Whatever you DO NOT choose this health plan!!! I pay much more now on prescriptions and co-pays than I had when covered by another HMO!!! All of my medication is on Inter Valley's formulary list, I still must pay FULL PRICE for critical medication I need that is life sustaining. Moreover, my hospitalization co-pay was only $50.00 with Humana. I had to pay $100 in ER before being admitted. Then a financial staff member asked me for $200.00 two days after admission. Apparently, Inter valley doesn't even cover an average daily hospital rate. How are ICU costs??? I changed to Inter Valley because I had them years ago. Wow, how they've changed!!! read more

Chose Inter Valley Health Plan when i was required to sign up with Medicare. That was over 1 1/2 years ago. Cant ever get an appointment to see my dr. Have only been able to see a PA once. Needed to get a tetanus shot to be able to volunteer at a pet rescue shelter. Had an appoint with an RN but they ordered a TB shot instead of a tetanus shot. Took 2 more weeks trying to get a tetanus shot. Ended up just paying for it myself. The monthly fee is taken directly out of my social security. This is the worst insurance I ever had in my life. I am truly scared to see what would happen if I had a serious illness. I now have to wait until next year to be able to find another Medicare health plan with someone else. read more

I became a member at 65. I had no problem with selection of my PCP. My Service to Seniors has serviced me well. When I had a question of my plan, I called the IVHP office and was truly satisfied. Also, all my needs were met when I needed surgery a few months ago. I felt I received special treatment after the first specialist could not take any more patients. If you call the 800# on the back of your Medicare card, they will tell you they are not in the medical plans. They have a slogan "were in it for health not for profit" It's just the opposite They have no compassion it's all fake to get you signed up. They took me from my straight Medi/Medi to this, saying I had to change. That wasn't the case, and Medicare switched me back just in time. You all should be ashamed of your selfs and FAP you referred me to them as your new Medicare specialist, You were supposed to be my advocate now I've lost all my trust in you Alycia and FAP. You jeopardized my health by putting me on your horrible plan. I was smart enough to see it and make the change. Thanks for the hassle I will surely spread the word :( read more

The Most Horrific Experience! After reading the newspaper Ad of the Medicare plan from Inter Valley Health Plan (IVHP), I went to Carrow's Cafe where the meeting was held. There were only 2 attendees including me. The small attendant signals a red flag that it could be a scam! The speaker named Tracy Williams was the only woman from IVHP. After she paused, I asked her a question relating to Medicare, which she was irate, explosive, and combatant to tell me, "You could look it up on Internet. I do not answer questions." She then spent the entire time talking to the other attendee and did not look at me. She acted retaliatory, hostile, EXTREMELY rude, and unprofessional. She gave me a chill and a warning of a scam. I would never consider IVHP, especially Tracy for any health plan or Medicare plan, and strongly not recommend (IVHP) to anyone! read more

My husband has Inter Valley Health plan and has had it for at least 7 years. He has nothing but the best to say about them. They have always been easy to communicate with and if there is ever an issue with a doctor or hospital, they will go to bat for you. He had a serious surgery and the costs were off the chart. They paid everything and were so helpful in getting everything taken care of. They even arranged for a plastic surgeon to come over 80 miles to the hospital to do the finish part of the surgery. As you can imagine this was a very difficult time in our lives but Inter Valley Health Plan was the one bright shining star. As soon as I am eligible I will be on their plan too! For the poster who left a negative rating because he went to a meeting and made a phone call, I don't think that makes him an expert on the workings of a excellent plan like Inter Valley. I think that only people who have had first hand experience with the Plan should be able to rate it, not a guy who attended a "meeting' about it. read more

The Worst. My Dad went under their care for a week of treatment. It turned into 2 months because of their errors. Now they kick him out, for not having a need. His therapist says he is two weeks away from release. The administrator says, "No more insurance, you are now private pay". I have a laundry list of additional complaints. 1. Primary doctor selection is good. 2. Hospital selection is good. 3. Specialist doctor is mixed; had one good experience and one not so good. 4. Dentist selection is horrible. Tried three IVHP dentists; all were very expensive and they tried to oversell. I went back to my old dentist and pay for services myself. My dentist charges less than half of what the IVHP dentists charge. 5. No automatic gym membership like most other plans. I have to pay for the membership myself, fill out the IVHP paperwork and wait for reimbursement. read more

