I had experienced what I perceived to be discrimination at this pharmacy in the past. I understand, Andre, as the supposed "manager" needs to take claims like mine seriously. He made me cry as I am a very sensitive anxious person and the follow up was WORSE than the actual discrimination itself. He was NOT discreet, he used a tone of voice and behavior that was domineering/aggressive and he embarrassed me in front of the other customers. I am actually, quite perplexed at the moment. I would have thought as a person of color himself, he would have more empathy with my experience. I know what I experienced. I know the looks I got. I stand by my comments. The facility is more cozy than Rock Creek and easier to get to and get around in, although they only have a few specialties here. My wife's optometrist (Dr. Shealeen Panetta) is also here, so we visit the facility fairly frequently. She was rude, dismissive, and threatened to end the call early. I had to provide her with therapy to de-escalate the situation and continue the call productively. She was dismissive of my concerns and seemed to have a preconceived notion of what they were. She offered no follow up questions and did not attempt to delve deeper on any point. She was clearly not paying attention and I caught her not knowing what I had said minutes earlier multiple times. Overall an absolutely shocking experience but sadly very much in line with what I've heard from others seeking mental health care here. Avoid if you can. I cannot imagine seeking care here in serious need - the fact that this is the level of care they provide makes me worry for people with more significant support needs.

I hated that he said to me "I can't believe it's taken so long to get you in" (yet he was the 4th or 5th opinion that YEAR and the only one to recommend surgery, to let you know how messed up healthcare still is). I still largely like him, but I've had so many major issues with SCL Health and even his team. Despite that, I had a second surgery that was MUCH more painful than the first and his team has failed to do 2 prior-authorizations for pain medication in a row now. I didn't call on-call doctor last holiday weekend, but I tried today and was told that they can't conact the on-call doctor for refills period, as a CORPORATE POLICY. I also had other major issues including horrible post-operative pain care in the hospitals for both surgeries. They failed to even give me my normal meds AND failed to give me doctor ordered meds. Update: Due to their failure to complete the prior-authorization, I remain completely without breakthrough pain medication because the Hospital ran out. I was able to get this resolved eventually, although the PA threatened to refer me to pain management less than one month after an excruciating surgery just because I complained about failure to process pre-authorizations and the fact that the delay was increased due to the pharmacy running out. I can assure anyone reading that all I want is care while in pain. The doctor just told me I have up to 6 more weeks of it, plus my psoriatic arthritis flareup they helped trigger early made things worse. The fact the EPA's policies have created shortages of pain medication is another reason SCL / Intermountain Healthcare's policy of not allowing post surgical patients access to on-call doctors for *any* refill issue is deliberately cruel and arguably torture.
