It came out very pretty, but the hairdresser had to cut about 7 inches of my hair for the style to work correctly. She cut it dry, and since my hair is curly when my hair went back to being curly it was very uneven. Luckily I had a hair appn with a curly hair dresser a week later so she was able to fix my hair and give it layers, but I was sad because I had been trying to grow my hair out. My makeup was done after my hair was done and it looked really good. This is a great find. A cozy salon with young artists to glam you up. Why not, if it is prom night? Setting up the appointment is easy. The voice is very welcoming. The entrance was cute, their bathroom was also artsy. The decor has a bit of bling but not pretentious. Our great make up artist , Suzy(wait, I never even asked about spelling it right) was able to enhance my daughter's features without making her look like a caricature. Then came Shine, our hairstylist , who transformed my daughter's straight school girl hair to soft waves. It worked! It really did. The best part, (especially for a teenager) was the photos shoot before and after sessions. You get to be propped up in a high director's chair , with lights set up and three girls with their phones taking snapshots and videos of you ( yeah, just like paparazzi and style photographers) , It was an awesome experience for my daughter, especially since it was her first time to have her a full hair and make up done . The absolute best salon in Glendale! Roman has been doing my hair since the beginning and let me tell you he is the best in the making. I am extremely picky with anything on my hair and face. He always nails every expectation and has the hands of gold!! I don't really need to give him direction and every time I sit in his chair and he ask "what are we doing today?" I always it's up to you. I've never had an experience where I would leave it up to the hairstylist to do my hair (from hair color to styling). I don't know even where to begin. Let's start with that I am VERY protective of my hair and who I allow to touch it, so I took some time doing my research on who I thought I could trust with my hair. I came across Insta Glam and saved them on Yelp, once I narrowed down who I should go to around the LA/ Glendale area, I went with my gut and chose them. I got ahold of them through DM's on IG, and immediately they were communicating very nicely and took the time of breaking down pricing, on top of understanding what I wanted. I hadn't gotten a haircut or color in two years, and was upfront of being nervous, but they assured me I was in good hands and they would take their time. I got an appointment the next day after getting ahold of them, and when I was about to open the door a young man kindly approached me and remembered my name. I believe he is a receptionist? I could be so wrong so apologies if he sees this! The man and me talked about my wants for my hair, he then introduced me to another man, who I did not know at the time would be an absolute genius and savior for my hair. The whole staff is friendly, and they offer Armenian coffee (which I love and needed), water tea, chocolates, etc... They all observe carefully as if to make sure customers are ok and like me, not feeling anxious when it's time for a haircut. I wanted just a all over hair color that matched my roots, and a very minimal trim, and without making me feel pushed the hairstylist and reception talked to me through the whole process and made sure I saw what was being cut off. They did warn me I should cut off maybe one more small inch for my ends were DEAD, and I trusted them to do so, and my hair stylist still made sure my hair was long while making sure it was healthy. When the process was done, I was shocked. Absolutely too stunned to speak, because I could not believe this gorgeous hair was mine! From the blowout they offered, long layers I was very particular about, fixing my curtain bangs I horribly did my self, and the overall service, I had no words but just to say thank you. I honestly thought reception was just hyping the hairstylist up just to get my money and not care about what I wanted, and I was completely wrong. This place is now my go to when I need a trim, which at not be for a while just because I like to grow out my hair , but I know where to go to and who I can trust. I hope the hairstylist know how much I appreciate his patience and hard work, the young man who greeted me gave phenomenal customer service, and the whole staff just has a calming vibe. Also if you go please admire and appreciate the art work, it was all done by a young woman who works there! To the owner of the salon, you run just an impeccable business. Thank you all! One look at their instagram and I could tell they do the kind of cuts she wanted - layery in the back and curtain bangs for long hair . . . I saw that Shine had done the cuts she especially liked so we booked with her. For the first 48 hours after getting her Insta Glam haircut she was moving her head and proclaiming it