They also prompt you to tip additionally on top of the auto 20% gratuity while handing you the digital bill, so extra emphasizing this before you don't notice and tip double. Came for Miami Spice with my family. For starters, the service was excellent. They start you off with warm bread which was yummy. I got the lobster croquetas, lemon herb quail, and pistachio creme brulee. The food was pretty good, but nothing memorable. The portions are a bit small. My partner got the blue cheese steak and it was tiny! He was still hungry after. My mom got the crab stuffed salmon with the strawberry risotto. It was good, but it was a bit strange. Overall, the food is good but it seems confused. Marfil Bistro is a nice Mediterranean restaurant in Doral. Came here before going to play pickleball with some friends for happy hour and we were underdressed. Our friend didn't forewarn us about the type of restaurant we'd be going to but, regardless of not adhering to the dress code, we had a great time. The staff was super nice and very attentive! They have a great happy hour that is every day from 4-7pm, that has 2 for 1 on select drinks and $8 tapas. We ordered a good amount from the happy hour menu and each got our 2 for 1 drinks. Luckily you can mix and match these and they were good size drinks and pours. The food was pretty good so I'm curious how it is to dine for dinner here. read more

Doral has lately become a favorite spot to meet and hang out with friends. Marfil was recommended to me by a friend, so we decided to try out their happy hour on a Friday afternoon. Their drinks are buy one get one free which is a unique deal to see. I had a lychee martini which was very refreshing to drink. Their HH food consisted of $8 (each) empanadas, mussels, calamari and tequenos. They were tasty - very nice to snack on while you sip on your drink Service was nice, I appreciated that they were accommodating to any food allergies and recommended alternatives Towards the end of happy hour there was live music playing and our happy hour experience couldn't have been any better This restaurant would be great for a date night out or for friends to meet for happy hour. I made a Valentine's Day reservation for my family of four through OpenTable after reviewing the restaurant's regular menu online, which showed a variety of pastas, steak, and seafood. There was no mention of a prix-fixe menu when booking, so we were surprised to learn upon arrival that only a set menu was being offered. At 9 PM on Valentine's night, we had no real option but to stay. The prix-fixe included an appetizer, entrée, and dessert (the price was not listed on the menu we were given). The food came out extremely fast, making it obvious it had been pre-prepared. The lobster bisque was cold, the crab-stuffed calamari was fishy and inedible, and the tomato carpaccio was plain, unseasoned slices of tomato with store bought basic toast. Before we could finish our appetizers, the main courses arrived and we had to clear space on the table. The braised short rib was a very small, mediocre portion (comparable to catered banquet hall food). The lobster ravioli included only 1/2 a lobster tail, was served at room temperature and overloaded with sauce. Desserts were equally disappointing. We left still hungry -- my husband actually stopped for a cheeseburger on the way home. The biggest issue was the price: $90 per person, which was never disclosed during booking and is far above the $21-$48 entrée range shown online. For a family of four, the bill was $360 (not including drinks) before tax and tip. By far the most we've ever paid for a meal, and easily the worst dining experience we've had. To make matters worse, the restaurant later marked our reservation as a "no show" on OpenTable, even though we dined there and paid. I've contacted OpenTable to correct it, but that added to an already disappointing experience. read more

Decided to go Saturday night Dec27 and was told about a Wagu NY Strip Steak special for $65 so I went for it. But it's clear that no one here knows what a NY Strip Steak looks like as I was served a cheap round steak; grey, thin and aptly round. In my 40 years of eating NY Strip Steaks I've never seen anything that looked like this, Bonanza Steak House would've been better. I should've complained but a $175 dinner for 1 with wine deserved a better meal. Doral has really been doing the most with their awesome restaurants. I recently visited Marfil Bistro and loved my experience! This cozy spot offers delicious bites, my favorite being the sea bass and my moms was the lobster risotto. Both were honestly so perfect and served so nicely. Today we went there and they had a preset Mother's Day menu with the lowest quality meats/plates and you were not allowed to order outside the limited horrific menu, at least let your potential guests know online any chances in menu so they can make an educated decision before making reservations, don't be deceptive and hide it, not a wise business move. Also that place is a money grabber, poor quality food, meat cuts were low quality, hard and chewy and serving portions were minimal, a total disappointment. Lastly they changed out seating from the quiet back setting to the table next to the front door where you could feel the heat and humidity any time a guest enter the restaurant. The place is crowded, noisy and very expensive when you compare price vs served food quality. My advice, avoid the headache and don't ruin your special occasion for cheap places like this! read more

