My spouse checked out this place knowing she would get a great haircut. Unfortunately there was a staff who insisted on cutting her hair and continued to not listen to my wife's request on a certain hairstyle. She claims to have 25 year years of experience and knows what she is doing. She ended up cutting more than what my wife wanted and just completely applied her own artistic touch without anyone's opinion. She was so insistant on cutting my wife's hair too when my wife was asking for a specific staff. No one was around as she continues to cut hair while others were on a break. On top of that, the prices are advertised as $30 for women's haircut but charged us for $40 because it is a long women's haircut. Last time I checked, they spent like 20 minutes cutting hair to charge for extra??!!! I recommend not coming here read more

Well I used to go to Lizette at this salon but she retired. I went to instyles and got assigned Kim. I have never seen Kim before cuz she is new. She was really rough with everything. Haircut should not be painful, but Kim treats you like you're fast food and she's got ten customers she has to tend to or something. There is no customers other than me. Anyway, she cut my hair with 99% razor. I hate razors cuz it creates split ends. But she did it so fast and rough that I didn't have time to say anything. And she is haphazard with the curling iron too. But apparently she has been doing this for 25 years. Anyway, I came home and I hated my hair. I called the salon owner Paul and told him I hate it. And he's like come and I'll fix it. And he was reassuring and calm. I think i didn't have the length anymore to get the exact cut I want but he used scissors to clean up and even out the layers. It was nice. Anyways, I feel like I look like a pumpkin rn but the haircut will grow out nice. And I think if I curl it and style it messy a bit it'll look nice. Hehe. Best haircut Ive had in 12years!! (Late review) Wish I did a before and after but I forgot :( guess didn't expect such a great result! I walked in, no appt, everyone was really nice. I think my hair lady was Vicky (i will definitely be back and update this if your name isn't Vicky. So sorry im really Bad with names) Vicky is the first hair lady I've had who took charge of my hair. I go to hair salons 1-2 times a year. I usually go because I want something different or need my hair colored. I've never requested the same person because I always tell them "I want a haircut, something like this (shows a pic) or it's up to you, what do u think will look good on me" . And everytime, they would say something like "it's up to u" or is this length okay, etc. I understand that hair cutters are scared to make a mistake but I always re iterate that my hair is gona grow back so I'm giving them creative freedom. No1 dared to take full charge except Vicky. I just told her what I always tell everyone who cut my hair and she took charge. While she was cutting my hair on layers, she NEVER asked "is this enough? Do u want shorter? What do u think of this?, etc." She did what she thought was best and she was right. She let her creativity flow, she wasn't afraid. For the first time in awhile, my hair lady listened and allowed me to enjoy the peace and comfort of being in a salon. I saw my hair after and was happy with it. It was different. Hubby loved it. He kept on saying how it looked so good on me. I didn't realize how awesome it was until a few days after when I've shampooed it, let it hang without any hair dryer, etc. Even people at work or in church kept complimenting how my cut looked soo nice on me. Yes the place might be small, not as clean or fancy as other places.. but I will definitely be back because I was happy with the result. I usually pay a lot for my hair. This time, I paid less than what I usually do but my hair definitely looked way more expensive. I was looking for a place to get a haircut for my daughter when we stumbled into Instyles hair salon. The place says walk-ins welcome so we asked and they took my daughter for a haircut. Paul asked if I wanted a cut and I really wanted one, but was embarrassed to ask, since it was close to 6 pm and they close At 7. I ended up getting a haircut, dye, and keratin treatment. My sister introduced me and some of my family to this Salon over a year ago, and we all have been coming in on a regular basis because we liked the way they take care of our hair and they make you feel like you're family every time you step inside the place. When I drive down to visit my family from the Bay Area, I always make sure that I have an appointment to see Paul each time, and he's great fixing my hair all the time. I got nervous when I learned that he won't be there on our scheduled trip down to LA because he's going away on a trip for a Family reunion. So he asked me who I wanted to see instead, so I told him I'll try Kasey, and I'm so glad I did. She did a great job trimming my hair and doing the Keratin treatment. Tried out a new salon to dye my hair blue for the second time. It was roughly $200 cheaper and the stylist that I had did a great job on my haircut a couple months prior so I figured I could trust her. She sent me pictures of the dye jobs she did too and it looked promising. There were multiple red flags during the process. 1) The bleach was burning my scalp. This was normal as I experienced this at a prior salons but it felt much more unbearable this time. Luckily when I told the stylist, she removed it immediately. 2) No brushes or foil was used. From prior experience and with videos I've seen online, stylists always move in sections. Bleach was haphazardly massaged throughout my scalp and so was the blue dye. At my previous salon, they had plastic ear covers and forehead shields. 3) Adding on the last point, the blue dye was squirted out of the tube directly onto my head. That seemed so abnormal because how is the color supposed to go on evenly. Since no brushes were used, the color (and the bleach earlier too) was all over my skin. See image for aftermath. I had a party and a graduation photo shoot the next day but had to skip the party since I spent the entire morning and afternoon vigorously scrubbing my scalp with rubbing alcohol to remove the blue from my forehead and ears. Even then, my skin was bleached. 4) The tips of my hair had some remaining color from the last time I dyed my hair so the ends were a completely different shade since it wasn't bleached and couldn't hold the blue color the same. 5) The aftermath for at least the next month was TERRIBLE! After one wash, my hair was significantly lighter. Blue rubbed off on EVERYTHING! Sofas, towels, clothing. With the money I "saved" getting it done with this stylist, I have spent so much time on cleaning and upkeep. I bought so much more color depositing products to maintain the color and it has not been worth it. I contacted my stylist about the fading and all she could offer was to put more blue in it for a cost and recommended I purchase products for upkeep. Recommend my stylist for cuts but this was a nightmare experience for coloring. Feel free to message for her name. read more

I needed a simple cut and have been looking for a place closeby. I've been on yelp so many times looking for a hair salon that doesn't cost so much for just a simple cut. I called last week and Paul said women's cut starts at $20 and $30 for long hair. Not too bad. I was hesitant to come in but my hair was bothering me. So decided to just walk in and a stylist was available. Majority of the stylists were busy and seemed very friendly and chatty. There were both men and women being served and also sitting and waiting. It was a nice and decently cleaned salon with all the salon stuff you may need. Danny sat me down and asked if I wanted a wash, I said a dry cut is fine since I had washed my hair last night. Also hoping it would be quick and wouldn't cost extra. He was friendly and even googled or pinterest how my hair would come out. He took about 1.5 inches off and did some layers to give my hair some movement and texture as asked. Probably finished within 30mins. Costed $30. My hair was only mid back, but I guess that is considered long hair. Over all, my experience was good. He did want I wanted and was very nice. read more
