This is a great dermatology practice. After years of struggling with acne, I finally got it under control with their help and innovative technology. I usually see PA Serenchia who takes her time to discuss my concerns and explain different treatment options - she is wonderful! I have also seen Dr. Chang - she is fantastic as well. This outfit is more commercial than medical. I was referred to them by my PCP for acne and melasma. After a couple of good appointments, they switched the nature of my appointments from 'medical' to 'cosmetic' without informing me. Also, they keep forgetting submitting their bill with the referral to my health insurance and hence do not get fully reimbursed and want me to cover the difference. They keep harassing me with bills although I explained to them a zillion of times that all that is needed is the referral. Oh, and they also mucked up an acid peel treatment by underestimating my pigmentation and made my condition WORSE. No apology, no reimbursement, just gift of a facial cleanser. I trust they get their act together before I need to send a legal letter. read more

I am giving this business 5 stars due to Dr. Chang and the front office staff. The front office staff are so friendly and loving. Dr Chang is a goddess!! These days it has become commonplace for doctors to use injections and not knowing what they are doing, and really ruin your face-- and dont care. Dr. Chang will ensure to fix any problem from other doctors and make things right for you again. She is someone I feel is trustworthy and genuinely compassionate to her patients. She is so loving and gorgeous inside and out and will make you feel like a goddess too! I am so grateful for Dr. Chang. I can not say enough nice things about her. read more

Like other reviews mention, Dr. Snell (Sarika Snell) will spend less than 5 minutes in the exam room with you. She barely looked at my skin and then quickly just prescribed something. I went to another derm who actually diagnosed it as something serious. She's a profit pig and doesn't care to get to know you as a patient. The doctors here are good, but their front desk staff literally make this place not worth going. They are not friendly and unresponsive when you try to make appointments. When I do actually reach someone to make an appointment, they are not accommodating to my schedule and do not work with me to pick a date that works for me. They offer one date and basically say "Take it or leave it." I'm paying a lot of money for their services so I expect to be treated with respect and for my needs in scheduling. FRAUD - DO NOT GO HERE!! I called and scheduled a VI-peel facial. At the appointment, I agreed to the cost of the facial and paid for the facial at the office (somewhere in the $400 range). They scheduled the basic peel with a Dermatologist (Victoria) which was not requested by me and at no point was I told that this was a doctors visit and that there would be a doctor visit fee associated with the FACIAL visit. The doctor provided no review of my skin and just put the VI-peel formula on my face and took it off (by the way at most other Med spas where I've gotten this procedure - the results were FAR better). If I had known I would be charged a doctors visit, I would have gotten a full body scan (which I've never done and have needed to do) or at least asked about a few mole concerns that I have had but since I was not told of this and thought i had booked a basic facial, I didn't ask. They then proceed to send you a doctors visit bill for an additional $175!!!! Are you kidding?...for what? I called numerous times to explain to them that this is Fraud and an unacceptable practice. No calls have been returned and they are threatening to take it to collections. Save yourself the trouble and peace of mind and book facials elsewhere!! read more

Worst staff I have ever had to deal with and I am in the medical field. Went to my yearly appointment in MARCH to refill a standard prescription I have been on since I was 12. Well it is now END OF AUGUST and I have still not been able to refill the prescription. I call literally every week for an update and at this point they just send me to voicemail, I leave one and no one ever calls me back! What kind of system is that!? Thanks but no thanks. I went to this practice based on the recommendation of a friend several years ago. Since then, we've both changed our opinions significantly. In the office, my experiences have been mixed. Dr. Riyaz is awesome! However that doesn't cloud my first experience where they inappropriately wanted a blood test for something that was totally unnecessary, which caused me 5 needle pricks and lots of money due to my insurance. My most recent experience is the most glaring and still has not been resolved after seven calls, three voicemails, one email, and one phone conversation with the front desk. Why can't you phone in my prescriptions, especially given that this is a time sensitive issue? Good luck trying to get any feedback via phone, or response at all for that matter. read more

She was right on time and had me on my way in ten minutes. She quickly diagnosed my spider bite and prescribed two ointments for it. She was assertive but friendly. I booked an appointment through ZocDoc looking at the reviews on that site. Wish I had checked Yelp instead. Lady at front desk seemed annoyed by my questions and was very short with me. I made an appointment with Dr. Chang but was seen by a PA instead who didn't introduce herself or address the fact that I was being seen by her instead of Dr. Chang. There was an issue with my prescriptions that could have been easily resolved but this office never answers the phone. After waiting in the long cue I am redirected a few times only to be prompted to leave a voicemail and they'll "return" your call. Except they don't. Waste of money. Won't be returning. read more