is the best haircut she's every had! The name of the salon is spot on. HORRIFIC EXPERIENCE WITH SONA I had an appointment with this stylist Sona in April after seeing they had good offers advertised on the website and seemed really profession and high end, just to experience an NINE HOUR disaster. i should have known it was too good to be true. I would never usually go out of my way to write a bad review but I am still suffering til this day over the mockery they made of my hair. They throw you on anybody that is willing to take you and certain stylists think they're too boujee to take on certain clients because I came with an offer. Hair stylists need to be open and honest with their clients, if they don't believe they can achieve something, YOU DO NOT EXPERIMENT ON YOUR CLIENTS LIKE THEY ARE LAB RATS. ESPECIALLY WITH BLEACH. I am now forced to throw on cheap box hair dye to try to achieve my natural colour back until I find someone who actually knows what they're doing. I had booked for the 66% off balayage which was listed on their website TWO WEEKS PRIOR TO MY APPOINTMENT (just to later mention this at the salon and be treated like this offer doesn't exist and I was seeing things) Called in on the day, to inform the salon I will be running 5 minutes late, to be told the stylist I booked for has called in sick and that 'I should have been informed' and to hold whilst they ask other hairdressers if they could take the appointment. (I picked a specific stylist due to the work I saw on her social media and felt she could achieve what I wanted) FIRST RED FLAG. But I was already on my way, I ended up waiting in the parking lot for 20 minutes waiting for a call back which I never got because I was later told the receptionist 'didn't take my number down correctly' so I decided to go the salon and speak to them face to face. One stylist refused to do my hair, due to the fact she 'doesn't do the offer'. She initially stated the salon doesn't even do the offer until speaking to management and finding out the poster with the offer is outside and oh she 'didn't know'. I don't know why it was being negotiated after I was mislead to believe the offer is available AND neglected to be informed prior to the appointment the stylist I booked with would not in. The blame was all put on the receptionist who booked my appointment at the time who apparently 'no longer works there'. Long story short I was placed with amother stylist Sona. And it was then all made clear to me why they had thrown me on her to do my hair. She took me on last minute and when one of her clients who had actually booked with her showed up for her appointment, the salon thought it was okay to allow her to run back and forth between doing mine and her hair. Leaving bleach on my hair, completely neglecting me then going to her, then doing the same to her. I am a bride to be and I was left in tears about how my hair came out. I was there from 1pm to 10pm as my hair came out orange TWICE! Bleach was then added again along with multiple toners. (Which they tried to charge me for, but once again neglected to tell me it's additional) IT WAS ORANGE, STREAKY AND NOT BALYAGE. MY WHOLE HAIR FROM THE ROOT HAD COPPER TONES IT LOOKED LIKE I WAS WEARING A WIG. The girl who suffered the same experience as me was also fuming and refused to pay! I was the last one to leave the salon and felt so uncomfortable and tired at this point knowing they won't put in effort knowing their shift is over and everyone just wants to go home! I expected to pay $299 with an offer the company have advertised, I deserve the same treatment as somebody paying full price. I trusted their employees, they disrespected me and robbed me! I was charged $900 for the service that's advertised as $299?! After 2 days of management trying to negotiate with me via email, I did not receive a refund. They need to make up for what I have to live with on my head, put my hair through and further damage it will take just to fix it. I will take it upon myself and do whatever it takes to ensure nobody visits this horrible salon!! 1 star only because I have to ! read more

I took a chance on a little salon in Glendale off the beaten path...and omg. I'm so happy I did. Tamara, my stylist, is an absolute artist. I'd never seen someone work their magic so effectively as she did on my (admittedly messed up) hair. I've been growing out my hair for 2 years since losing it to chemotherapy - since it started growing out, it's been platinum blonde, pink, red, black, green, and most recently, back to a dark blonde, which is where I want to stay. My roots were growing out, and I knew I couldn't do it myself, especially if I want it to look natural. Tamara nailed it - she added a root melt (root smudge? Unsure!), and it looks naturally lived in. My hair looks incredible. Even my boyfriend noticed the difference, and he barely noticed when I went from platinum to red. Makeup was a little on the pricey end at $150, but they communicated costs upfront, which I appreciated.
