Unfortunately, Lisa had no time to help me. The next day I contacted the store but again, Lisa had no time to help me. I did leave a message for the store manager to call me. However, "Taylor" did not return my call. I then stopped by their location in Skokie. They had the chair. The sign said $1650 was the price. But when the salesman rang it up, the price had jumped to $1730. A supervisor I called at the corporate level could not explain the difference. Then a customer service woman called me to say they quoted a chair with lumbar support. I did not ask for this extra feature. I was not told the sale was being rung up with the add on. I could not get the store to see what the problem was here. So I will not be buying from Penny Mustard. If you are buying there, double-check the posted price versus what is rung up. Something is definitely off with their selling practices In my opinion.

Everything I got is top quality at a price within reach. People get a good first impression from the furniture and I couldn't be more pleased with it. The installers were really great and the senior one had worked there for several decades, that alone tells me that this is a good company both to work for and do business with. The installer told me the story of the first time he had installed my furniture when they sold it to the original owner, and about when he refinished it when the company let the owner trade it in. Amazing. I literally searched all over Northern Illinois and Southern Wisconsin to try to find used traditional furniture and this company was the only one with any real choices in furniture. If I ever expand my office space, Second Systems will be my first call for more furniture.

I don't think it's very professional to set up an appointment with someone and try to reschedule because someone else wants that time. I don't think it's my job to call back and reschedule. At that point I felt I didn't want to give them by business. I also used them last year to replace blinds-- the blinds are high quality , and the installation went well. However, after the installation I did not receive an email or phone call from sales person following up to make sure everything went okay with install. First, they messed up the order by not delivering everything we ordered. We ordered two computer desks and they delivered only one. We ordered vaccum cleaner but none was delivered etc. I was told that the delivery would be done on Wednesday but the furniture was delivered on Thursday. Not a show-stopper but this gets worse. The selection of furniture was not well thought of. The furniture looked like someone randomly picked the furniture without considering that some of the items will go in the same room. The quality of furniture was very poor. There were dents on furniture, scratches of TVs. The bedroom sets were the worst of the lot. We ordered two queens but they sent a king set which would not be a good fit for the room. The mattresses were filthy, stained and all I felt was the innerspring and no cushion at all. We promptly sent the mattresses back as I could not stand the sight of it. Overall, one of the worst experiences. I would give it a one star if not for the nice delivery team who were very considerate and apologetic for someone else's mistakes.

First was the delivery they destroyed the walls at the rental getting the furniture in, the manager came out and took pictures etc. they worked with the landlord to make it right I guess. when they came to pick up they forgot things and I had to argue with the guy to take a rug. When I heard from the relocation company that hired them through our insurance about the deposit they were charging us $1000 for "special cleaning" of the items and saying we ruined the rugs so bad they had to be thrown away so we had to pay for them. Mind you these rugs were clearly used when we got them. The rug we got charged $300 for was the one their pick up guy didn't even want to take and said wasn't theirs. After fighting between them and the housing company I got a $295 "credit" so out of my $1500 they took almost all of it without proof as to why. If you can use someone else do and take tons and tons of pictures when they drop off. Guess I learned my lesson.

And my unit was on the second floor, so you know they are all over. This place is infested and when I moved out and found the infestation, I called the office and spoke to two people (one was a manager) who were both completely unapologetic and indifferent. Moral of the story is that they know there are rodents and don't care. It is clear they have done nothing to control the problem as no evidence of rodent exclusion and reduction was seen on the grounds. They also closed the one large loading dock to get more storage units in and now a moving truck can't even pull in to unload. This took way longer to move, plus the time it took to clean and disinfect my belongings and had to pitch some stuff as well. I guess they don't care if they inconvenience their customers as long as they can get the maximum rent - which by the way increases almost every month. Plenty of other newer and less gross storage places around. See pics. Edit: "Emily" the Business Manager posted a number to call to get help with this matter. The number so to the front office, where they never pick up the phone and a manager is not present. I called this morning and spoke to two separate people.