Since my last review some favorable changes have been made. Service was very good (Oriana was very attentive). We ordered Lobster bisque, and it was very tasty but could have had some lobster pieces. The burrata appetizer was good but the burrata was a little dry on cutting it. The salmon carpaccio when brought to the table had a fishy unpleasant smell and it comes with a little salad. The vegan fettuccine (I wanted it with Spaghetti and this time they could do the change) was in a delicious tomato sauce. The wine glass (Albarino) was very good but expensive $14. read more

We went there for a Thanksgiving dinner at the recommendation of others in our party. It was my first time there. Firstly, I was disappointed in the choices of a 'Thanksgiving' dish. I was expecting something a tad more traditional. The soup came out tepid and I didn't find it tasty. The "stuffed" turkey was two slices of turkey roll stuffed with some cranberry, there were 3 thin asparagus spears wrapped with a little bacon and the mashed sweet potatoes with tiny marshmallows was not all that ! And to boot...... the food was not hot ! I don't like returning food that's not freshly hot because they will reheat it in a microwave and for me that's a BIG NO ! The pumpkin cheesecake for dessert could have used some pumpkin spice flavoring and not have been served right out of the refrigerator. The meal cost $55 and the automatically aded a 20% tip. All in all, I feel as if i hadn't eaten a Thanksgiving meal. I'm not saying we won't give it another try ordering from their regular menu. I have nothing negative to say about this place. It was my first time dining here with my sisters and parents. We are all in town before we fly out of Miami for vacation tomorrow. My sisters live around the corner and we decided to come here for dinner. We had the goat cheese balls and carpacchio for an appetizer, I had the braised short rib and it was the best I've ever had. My family had the salmon dish with squid ink risotto, pappardelle, salmon farfalle, and caprese penne. All of it was amazing. We had the flambé dessert and 2 bottles of wine, as well. I recently had an extremely disappointing experience with Marfil Bistro and I feel compelled to share my story. Two weeks before setting a reservation, I contacted the restaurant to discuss the possibility of accommodating our group of 30. I was informed that I could either reserve the mezzanine for 30 guests and each family could make their own payments or schedule an event with a set menu, which I would cover. After receiving the set menu options via email, we come to find that some of our favorite dishes were excluded. Our intention in choosing this restaurant was to enjoy the full menu we've come to love over the years. Because of this, we decided to make a reservation for 30 so we could enjoy the full menu and order more. The trouble began when I called on a Friday to make our reservation, only to be told on Saturday morning that the reservation thst was made didn't exist. I had emailed the event organizer Saturday morning to see if we could organize a set appetizer menu for the day of our reservation that I would pay for in advance for the guests. Zuly the organizer then called me. The ensuing conversation with the event organizer was frustrating, as she argued about me not having reservation at all and insisted the only way was the set menu and I wouldn't have a reservation until it was paid and contract signed. I told her we'd be happy to but we just didn't want those options and if they were willing to make some changes and create a new package. She told me to send her the change request in writing. When I submitted a written request for just ONE change, priced equivalently to the item I wanted to switch out, the response was upsetting. The organizer stated, "Unfortunately, we won't be able to accommodate your requested changes due to the high-traffic nature of the date. Changes to the menus are not allowed, and it's not permitted to eliminate or substitute the dessert." She had zero intention of helping us when she spoke with me on the phone but instead wasted my time. This experience not only showcased a lack of flexibility but also a failure to honor the commitment made during our initial conversation. The inconsistency in communication and refusal to consider our preferences left us with no choice but to take our business elsewhere. Having to remake and send out invitations with such short notice. It's disheartening to see how a restaurant we've been loyal to for years has chosen to handle its patrons. I hope this review serves as a cautionary tale for others considering dining or hosting events at Marfil. As their employees are clearly not well trained on what the event organizer wants and whats worse, is that she seems to be an owner or related to one. read more

