Mitchell came to my home and we spent hours designing a system including not only all of the typical stuff such as door and window sensors and motion detectors, but also glass break monitors and water alarms for the laundry room and sump pump areas. Mitchell did not "sell" any of this stuff to me. I asked for it and we designed an excellent system together. The reason that I am writing the review today is because this is the first time that I have spoken to Mitchell in over two years. I received an alert on my control pad that a battery was low and I didn't know which device needed the new battery. I called Mitchell on his cell phone. He picked up on the second ring. I had the battery in a drawer and he identified the device and walked me through the battery change over the phone. This tells you a couple of things: 1. The equipment that Mitchell sold to me over 2 years ago works without issue. I literally have had not spoken to him in over 2 years because I have NEVER had a problem. My big problem today was that I needed a new battery. I'm OK with that. 2. Mitchell answers his phone. He is extremely responsive and knowledgeable. Mitchell is a good guy. He knows what he is doing and he sells good stuff. I recommend him without hesitation.

While I was waiting for the technician to arrive, I fiddled with the settings and ended up resolving the issue on my own. What really stood out to me was the honesty--both Mitchell and the technician could have easily said I needed new equipment or upgrade or unnecessary work, but instead they were supportive and completely upfront. That defect led to significant excess oil usage, including two large deliveries in a short period. Once the issue was fixed, consumption dropped immediately, so the cause was obvious. I requested a conservative $200 credit to partially offset the excess fuel cost. They offered $50 and then ignored multiple follow-ups over several weeks, ultimately repeating the same offer without addressing the issue. The installation mistake is one thing -- the lack of accountability and refusal to resolve it properly is the real problem. Would not recommend.

Second story I needed a burner replacement called a few people about some estimates.Slomin's was my choice because they took care of the permits and everything, they arrived with a full crew and dismantled my old burner and replaced with the new burner in a day. The crew was excellent in explaining there every move and when they left the place looked like they were never there, spotless. She was the person who originally took my call. So I thought it would be best to work with her from beginning to end. Denise was always professional and helpful. She paid attention to details, and responded to my calls and e-mail messages in a timely manner. I explained to Denise that, although I could have served the opposing party by certified mail, per the California code, that my client had a preference for personal service. That way if the opposing party ever disputes service, the presumption favoring process servers would apply. This office got the opposing party personally served in a timely manner. They also prepared the California judicial council form for proof of service, with the detail I required. Best of all, their prices are reasonable! I would use this office again if I needed to get someone served in the New York area. I was also happy to learn, from their description on Yelp, that they offer other services.