From check-in, to the MA (Phillip?), to the PA (Vanessa) was a great experience. First off I got a same day appointment which deserves at least 3 stars. Check in was simple and I already had my paperwork filled out and ready for hand-off. I was called back within 5 minutes and the MA asked 1,001 questions, remembered everything, and explained my answers to the PA. I didn't have to repeat myself at all. Fellow supermodel Vanessa came in and accessed my issue, we agreed to a solution, and I was out in no time. Other than parking, this was the best doctor's office experience ever. read more

It was awful. I should have read the reviews before scheduling an appointment. From start to finish I felt like I was rushing the wrong sorority house. I have never received such poor service ever from a physician's office. A dismissive 'nurse?' directed me to the exam room and told me to put my personal belongings on the green chair. I did just that and sat in the examination chair. She asked me a few questions, without giving eye contact, and was curt and disinterested. She filled out some paperwork, left the exam room - and slammed the door. Ms. Bennis, the Physician Assistant, then entered the exam room, asked questions and was knowledgeable about my issue, and it was fine. She offered an immediate solution, I opted to make another appointment as I wanted to check with my insurance company first. We settled on scheduling another appointment. With that she filled out paperwork, handed it to me and then she and the nurse, quickly left the office. I was so uncomfortable and really felt as if I was a bother rather than a paying client. I went to the designated check out counter and again no eye contact and was completely dismissed by this receptionist/nurse/what-ever-she-is. Again it seemed as if the questions I asked about insurance and payment were irritating her. It was really unfortunate, I couldn't believe that even the secretary taking payments was rude. I paid the co-pay without knowing the actual cost of the visit and got out of there. It seemed like asking for clarification was a hassle. This concerns me. I felt terrible. Thankfully my issue isn't critical. I can only image how one with cancer must feel. I won't go back. Dr. Chang, I don't know if you just don't care about the way your patients are treated. Or if you aren't able to find good employees. I'm curious. I was insulted and insignificant during this visit. read more

Had a horrible customer experience at the K street location. I went for an annual skin screen and had two spots removed for testing, which was overall fine. A family member had an appointment with them a week or so later and they called me to confirm the appointment which I thought was weird, so I called back to let them know the appointment was for my sister. When my sister went to her appointment she explicitly asked them to make sure our information was separate to ensure there would be no problems with billing, given I had received the confirmation call for her appointment. My sister had 2 spots removed for testing as well during her appointment, and was told she would receive follow up in a week or two. She didn't hear back from them after two weeks had passed, so she began calling weekly for updates which they said they never had. The last call she made to check on her results was about 1 month after her original appointment. She was told the results still had not come back from the lab, and that it was odd it was taking so long. The same day, she received a bill in the mail charging her insurance for services under MY name. It was only when she called again the next day to tell them of this billing issue that she was told they realized they had received her results from the lab, which the lab had put under my name, and because those results didn't match the spots I had removed they ignored those results and did nothing. We have contacted them multiple times and they continue to assume absolutely no responsibility and blame the lab for the mix up of the results and the billing error. I don't believe this was just the lab's fault given their mix up of our identity with the appointment confirmation, but even if it was they should still assume some responsibility because they partner with this lab for their services. To me this represents a hugely irresponsible and negligent handling of patient information and results, and I would never trust them with mine again or advise anyone to trust them with theirs. read more

I made an appointment to Dr. Chang and lo and behold, my appointment was with the physician assistant. Not because the doctor was sick or anything, its just the way they operate, you schedule an appointment with Dr. Chang on your side, and they schedule an appointment with the PA on theirs. When I asked they said that if I would like to do a follow up with Dr. Chang I could do that (and pay again off course). I find this approach disrespectful to clients. If you only have appointments with the PA, schedule them for the PA. Easy. Three stars and not one as the PA, Ms. Bennis was professional, nice and overall I was satisfied with my appointment with her. read more

On your first visit to Dr. Ratner, you might feel kind of weird about the whole thing. Talking to a man who looks like your grandfather who then has to look at your entire body for skin abnormalities is a strange experience. But once you get over that hurdle, you will love going to Dr. Ratner for all your skin care needs. First off, the man is nice as pie. He has many many patients, but always makes sure to ask you about yourself, what you do and where you're from, and makes sure that you are comfortable. Second, his treatments are effective. I went to see him for adult acne issues, and within a few weeks of seeing Dr. Ratner, my acne was gone. Having struggled with skin issues my whole life, I had tried everything. It wasn't until Dr. Ratner that I was able to have a legitimately clear complexion! He is not afraid to write a prescription or get you the creams you need to ensure your skin is at its best. Geeze I just realized how much like an infomercial I sound. Oh well, everything I'm saying is true. One thing of note: they still require referrals from your provider unless your provider says otherwise. I changed providers and got all the way down to Dr. Ratner's office before I was informed that I needed a a referral, so just to be safe, get one before you go. read more