Presentation for everything was on point and amplified the dining experience. Rolando our server was super patient considering I asked him a million questions and took forever to order. Can definitely taste the truffle which I liked. Overall needed a bit more acidity for the arugula etc which they brought lemon over to assist after asking. Carpaccio was a bit thinner than I would prefer considering how thick the pita bread. Duck - really good cut and well cooked. Taste wise it wasn't too flavorful. They have this sort of presentation for the sauce it's like coffee infused wood something blah blah blah with a fancy little machine equipment thing-a-jig. Interesting to watch but literally didn't really contribute anything super amazing flavor wise. Branzino - I enjoyed it! If you're going, this is a dish I know you'll enjoy. Safe bet for sure. Special note for the mashed potatoes - PLEASE change the recipe. Sheesh my 98 cent idaho potatoes from Walmart taste better than that. Literally very grainy and flavorless - not a fan at all. Made reservations for a party of four on a Tuesday evening. The restaurant was surprisingly empty, given it was happy hour. We were seated promptly and given the option of indoor or outdoor seating. Outdoor seating is covered, however be sure to choose a table closer to the building if theres a chance of rain. The staff was very welcoming and quick. We started off with the Greek platter and octopus, both are a must try. Half of the table had chicken entrees, the other half had fish. There were multiple unsweetened tea options, brought out in a cute glass tea pitcher. Everyone was satisfied with their meal, no room for dessert. We had lunch here yesterday (1/20/23) and it was a strange experience. The food was delicious, although I did think that the gnocchi portion was too small. The drinks were the problem - my husband ordered a regular old-fashioned (not smoked), and the red drink that is in the picture is what they gave us. We have never seen a red old fashioned, and it tasted nothing like an old fashioned. Even more disturbing was the fact that the blackberry in the drink had a huge white spot of mold (on the other side of what you see in the picture). It was disgusting! We pointed it out to the server and he just removed it and walked away without even apologizing. We were still charged for this drink with the moldy blackberry. My husband then ordered a smoked old fashioned to see if they could get that drink right, and the same red drink came out but smoked. Either the bartender doesn't know what they're doing, or they think customers aren't going to notice that they are being served something completely different than what is ordered. We've been to Marfil before and decided with this last visit that the quality is not what it used to be. read more

So... after coming back here so much has changed.... turns out they opened like a warehouse room area in the back of the restaurant which has no soundproofing and it is so loud. Unbearable! We came here for valentine's day and unfortunately it was a very unpleasant experience. The place was packed which I can understand being happy to have all of these customers after a long Covid year for restaurants..... but if you are going to pack the place have more waiters and make sure the kitchen can take the volume. It took hours to get get our dinner, fortunately, there was wine. Food was good as usual but I would recommend not coming here on busy dates. Our brunch at Marfil was absolutely lovely. The restaurant has a delightful ambiance, complimented by great service. The FOOD is amazing! It is fresh and delicious! My husband and I enjoyed every last bite. We had the soup of the day (salmon) and the Spanish tortilla as appetizers. We did the brunch option which is a really great deal and includes appetizer, main, dessert snd 2 for 1 mimosa :) The omelette was very tasty and so was the vegan fettuccine! For dessert we chose the Nutella bread pudding and the Red berries Panacotta which were both exquisite! Well I have to say that Marfil Bistro continues to impress me with the quality of their food. Seeing as COVID-19 restrictions are easing up again and restaurants started opening up in the area this week again, we decided to head on over and pay them a visit. Believe it or not the ambience was great and considering all that was going on, it was pretty busy but I wouldn't have expected anything less as Marfil Bistro serves excellent drinks and their food is simply amazing! On the menu for tonight was their Miami Spice menu which was great and had plenty of options for everyone. For appetizers we had the Arancini, Dates wrapped in Bacon (Yes I said Bacon) and the Grilled Octopus with Sweet Polenta. They were all delicious. Main course on this outing was the Frutti Di Mare Risotto and the Short Ribs in their home made sauce. Incredible and so tender... For drinks the mixologist killed it with the Marfil Pisco Sour, Mandarin Martini's and Cosmopolitan Martini's. I have to say that after being on lockdown, it was great to get out and have some good food and drinks. The staff were awesome as always and all observed proper social distancing and wore masks at all times as well. We all felt very comfortable. I had to get my waiter's attention to ask where it was after 20 minutes. Bear in mind it is lunch time on a thursday, slow. Honestly this probably the best restaurant I have eaten out in Miami. Everything was outstanding the food the atmosphere and the service. I ordered the Filet Mignon and it was amazing. It was tender and the taste was amazing. I tried some of my wife sea bass and that was amazing as well. I had the opportunity to have a dessert as well and it was amazing. My only complaint about the restaurant was their alcohol. We had a smoked old fashion and it tasted really watered down and not that great. My wife had been to the restaurant with her colleagues for lunch and they enjoyed it so she wanted me to try it. We went for dinner and were turned away because of my service dog! I was told I could sit outside in 100 degree heat or simply go somewhere else! Needless to say we left and never looked back! I don't care how great your food is if you have that attitude to customers with disabilities. My wife told her colleagues and they haven't returned either and I didn't even bother with them again.
