    Shiny oil on frame.
    Colin S.

Shop undertightened my oil drain plug and it fell out 100 miles later on the highway causing my oil to drain completely. Luckily I caught it immediately and pulled over and shut my engine off. I was stranded far from home at 9:30pm and got a tow to an autozone. I came back the next morning, got a plug and oil and refilled my engine and got back on the road. When I confronted InstaLube about this they argued with me, called me a liar, came up with several bullshit excuses (oil all over my frame was from an engine leak, oil all over everywhere was due to a loose plug, it couldn't have fallen out blah blah) They offered to pay for the new plug and oil and give me a free oil change in the future. They refused to give my money back for the oil change. Eventually after more arguing they agreed to give me a full refund. I went to an independent shop with good reviews, paid for an expensive oil change, got poor work done and then poor customer service when they were confronted with their shoddy work. They wasted 6 hours of my time and almost killed my truck. Use a torque wrench when you tighten the drain plug and these fuckups won't happen, and when you make a mistake own it and make it right. Mistakes happen but your bad attitude needs to go. I won't be going to this shop ever again and I hope that my engine doesn't have issues down the line.

This is the cost of an oil change for a 2011 Equinox. Only $94 what a deal huh. Great job taking advantage of my wife

This place is BS and takes advantage of women. After having my wife stop in for an oil change in which I expected to pay no more than $50 or less they tack her with a $94 bill. She was told her car took an extra quart of oil than normal cars. WTF is that about. Then they double charged her just to top off her coolant. In which she was told would be an extra couple bucks turned into an $18 charge on the bill. The "extra quart" of oil was $25, $25 dollars you have to be kidding me for 1 extra quart. I encourage every single person who reads this to never go to this place. They do not deserve your business or anyone else's business. After I called and complained he the manager was only willing to refund $12 on the bill. This by far is some of the worst service I have ever heard of and I'm disgusted that my wife was treated like she was a bag of cash pulling into their dock for service.

More time should be spent explaining what is being done. Need to show old Oil filter when changed, so no question about putting on new one..

I brought in my BMW 328i with electrical issues, which the BMW agency was not able to diagnose let alone fix. Jorge and team ran their diagnostics, tried to re-use/refurbish the damaged part in an attempt to save me money. That speaks a lot about their honesty and ethics! All the while they had my car, waiting for the parts, they kept it covered, and even gave me a loaner!!! Did I say they go above and beyond?! Lastly, they kept me informed all throughout the process and finally my car was fixed in a very timely manner. Now they're working on my wife's A3. I'm very glad to have found them.

I had been babying the car because the last thing I wanted was to make things worse. The owner said he wanted to take it for a quick drive to see what it was doing. I trustingly handed him the keys and then watched him go ripping off in my baby. I was mortified. What I expected to be a careful diagnostic drive sure looked more like a stress test. He came back telling me what a nice car it was, and ultimately recommended several thousand dollars in repairs. Maybe I'm more particular about my cars than some people, but if you own an older or special car that you genuinely care about, you probably know exactly how I felt watching it disappear down the street. That was enough for me. If you care about your car and how it's treated, this probably isn't the shop for you. It certainly isn't for me.

I really want to like this place. It's less than five minutes from my house and, as other yelp…read morereviewers have noted, when the crew is at their best you really do feel taken care of but some teams are better at making you feel this way than others. Part of what Oil Changers proposes to offer is to check all fluid levels and to top off, to check brake lights, belts, signals, head lights and air filter, to clean the windshield and check tire air pressure. This is exactly what my old mechanic used to do before he retired. Too often, though, they skip many or all of these tasks. I could understand that this might happen if they were super busy but it often happens when they're slow. More importantly, when you get your invoice, these items are checked off as if they've been performed when they have not. Honestly, this does not give me the feeling of being well taken care of but leaves a taste of deception in my mouth even if the basic task of changing the oil and filter has been performed correctly. I leave wondering what else might have been missed through inattention. I have no problem in general with the folks that work there, they're always welcoming and friendly. If it's too much to ask of them to do these basic safety and maintenance checks maybe it shouldn't be asked of them and maybe it shouldn't be printed out on the bill that these tasks are required and have been performed. I really hope this is something that can be addressed.