DO NOT COME HERE! As others have noted, Allison is great, but I am concerned and want to share my experience about the aftermath of being a patient here. I had two small biopsies done on January 28, 2014 and was billed $119.59 after paying $35 towards the $154.59 I owed as a patient in the office on February 19, 2014. I received an explanation of benefits in March 2014 and a bill in March 2014. I had moved in July 2014 and thought everything was squared away until I receive more correspondence about that $119.59 bill. Finally, in September 2014, I decided to call and figure out whether I had paid (I had not) and wanted to make things right and called the office in DC and then the company that deals with their billing in Florida. On September 5, 2014, I received a receipt by email and saw the posting to my credit card statement that I had paid. Lo and behold, September 30, 2014, I receive another bill and yesterday, after I had just gotten home from an amazing trip that buoyed my spirits and waistline, I open mail from a debt collection agency saying I still owe Integrated Dermatology of K Street money. So naturally, I go through the same process of tracking down my receipts, credit card statements, emails, and phone records to see whether I had paid or not and spent a few minutes on the phone with someone from the debt collection agency this morning only to be told I had to mail everything as proof; email is not an option. I cannot believe how much time I have spent on paying for these tiny biopsies that took less than 10 minutes to remove. It certainly has me thinking twice of being a patient here again. The whole financial thing is a big deal because when you're applying for loans, renting, buying a house, getting a credit score, all your current and prior debts are taken into consideration. Since this was my one mistake (I always pay my credit card bills and rent in full on time), it's cost me dearly. read more

I saw Dr. Craig and my appointment felt very rushed. I was interrupted while discussing my medical history, she spoke very fast, incorrectly stated my medication history, and was out the door before I had finished asking questions. I then had to ask very specific questions for the nurse to properly go over my treatment. Also a bit concerning, Dr. Craig told I should "look up" whether I could use a certain product (which I would have thought was her job to tell me if something was safe). I was given two prescriptions, one of which has been very challenging (likely not possible) to get filled. Both the office and their pharmacy have not called back when they say they will- I've had to be persistent with calling to follow-up. read more

Usually I get a 45 min - 1 hr wait (!) + odd billing service (goes to somewhere in NC, and they always send me the wrong charges! not good). I like Dr. Chang - she seems great, like an older sister type, but she couldn't help me figure out my skin situation...went to her for ~6 mos; she comes in for barely 5 minutes at a time to see you. the incorrect billing fees were really getting to me, so I was out. also there were too many strong chemicals in the products she rec'd and I got add'l break outs from them. who wants that. read more

If I could give Dr. Mickle and his office less than one star, I certainly would. First I waited 30 minutes for my appointment (I was even early and had already filled out the necessary forms). Then, I was taken back by a young guy, who proceeded to tell me they couldn't actually do what I had scheduled the appointment for. He began to blame me, questioning whether or not I had actually told the correct information to the receptionists when scheduling. About 5 minutes later, I hear the guy degrading me to the doctor! Doctors and their staff should apparently be more aware that we can still what you say once you leave the patient room! After waiting a further 30 minutes, Dr. Mickle came in and was arrogant, rude, and abrasive. He was unhelpful and said my procedure couldn't be done that day at all. And that it had to be done at night (which I found out is only because he was unwilling to do it during the day). I left the office feeling like I had been treated as THE problem, rather than having an experience where I felt like the staff cared about me and the medical issue I was having. Even though Dr. Mickle did absolutely nothing but tell me how he couldn't help me, I was still charged for the visit. Hopefully the other doctors in the practice have bedside manner. It is obvious that Dr. Mickle skipped that class in med school. read more

I was pretty hesistant before coming in due to the reviews. I had found this group using ZocDoc and figured they were doing at least something right. Well, I didn't even get to see the doctor. I scheduled online yesterday only to be told when I arrived, the time I scheduled for wasn't available. When I asked why I didn't get a call, the response was that since I scheduled online that was how they responded back. So you cancel and don't confirm I received it. Nor hear a response from me? I don't just blame them, but also blame ZocDoc, as when I logged in to get the address for today, it didn't let me know it was canceled. ZocDoc is a great way to grow your practice when you are ready for it. Unfortunately this is showing me how much there isn't in operational foresight. 2 stars is for a nice waiting room, and at least the shot of implementing new technology. If you need help implementing ZocDoc, try looking for an practice management consultant. This has SOPs written all over it.... read more

