Watching Vietnamese cooking show isn't what anyone wants to watch while getting their nails done (raw fish?). Instead of being like every other place, make your salon stand out. Specialize in safe nail procedures. You reuse a lot of equipment. Be known for healthy nails (not removing nail polish with a drill).

The tray was unstable, and the vibration from the chair caused the bottle to tip over, soaking my limited-edition Athleta shirt in acetone. The shirt now has visible fading and appears to be permanently damaged. Accidents happen. What matters is how a business responds. Instead of taking responsibility, the explanation shifted toward blaming the massage chair rather than acknowledging the poor decision to place an open bottle of acetone on an unstable, vibrating surface. I received no genuine apology, no offer to make things right beyond removing the cost of my manicure, and no meaningful acknowledgment that a customer's property had been damaged. The value of my shirt far exceeds the cost of the manicure that was removed from my bill. To make matters worse, my attempts to discuss the situation with management went nowhere. I left feeling dismissed rather than respected. The experience was made even more frustrating by pricing that felt anything but transparent. I was charged additional fees, including an upcharge simply to remove existing polish before my pedicure. Had those charges been clearly explained beforehand, I could have made an informed decision. I recently moved to Georgetown after spending four years with the same nail salon in Dallas. I was excited to find a salon I could become a regular at. Instead, I found a business that failed in the moments that matter most: taking responsibility, communicating with customers, and standing behind its service. If you visit, I strongly recommend asking about every potential charge before your service begins and paying close attention to where open bottles of acetone and other chemicals are placed around your belongings. The tech's skills were the worst I have ever encountered. There were only two issues with my…read morepedicure - a moment of real pain when it seemed she dug too deep in one area and a crooked finish to another (which I commented on and the woman in charge corrected fir me). But when my manicure began, she was so aggressive and using a thick emery board, that even today almost all the edges of my fingers still hurt. It was painful when she was doing it, and now realize that I should have spoken up, but kept thinking/hoping it was just a fluke and her filing style would improve, but now I know better. She also caused one finger to bleed when she was using the cuticle trimmers, and she never commented on it. After I paid for my mani/pedi and my daughter's pedi (for which she priced it slightly higher than the manager's price - given at the same time), we left. In the car I really looked at my fingernails, and discovered a bubble, a ridge, and several uneven edges near some cuticles. I went back in and they corrected the four areas I pointed out, and found three more they fixed too. Management was apologetic and did not make me feel bad, and I was very nice about it too. However, this morning I had to take ibuprofen again, because my fingers are still sore. If this had been my first manicure, I probably would never want to repeat the experience. Fortunately, there are good techs out there!
