regardless I always have a great time and learn new things every time I come in. At first it was a little intimidating watching all the regulars but they have a wide range of problems to complete. I highly recommend anyone even mildly interested in rock climbing to check out any (I've also been to the Carrollton and grapevine locstions) summit location and try it out. Today took our 13 year old son for a surprise trip this afternoon since he hasn't been able to do much since covid, despite it being a 30 min trip for us to get there, I wanted him to do something he enjoyed doing. Found out when we arrived by a notice on the door that pre-registration was required. So he tried to do so while standing out front - unfortunately he could not remember his ID number so we went in to see if they could provide it -but a very rude worker asked in no uncertain terms if we had masks (nothing posted on the doors indicating they are required) and we wouldn't be helped until we had them on. I said we had them in car so we went back out to get them and returned. On return we were able to get my son's ID to register but again the rude worker determined that it was already 1:15 and we'd have to return for the following 2 hour block of time at 3:30, despite there only being 2 climbers in the building. Clearly he has no clue about customer service, kindness, or compassion. Very disappointed, we left and will not return. read more

As a relatively new Dentonite and long time Summit member I cannot recommend this gym enough. The staff have gone out of their way to be friendly and accommodating every single time I've been there. The facility is top of the line for bouldering. This branch of Summit is focused primarily on bouldering but they do offer a few (4-5 I believe) auto-belays as well. By far the best thing about Summit is the atmosphere, whether its your first time or you're here to crush the toughest routes they have to offer, everyone has the mindset of "we're all here to get better at climbing and have some fun." I can't say enough good things about Summit - Denton. The staff is welcoming and helpful at every turn. The pricing is reasonable for memberships, and each membership you add to yours makes it cheaper, and every person you refer makes yours cheaper. The gear is priced fairly and the staff in knowledgeable in all things climbing. The yoga classes are completely helpful and an all around great experience and the ab classes are just-pushing-you-enough and yet go-at-your-own-pace. The walls are changed and updated on about a weekly basis so there are always new challenges right around the corner! Go Summit - WHOO! read more
