I took the spring and summer months off from this studio because I couldn't bear the thought of facing a heated room. Did hot yoga (Bikram) once at another studio. Never again! It was the single most disgusting class of my life. I was physically ill for days. I believe and have learned from other yogis that a hot room is not healthy, especially at my age (58), and not necessary at any age. You should not have to drink water during your practice as it too distracting. I had to drink water today at Summus because I felt lightheaded and weak. I was unable to fully enjoy the class because my energy level was diminished due to the heat. It was probably 90F in there. I don't see the need for temp to be above 75F.

Lake Hopatcong State Park has the largest public beach access. Swimming is restricted to Wed.-Sun. from 10am-9:30pm while lifeguards are on duty. The park itself opens at 8am. Lake Hopatcong has a short but nice sand beach and swimming area. Be aware that once the parking area is filled everyone coming later will be turned away. If you get to the park by 8am, hike the short trails or start up your grill for breakfast, lunch or dinner. All the grill areas have picnic tables and most have tree shaded locations. They are first come first serve.. The park also has a boat launch for larger motor boats, kayaks, sailboats, jetskies etc that can be brought unto the lake..A sand court volleyball area, basketball courts, a soccer field and playground equipment are on-site, as well. For those that have a New Jersey fishing license, fishing areas are available. Large mouth bass, sunfish, catfish, perch and pickerel can be caught. In the winter you can ice fish. The restrooms have showers and changing rooms, The concession stand has fair prices and serves burgers, hot dogs, ice cream, funnel cakes, and drinks. Dogs are premitted but must be kept on a leash no longer then six feet.

Reserved an hour with Mike Mrugal, one of two golf pro instructors at this driving range. On the day of the lesson, I was running behind schedule and Mike was very accommodating to adjust his schedule, so I could get the full 60 minutes of instruction time. He was knowledgeable, patient, and attentive to my feedback. Provided some very simple and actionable tips that I could do on and off the golf course. It helped reinforce the good movements of my swing and build muscle memory. I definitely plan on going back to Mike after the season is over for some more tips to work on during the winter at the driving range. As for the location, it's a two-level driving range with different size of range ball buckets you can purchase (inside) for the ball machine (outside) reads the QR code on the receipt. The shop has the basics, in the event you forgot to bring something with you to the range. The lessons are taught in an enclosed shack that has a hitting mat and tv monitor for the instructor to provide instant feedback on your swing...nothing high-tech, but it is sufficient to visualize & communicate what you are doing right or wrong. Definitely I'll be visiting this place more often!!
