Farrell (THC owner) is a complete Hustler. I think he was used to easy bait until he met me. "You can't con a con man". I'm hip to all the tricks in the book. From day one I was very skeptical of Farrell and the THC buisness. He wants a lot of money up front to start. The job took a lot longer than I was promised and he tried to pull a couple fast ones on me but I held the final payment as long as I could until they were corrected. In the end Farrell gave me an excellent product at a good price. His transporter Thomas was awesome and got my very large tiny home onto my property with no issues. If you do business with THC make sure you check on the final product before issuing the last payment. Once Farrell has all your money, he won't fix any issues you may have. FYI. John Q

I wish I had continued vetting this company before hiring them and can't blame anyone else, but I completely agree with the more recent one-star reviews (which came after I was already working with them). The experience has been a disaster. They do a very nice feasibility study at a low cost (loss leader, obviously), then sign you up with a sloppy contract (I pointed out a number of issues with it to them). Soon Zach was no longer with the company and the person who claimed to be my new contact was never heard from again. I went forward with my project, had the original architect replaced shortly after the design phase began, then lost my only reliable contact within the company, who made sure that meetings were set up and questions were addressed. I was eventually able to speak with her to find out she had been laid off, happening right after the replacement architect notified me that he had voluntarily left the company. At that point there was nobody I could speak with until I managed to get hold of the CEO's number. Multiple calls, texts and emails were either ignored or I was promised quick responses which never came. My permit application was returned with comments from the city and I spent the next 5 weeks hounding them to respond. They assured me that their responses professionally addressed all of the issues, which was a complete lie. I ended up having to apply to the city to replace them as the project applicant. They were notified of that and given 5 business days to respond. Not surprisingly, they never bothered. Having taken over the control of my project, I had to hire someone else and pay for work to be duplicated in order to keep my project moving along. I'm still awaiting the permit, but have made progress and am relieved to be rid of these scammers. As they were referred to me by a real estate broker who heard their pitch at a professional meeting, I gave him a heads up not to refer anyone else. They obviously get clients via these pitches to real estate professionals, so I hope those organizations do a better job of vetting them before putting them in front of their members. I wouldn't wish my experience to be repeated to anyone else.

When we started, we only knew what we didn't like about our current kitchen. Like any major…read moreproject, we started by reaching out to a couple of vendors to get quotes, that's where we met Alon, the project manager for Lumina Builders. What immediately stood out to us was that he had ideas and solutions to address our pain points and make enhancements, we wouldn't have ever considered, and didn't just wait for us to tell him how we wanted things. He created a vision for us in that first quote visit. The other contractor we spoke to didn't provide any ideas just asked us how we wanted it. It was a very easy decision to go with Alon and Lumina Builders. Our project was estimated to take 2-3 months and ultimately took two and a half months to complete. We designed a brand new kitchen, addressing all of our concerns and adding a few recommendations from Alon to streamline some areas. They ripped everything out aside from the flooring and walls. We got brand new custom cabinets, custom lighting, and new countertops. Our fridge was moved to a new, more accessible area. Our sink was shifted down to align with the stove for continuity sake (never realized how much I hated it being in a corner previously). We had a new little cabinet built in our little breakfast nook area and we had an appliance garage built to house everything that took up counter space. Everything is so much brighter and more open and, even though we know the demensions are roughly the same, it feels so much wider. We are ecstatic with how everything came out. Alon is a genius. He was responsive to us throughout the project, checking in weekly to see how things were going, giving us peace of mind throughout this process, as first time remodelers. We were indecisive about the primary cabinet color (I was very worried we'd be stuck with something we didn't really like) but he worked with the cabinet makes to give us several samples to choose from. He was very patient with us. We LOVE how everything turned out! We'll definitely be using Lumina Builders for all of our future projects.

Timeline and contractor coordination? On point. There was a moment where a trade was running behind and we raised it -- they took the feedback well and kept things moving. There was also a moment where we pushed back on the slab count and rather than brushing us off, they looped in the right people to work it through with us. That's just good business. What really stands out though is the design thoughtfulness. They respected our very specific taste while also gently steering us toward choices we'd love long-term. To all the consumers reading this review, I would like to share what I have personally picked up, and what the experience taught me, transacting with R&R Services SoCal, they are as follows: 1. Research extensively and do not trust information provided to you even when it appears legitimate, and owner claimed all was valid, company was bonded, and has insurance. 2. Check the legitimacy not only of of the business identity but also the license number presented to you. Establishing a business identity does not warrant an automatic specific licensing by trade. In the issues I had with R&R Services SoCal as so discovered later by other customers during their business transaction as I have as well, and confirmed by the Contractors State License Board, he does not have a valid license, nor have any other license on record. 3. Check for business identification, and company insurance. 4. When your contractor keeps calling out, unable to meet deadlines, unable to come up with fund to support his own business and solely rely on asking for advanced payments, and these were in my case working with this business. These are great indication of general poor management, and possibly declining business, or no fund to begin with at all. 5. When your contractor keeps talking about other experiences he had with his previous clients that are either suing him, asking to be refunded by almost 75% of the actual work he did, reversed/disputed payments stories from repetitive re-work where clients like me almost already offered to pay for parts because your contractor could just not execute, stories of customers who asked the contractor to leave instead of continuing with the job orders, these are all positive indicators of the level of knowledge, skills, and abilities of your contractor to actually execute your possible job order, depending on what was the ask. In my case, the job order was to create a partial ceiling storage, replace the old garage system, install canned lights, install two chandeliers, and replace two toilets. By record, none of these turned out to be in any way a good experience to recall, I can repeat all the details on how Rholene of R&R Services, SoCal executed the job order, that the ending remained to be not only a highly stressful personally up to alopecia condition level but an extremely traumatic experience, overall. 6. Read reviews, scrutinize the validity of the reviewers, and their reviews. ensure that they are legitimate individuals, and not review posers. Be fully aware. In the end, Rholene Jamandre bit more than he can chew, and swallow. He took on a project where he lacked KSAs, and underestimated the job order repetitively confirming that he can finish in one week with just him and no experience helper, followed by a promise to finish on the 2nd week, 3rd week, until his time run out, and decided to abandon the project. There was no rework that has been done, re-work did not take place with this project. He could not finish the job in time, and no longer knows how to make corrections from his own mistakes.