She was friendly and professional and explained what she was doing as she went along. She made me feel like a VIP patient. The outcome was exactly as promised. I look refreshed and my best self. This practice has really grown in the last years but now they emphasize volume over quality. I rarely see Dr. Chang anymore since it takes at least a month to even get an appointment. Allison, the Physician's Assistant and the Victoria, the new Physician's Assistant are both lovely and competent but the office staff seems a bit disorganized and I have zero confidence in them. Examples: they overcharged my Flex card and didn't send me the receipts of the transactions even though they say they would. The receipts were a mess when they eventually sent them to me that I ended up paying back my FSA since that was easier than trying to explain that they accidentally overcharged me then accidentally overcredited me. And they had the never to send me a bill for the WRONG AMOUNT. I just ignored them until my next appointment because I don't trust anything the office staff tells me anymore. Finally, my pharmacist has been trying to get them to send a prior authorization to my insurance company for 2 weeks, finally forcing me to call them myself and of course no one has called me back to explain why they couldn't bother to respond to the pharmacist's request. Also, I don't even bother to learn anyone's names because the faces change all the time except for the one rude person who seems to be the Office Manager. Oh, and they WILL charge you $50 for missing an appointment or not canceling in 48 hours. read more

My experience in the office was good, but I have been calling for 10 days to get results from the biopsy they performed and to answer other concerns from the lump the procedure left on my face. I have been seeing Dr. Chang for about three years now and sing her praises on a very regular basis. She is pretty prescription happy, meaning I am actually using three different prescriptions on a regular basis now that I'm one of her patients -- but my skin has never looked better as a result! Dr. Chang recently remodeled her offices and they are now stunning, modern, and spa-like. Each exam room actually has its own sound system playing relaxing music. Dr. Chang herself reflects this modern esthetic with high heels and funky accessories -- she is very well dressed and really fun to talk to. So if you have to get a mole check, why not have some fancy shoes to look at in the process? I have had mixed luck with Dr. Chang's office staff -- most are very helpful but there have been occasions when I've had a time critical questions and the team has taken days to respond to me. It is also pretty tricky to get an appointment with Dr. C because she is just THAT good. I'd recommend booking your next appointment before you leave her offices so you don't have to wait when you need to get in. read more

I've been lucky enough to have Dr. Chang treat me for several years now. I feel compelled to give an update of my interaction with her as some may wonder if a person's opinion fades over time. My opinion of Dr. Chang has only improved. She always provides great recommendations to address my issues and dissuades me from seeking treatments I suggest because they are en vogue. That is to say she is a trusted adviser focused on what's best for the patient, not how to sell more products and services. Her great personality and expertise is reflected in the staff she hires. I don't remember meeting anyone in her office from the receptionists to payment processors that I was less than impressed with. She seems to be able to find the best of the best from all backgrounds. I recently moved to Richmond, but I will continue to go to DC because of the great experiences I have had with this office. read more

This review is for Dr. Agnes Chang at Integrated Dermatology. Over the past six months, I have struggled with new food allergies and systemic responses to medication. Dr. Chang has been a godsend -- she is attentive, current, thorough, and personable. Every visit, I leave confident I am in good hands. She does not add superfluous treatments, and is sensitive to my comfort level with certain therapies (oral v. topical, for example). Her staff is friendly and helpful; I never feel mishandled here. They run a pretty timely ship, and they have good, current magazines in the waiting room just in case you have to wait. I have heard mixed reviews of the other dermatologist in this practice, Dr. Rattner, but I have never seen him. I cannot recommend Dr. Chang enough! read more

I was so relieved to connect with Dr. Chang about a scar that has been morphing into a serious distraction/concern over the last few years. She was so patient, thorough, and wonderful about all the options and treatments available. She and her fabulous staff were even able to begin part of the procedure during my first visit to save time and money- and work with my schedule. I had an adequate and good first experience with this practice. I saw Ms. Allison Senerchia, and thought that she, along with the medical assistant, provided good service. I've been to dermatologists who have sat across from me and looked at my skin from their perch three feet away; Ms. Senerchia sat close to me, and got up, put on some magnifying equipment and spent a moment examining my skin. Was it necessary? I honestly don't know because I'm not a doctor, but the confidence I have coming out of the appointment is high. My experience with Integrated Dermatology of K Street has been wonderful! Allison - a PA - is very knowledgeable and easy to talk to. She was able to successfully address a long, on-going problem. She explains things to patients in non-medical terms while still treating you with respect. I have also gone to Dr. Chang for mole removal and was very satisfied with the whole experience. The nurse who called with the lab results explained the results in a way that conveyed the seriousness but did not terrify me. Dr. Chang and her staff made the process as seamless as can be. I had a spot on my face looked at last year and was told by the doctor to make a same day appointment if it changed. Recently I called to make a next day appointment and was given a slot at 10:15 am. When I showed up for my appointment the receptionist told me there was no record of my appointment -- she said she had no idea who I talked to but they never scheduled me. She said she couldn't get me in until 3. I needed to see if I could arrange to be off work that long, so I left to figure out my schedule. When I called back five minutes later, the woman I spoke with said she had no idea who I talked to but that there were no appointments available. You need to get your stories straight. I will need to go somewhere else since you clearly are not interested in helping me and I can't afford to spend this much time and money showing up to appointments that don't exist. read more
