At first they seemed helpful, but the car was towed to their facility on a wed. I called them on Thursday to go over what was needed for the car to run again. He stated that the car definitely needed a new battery. Great, I said when can you start working on it. He said today and it will be finished by Friday. I never heard from them on Friday and I called again on Monday to find out what the status was and if it was ready to be picked up. Was on hold for about 8 min for him to come back on the phone and tell me that it wasn't even started being worked on yet. Well, to say the least I was a bit upset. He then said we will work on the battery today. Later I received a phone call regarding the cars battery. I then was told your fuel pump is bad too. I asked if we could just get the battery replaced for now and just drive it out of there without the fuel pump at this moment, would it still run to bring it home? he said yes we can do this. ok, they put the new battery in. next day I pick it up they are telling me how much it will be. I asked well, is it running now? He told me no....well, I'm sorry but this has just been so chaotic that I was at that point done with interstate auto. NO one knows what the other hand is doing there and they are very unclear with information. I did not pay for the battery that day and he then put the old one back in and had the car towed by AAA. AAA noted that the front bumper, where they were working this whole time, was just hanging off. NOT going back. NOT giving a good recommendation for the service they provided was not professional and to be quite honest the guy who worked on my car was arrogant and I wasn't impressed with the half assed job he did. If you live in Chandler or nearby, you are lucky to have an honest, fair, and expert auto mechanic, Keith Zelinski at Interstate Auto Repair. I had been traveling across country from Georgia toward California when my brake light and my check engine light lit up on the dash of my Mini-Cooper. It is difficult to find mechanics who are willing to open the hood of a Mini, let alone face the challenges of the intricacies of this BMW build engine. While I was waiting for my Mini to get fixed, a young woman brought in her Volkswagon for an oil change and asked Keith to look at the brakes. Keith returned letting her know that fixing her brakes wasn't necessary as she had 50% of her brakes left. "What honesty!" I thought.....Because they had to order a sensor for the brake light and it was late in the afternoon, I had to return the next day. I offered to pay for what work they had already done, but Keith said "Pay me when the car is fixed." To my surprise, he totally trusted me to return. In the morning, I witnessed a young man coming in at the last minute begging for assistance on trouble shooting his Acura woos. Keith addressed the car challengers and even gave him a ride home where he wanted to return with the family truck that needed some attention too. Even though Keith and his mechanics had spent a lot of time trouble shooting the Mini, I paid for a very fair labor charge, and I drove away with my check engine light off and my front brake sensor replaced. I have to say that this is the best car mechanic I have ever experienced in the entire 62 years of my life. Had some work done here on one of our vehicles, about 40% less than dealership estimate. They did a great job, done precisely when they said it would be, extremely friendly and professional. Also gave me a tremendous recommendation for some paint work on another vehicle and will be taking another vehicle in to them tomorrow for some quick work. We feel so lucky that friends recommended Interstate Auto to us a few months ago when my 2003 Honda Accord was having issues. Since then they have worked on our Ford 150 and we couldn't be happier. Keith, his wife, and the mechanics are wonderful/trustworthy people! The last time I was in the waiting area the customers were raving about how great the service is and how lucky we all feel to have found an honest/reasonably priced auto repair company. I researched Yelp to find a decent auto repair place after being sick of getting horrible service elsewhere! I had been having problems with my vehicle which started with the "check engine" light coming on. I first took it to another mechanic we had used and been happy with for several years, but they changed hands a few times and their service started going downhill. My husband took it to them out of habit and I wished I would have found Interstate Auto before he did. We spent $2000 in repairs (they said were needed but now I am not so sure they were) and they still not do repair the original problem we went in for. The check engine light kept coming back on and they reset it several times after doing the repairs. They finally gave up and told us they didn't know why it kept coming on but everything "should" be fine. Really? After finding Interstate Auto on Yelp, I called and talked with Keith. He was very professional, patient and kind. He told me to bring my vehicle in anytime and he would test it to find the problem. I took it in and was greeted at the front desk by Michelle. She immediately made me feel at ease (I am a woman and hate going to these places). Keith looked at my vehicle with a few minutes of my arrival. He diagnosed the problem within about 10 minutes, and even took me back into the shop to show me where the repair on the car was needed. He gave me an estimate of $200 to repair (not $2000!) and repaired it that day! The repair was a few weeks ago and I have had no problems with the check engine light coming back on! I am fortunate enough to have found Keith (Interstate Auto) about 6 years ago. It is very rare these days to find an excellent mechanic that you can trust. Keith has been taking care of all of our vehicles which include Tahoe, Suburban, and Lexus RX330. His prices are fair and his quality workmanship in my opinion far exceeds any dealership you go to. All of his mechanics are seasoned guys with many years experience, not fresh out of school,who are learning on the job. When there is a problem, he leaves the car up on the rack and explains and shows you the problem while giving you the best options available before you decide what to do. Keith replaced my air conditioning compressor in my 2001 Tahoe about 5 years ago for almost half the price the dealer quoted me, and to this day its ice cold with no issues. He uses only top quality parts. I will continue to take all my vehicles to him from here on out because he is the most honest shop and he cares about the customer instead of taking you to the cleaners. Thanks Keith!!