My husband has been a member for over 16 years and I have been a member for 4 years. During this time we have had a numerous surgeries and take quite a few drugs daily. I can honestly say that this plan has been very very good to us. When ever I need help I just call their office and they have patient advocates who will go to bat for you and in every case we were very happy with the outcome. For the people who give negative ratings-please remember this are ratings for individual providers not the plan itself. As we all know there are good and bad doctors, good and bad hospitals, etc. Do not judge the plan on an individual doctor or clinic. This plan is a non-profit plan and they are member oriented. After all these years of memebership, we would never consider changing to a another plan. I would give them 10 stars if I could. read more

The good write ups are plants, just step into your doctors office and find every chair filled and people standing,after an hour or so you see your doctor, oh they changed your doctor without telling you. Inner valley health plan changes doctors like sheets on the bed. My eye doctor has been changed about every time I go in. If you need a specialist forget it. California law says not to make people wait longer than 6 days,but Ron CEO at inner valley makes you wait 10 days before you can ask a specialist, they are so booked up you wait another 2 months for an appointment,so your disease get much worse. They want you to stay very sick so they can keep making money from you. read more

Inter Valley Health Plan was amazing while my husband's sister was in the hospital. Everything she needed was handled quickly and compassionately. Any information or direction we needed in caring for her was provided. The health plan covered everything, and so there were no worries about the cost of her care. Even the doctors and nurses in the hospital who cared for Shirley gave Inter Valley high praise as a good plan to be with. During such a difficult time, Inter Valley was there for us and demonstrated what a health plan is supposed to be. read more

This medical plan with Riverside Medical clinic has unprofessional employees who do not help at all. They do not fax authorizations and medical records to requesting providers. Their available appointments are like 6 months from now. They are hungry for money and do not care for their patients. I would not recommend this medical group. (if I could rate them it would be zero starts) a lot of offices in this medical plan that need training and need to be educated on customer service. Such a disappointment. read more

Outstanding medicare advantage program! I was feeling ill and went to PVHMC ER. Checked out by MD there and he said I was OK. Left this hospital but still feeling poorly - coughing up blood. Decided to drive to another hospital I had previous experience with (out of my present network). Admitted to this hospital and stayed 2 1/2 days before release. The bill was huge! I hate this health plan! Everything you need has to get approved and that takes forever. Also, if they send you to get tests or x-rays it's always far away. Last week it took me 45 minutes to drive to a CT scan. That is ridiculous. If you ask for some place closer, that takes another two weeks. They don't seen to realize you're waiting to get medical care that you need now. read more

I am not currently a member of Inter Valley Health Plan but I have attended some of their wonderful events such as Arabian Nights which was held this evening at the Morongo Golf Club at Tukwet Canyon. They are a non profit organization and they definitely give back to the community. Tonight's event included a delicious free dinner, raffle prizes, live music and as a special touch, they had a terrific belly dancer. We had a great time. They did an outstanding job. Both my parents and my husband's mom are Inter Valley Health Plan members. They have been wonderful to both my parents. Really great advocates for my mother-in-law. After surgery she went to a skilled nursing facility and then they sent a home nurse to check on her for a few weeks Nothing but a positive experience and excellent customer service every time I call. read more

I had no trouble deciding what health plan I would choose when I became eligible for Medicare in 2014. My mother had been with Inter Valley Health Plan since around 1998, and because she lived with me until recently, I knew it was a good plan. Even before the ACA eliminated co-pays for us seniors, my mother's co-pays were always cheaper than mine when she had to pay at all. I also liked the way the agents treated her and me when we talked to them on the telephone or in person. As a relatively new client and my mother's caretaker, I continue to appreciate the patience and courtesy of the Inter Valley Health Plan (IVHP) employees. It's important that people who deal with the elderly know how to talk to them, how to lower their stress levels and how to show compassion and concern. Today I was upset about a supposedly overdue ambulance bill sent to my mother in her senior care facility. The two IVHP employees that I discussed my concerns with--Valerie in the Pomona office and Monica in the Claremont office--were both friendly, patient, and helpful. I'd had a bad day until I called Valerie in the Pomona office and then hopped in my car and drove to see Monica in the Claremont office. Thanks for saving my day, ladies! read more
