Jake's communication about cost, required paperwork, scheduling and deposit was friendly and professional. He kept open communication throughout the project about arrival times and departures and developing scopes of the work. Once Jake was available to start our project, he and his team were steadfast in the execution of a well-made and unique fence. His team's work ethic was amazing, consistently working through strong winds on shaky terrain; they cleaned up really well. The fence itself is strong, consistently built and beautiful to look at. We set up another date and he canceled an hour before our appointment time.. we rescheduled for a 3rd time and this time I waited for him all day and his response was "it slipped my mind". He finally came out but was unprepared and needed to have someone else come out to take measurements in order to give us an estimate... we are still waiting for that second person to come out and there's been no communication on their end. So, I was quick to consider him when I realized my elevated back deck was rotting out. He was quick to come out and give a reasonable quote (given the scope of the work). Took longer than he first estimated to start the job, but it was worth the wait ultimately. He finished in less time than he told me and under budget than what was initially quoted. The only reason I didn't rate five starts is that the project didn't start for about two months after the estimated start date, but I'm finding that to be par for the course for these kinds of big projects.

Now we want to sell our house and found that we needed to install something so that we could pass inspection. We looked at several options and could not wrap our heads around building something ourselves - we are definitely not contractors and not very successful do-it-yourselfers. I called and put feelers out for several contractors with no real bites. Thankfully, Randy reached out to us and offered to send Stephen out to give us a quote. Stephen came out and took a look at what we did and was so great - he didn't laugh at our handiwork. He promised us a quote by the following day and told us that he could build and install something within the same week. We received our quote and signed the paperwork... it was that easy. Stephen removed my old deck in one day and then went to work on creating my new one. It is 25' X…read more20', so we're talking big deck. It is free-standing off my yard. The wood is cedar and we decided to use cables to keep the view open. There is no table up yet, as we are still social distancing, but it's so nice to be on a beautiful new deck. Worked with AG on a multipart/day project where he and his team expanded a slope, built a retaining…read morewall around that slope, carved out a section for gravel + wood stairs, and then backfilled the top with 1/4 clean crush gravel for a low maintenance finish. I added descriptions for each picture but you can tell there was a lot of care and detail that went into leveling out the area, digging out the soil, moving it to the wall area, and getting that pretty square corner out of these curved blocks! The right side of the stairs (looking at it) is sloped and supported by the dirt that's also supporting the retaining wall. The left side is a sharp dirt edge which we left like that with a bit of a gap for a future fence, so no point smoothing it out. Very communicative, happy to make adjustments, double checked that everything was well explained before working on it, and reasonably priced. They got this job done in no time and made some intense work look easy, highly recommend.

We have had the pleasure of working with Maxwell and Green Light on two separate projects…read more In 2023 we did a full bathroom remodel with Green Light Construction, and we loved working with Maxwell and the whole team. Maxwell works with excellent tile installers and cabinet makers, and we are thrilled with the end result. Our bathroom not only looks fantastic, but Maxwell was very thorough in making sure all the quirks that had gone into prior renovations of our 1909 home were fixed, and we feel so much better about the quality of our home than we did prior to construction. Maxwell was consistently excellent at communication, and was calm and kind with all of our questions and minor changes that came up on our end during the process. Everything came in on-budget and on-time, with no surprises. We wish we had more renovation needs, because we would love to work with Greenlight again. In July 2025, we had Maxwell and his team back to build an exterior deck/set of stairs, move a dryer vent, and build a wisteria trellis. Maxwell was very responsive, as usual, and was able to fit us into his schedule. The crew cleaned up thoroughly everday and minimized any disruption to our yard. Communication was excellent throughout the whole process, and everything was completed just as we wanted it, at a fair price.

Maxwell understood that from day 1 and guided us through the process every step of the way, letting us make our own decisions while making sure we had all the information we needed. Throughout the whole renovation, Maxwell and Lathen were great about walking us through what they were doing, updating us, looping us in on every decision, and are both fun guys to be around. The tilers, plumbers, and electricians Maxwell brought in were all excellent, and gave us confidence that we'll never have to redo the bathroom again. Overall, we're extremely happy with the outcome; personally, I spend a good 10 minutes more a day in the shower because it's so nice! We highly, highly recommend Maxwell and Green Light.

The price seemed reasonable, however, the finished product was disappointing. A chunk of my brand…read morenew (two month's old) deck was knocked out. It was not mentioned to me and I did not see until the job was finished, he was paid and he left the property. That means I need to find a contractor to replace that board adding to the cost of this project. Also, the stamping on one side of the deck was off kilter - no way to make that right. He's a hard worker but does not seem to pay attention to details.
