I had a code/check engine light for a leak in my fuel system. I'm not super car-savvy but they explained each step they'd take in a way I could understand, provided ample communication (including a digital diagnostic test they performed from the check engine light, to my tire tread depth to my fluids!) and shared the most pressing concerns with me. They DID NOT pressure me to get everything done, or anything done really. Kurt explained what he felt most pertinent for why I came in but explained the other "red flag" items should not be ignored and quoted me their estimations for each service. Super friendly and helpful on the phone and in-person, and it ended up being a bit under what they quoted me. I won't use them for everything but I'll definitely go back at the very least for the inspections and bigger projects that I can't do on my own. Spencer and his team are amazing & went above and beyond for me!! I was coming up on renewing my registration/needed to pass emissions and sadly my check engine light came on. I took my car into the KIA dealership for a recall, where they gave me a list of other issues with the car & a LARGE quote on the repairs. So I took my car into H&I for a second opinion. They were so honest about the issues that needed to be addressed immediately and ones that could wait for a later date.. which will help me a lot with my budget. The pricing of the repair that I had done was WAY more reasonable than what the dealership quoted me. And guess what??? I left H&I and went straight to emissions and passed! Where do I begin? I have a stubborn Jeep Liberty, I went to h & I automotive today and they were absolutely amazing! They are so honest! I am super impressed by the service I received at H&I! I've been to several auto places throughout the Phoenix Valley, and while several have been great, I feel like H&I went above and beyond. They were quick to respond, very communicative, and really helpful. Steve explained everything going on with my car to me really clearly and in a way that was easy to understand (especially since I know very little about cars). The most helpful thing was the diagnostics report that was texted to me when they finished. Everything was rated red/yellow/green depending on the state of it and had a description with actual pictures of my car to back it up. read more

I have a 2012 Honda Pilot and had been taking it to a dealership for 10 years. I finally decided to got to H&I for oil change, inspection and a whining noise. H&I got car in morning and later went over what they had found. The whining noise was a bad alternator. The bearing was ready to stop working. By the afternoon I got a call it was ready for pickup. Great people up front. After spending about 6000 to have parts of my motor replace. Come to find out that some of the parts were replaced with OEM parts which was the problem in the first place. They order a rebuild kit from bulletproof diesel which was supposed to prevent this from happening again. Well 4 years later here we are again with the same problem and all that they can tell me is pretty much sorry about your luck. Apparently they put in a partial rebuild from bulletproof which included OEM parts which were the problem in the first place. H and I says that they did not know. BS. Do not recommend them at all. Also cost me about 6000 to have this done. I can buy the complete 100% bulletproof kit for 2700 and have it installed for 700. Talk about getting screwed twice. read more

Worst experience of my life, Took my car in because the ac fan was intermittent. The company replaced the blower motor resistor and charged me $461.00 and the fan motor is still not working. This part + pigtail with a guarantee on the internet is $30.66 a large difference. And the fan still doesn't work, so I am out $461.00 and I am still looking for a shop to fix my car. Needless to say I will be passing this information on to anyone I can! Since I wrote this I found a shop that could fix my car, I reported to him the information that I was told by H&I that my AC had mysteriously stopped working after I took it to H&I. My new mechanic found that the part installed by H&I had been wired backwards so my fan would also run backwards, he rewired it correctly and now my AC works just fine. I feel H&I owes me a refund for all the trouble I had to endure!!! read more

Took my Chevy Colorado here in hopes of having my speedometer recalibrated after an unsuccessful attempt at another mechanic shop who claimed to have done the job, only to find out they did not. I had recently put bigger tires on my truck, thus throwing off the MPH by about 4 miles. I called H&I and spoke to Steve, who said no problem, if they could do it right away, he wouldn't even charge me. I brought the truck in - and right away Spencer went to work on it. It ended up being a bit more involved, but rather than bringing it back another day, Spencer said it I didn't mind waiting a bit he would finish the job, charging just an hour's labor. After finding out he spent a number of years as a master technician with GM, I knew I was in good hands. I have had my automobile serviced by H&I regularly since early 2016. They have always taken care of whatever problem I have had with my car and for a fair price. This past week I took the car in because of a steering problem. On a test drive my service person immediately detected that the power steering fluid was low. Once he got under the hood he quickly found that the power steering rack was leaking, and needed to be replaced.. Because this equipment was under warranty from the time it had been installed by H&I two years ago, a new rack was installed at no charge for either parts or labor. From my perspective, this is another example of the excellent and no hassle service I have been getting the past three years. H (honest) and I (Integrity) at its best. read more

I just moved here in March and a friend referred me to H&I. I needed an oil change and thought I needed some other repairs too, hoping it wouldn't be too expensive. Turns out, the other repairs weren't necessary now, can wait on them. Price was fantastic. Fast forward 4 months and I brought a car for them to check out for my son and let me know if it was worth the asking price. They checked it out, told me a few things that needed to be done and told me that it was definitely a good car for the price. I have to add that the price they charged for checking out the mechanicals and running of the car was about $70 less than I have paid in Chicago ! I have brought my vehicles here for many years, and recommended them to several others. However, in recent months I would have to say that I can no longer recommend them. Having had a vehicle of mine serviced there recently and not correctly diagnosed or repaired, after several trips back for the same issue, is unacceptable. I would question that the mechanics who "actually' do the work, are likely not certified nor do they have the experience/training that past H&I employees might have had. Add to that that the pricing is equivalent to, or nearly as high as a dealership,and that simply doesn't work for me. I had a couple of problems going on with my car; loud noise coming from the dash, front seat not moving, and a blinker out. I called a place near where I work in Scottsdale and they wanted $98 for each thing they needed to diagnose. I have used H&I Automotive previously, they are just far for me, but I decided to call them to see what they would say. (My hairdressers husband works there.) They said $50 to diagnose everything for my car. They were able to get me in right away and take care of everything for less than what I would have paid to just have my car diagnosed up north. Not only that, but they are extremely helpful and answer all your questions. I must have called Chris 6 times and he was happy and took his time answering all my questions. They email you a detailed report of your car along with pictures to help show what is wrong so you know they aren't screwing you over like most places.
