The service has been prompt, courteous and professional, and the communication excellent. It's such a relief that these guys have my back. There were no spots when I arrived, so I just parked in front of the shop. Ambiance/Environment: The inside is small with a waiting area and a coffee station in the corner. The couch and chairs are comfortable and clean. There were consistent customers coming in n out for a weekday. Service: I called the shop before coming in to inquire about same day walk ups. Manny answered the phone, and he mentioned they were able to accommodate walk ups. When I arrived, he was also the same person that checked me in. He was nice and efficient. Majority of their workers speak Spanish and English. They offer complimentary shuttle services. Though, I couldn't take advantage of this service bc their driver was on lunch. My car needed a full synthetic oil change. If you have a coupon, make sure to present it at check-in. The coupon I had was for an oil change starting at $39.90. It cost $79 after taxes for my oil change; which is about average price nowadays. Since I couldn't use their complimentary shuttle services, I decided to wait there. It took about an hour for them to finish. They take cash or card as a method of payment. Thankfully there's no extra fee for using card.

After that repair, my check engine light suddenly came on--even though it wasn't on before. The first shop told me it was a problem with the mass air flow sensor and tried to charge me to fix it, which didn't feel right to me. So I decided to come here for a second opinion, and I'm really glad I did. The mechanic took the time to properly diagnose the issue and walked me through everything step by step. Within about an hour, he figured out that it wasn't the air flow sensor at all--it was just a blown fuse. That alone saved me a lot of money and potentially from being overcharged elsewhere. What really stood out was the honesty and communication. He explained clearly what went wrong, didn't try to upsell anything, and made sure I understood the situation. On top of that, he even aired up my tires for free, which was a nice touch. Fast, honest, and affordable service like this is hard to find. I'll definitely be coming back and recommending this shop to others.

Fast forward, I had gotten work done at this shop for my first time (I forget now what it was for).. & everything was quick and easy. Then this 2nd time I came, I had to get my catalytic converters replaced. They were so quick and provided great service. Carson, the manager, is so awesome! I appreciate so much how he would explain everything to me in detail about what needs fixing n if something ACTUALLY needs to be replaced or not. Very honest and helpful! Unfortunately, when I arrived, Carson was heading out for a break, so I had the displeasure of working with Langston at the front desk. Langston told me that Carson had given me the incorrect quote over the phone, which was fine; I just said I would go elsewhere for cheaper. When I told him this, he responded that his prices are the way they are because he uses quality parts. I asked him if the part would be aftermarket, and he said "it's Japanese." That didn't answer my question, so I asked him if the brand was Denso, and he said "yes, that's Japanese, right?" Aside from my interaction with him, I saw Langston being rude and giving attitude to my guy Carson after he came back from his break for no reason at all. I ended up going elsewhere to get the job done with the same Denso part for $100 less (close to the original quote that Carson gave me). Moral of the story is that I don't trust Langston, and I certainly don't like how he was treating Carson. Maybe he was having a bad day, but his attitude today was enough to make me question coming back here in the future (which is unfortunate because everyone else here is really kind and patient). Special shout-out to Skip for checking my car and sharing his knowledge with me.

Coming to EMD Auto is about as easy as taking a walk in the park. Quick, relaxed, straightforward,…read moreand you leave satisfied. No unnecessary headaches, no sitting around wondering when someone is finally going to pull your car in. This is our second time bringing our 2025 Audi RS3 to EMD for maintenance, and both experiences have been great. Both times we've worked with Thomas, and he's genuinely one of the reasons coming here is so easy. He's down to earth, easy to talk to, and scheduling is always a breeze. You do have to call to make an appointment, but I actually prefer it this way because when you arrive and check in, they're ready for you. They pulled our car in almost immediately. No appointment at 9:00 just to watch your car sit outside until 9:30 like you sometimes experience at a dealership. Parking is another small thing that makes a difference. There's plenty of space, so you're not circling a packed dealership lot or squeezing between cars just to drop yours off. What I really like about EMD is that they're not limited to basic maintenance and repairs. Yes, you can bring your car here for regular service, but the exciting part is the modifications. Intake, intercooler, downpipe, exhaust installs, Stage 2 setups and more. This is definitely a place for enthusiasts, but you don't need to be a car expert to come here. That's where Thomas really stands out. You can tell him what you're trying to accomplish with the car and he'll take the time to explain the different options, what you actually need, what makes sense for your goals, and what doesn't. There's no attitude or expectation that you should already know everything because you own a performance car. Ask questions and he'll explain it. That is especially important to us with an RS3 because once you start modifying these cars, one change can lead into another. It's nice being able to have an actual conversation about what you're trying to accomplish instead of feeling like someone is just trying to sell you the next expensive part. The waiting area is also surprisingly comfortable. It's clean, open, and has plenty of room to sit. There's a TV, comfortable chairs, and most importantly when Southern California decides to cook everyone outside, it's nice and cool inside. You can actually relax while you wait instead of feeling like you're sitting in the corner of a repair shop. Then there's the pricing. Compared with what we're used to seeing at dealerships, EMD's prices are significantly more reasonable. More importantly, you don't get that feeling that you're about to receive a list of mysterious "recommended services" and random charges you weren't expecting. Bring the car in for what it needs, talk through the work, get it done, and move on with your day. For anyone with an Audi or VW, especially someone who has a performance model or plans on modifying it, EMD is absolutely worth knowing about. We're particular about who touches our RS3, and after two visits, we've had a consistently good experience here. We'll definitely continue bringing the RS3 back for maintenance, and knowing they can also handle the fun stuff makes that decision even easier. Now the only dangerous part is coming in for maintenance and leaving with ideas for the next modification.
